I had a cocktail, something margarita. It was supposed to be with cabernet, but I wasn't sure if I'd like a "red wine" margarita, so the server made it with white wine which was very kind of her. For dinner, I started with the honey truffle brussel sprouts. OUTSTANDING! My entree was the NY Steak with roasted potatoes and veggies. Delicious; the steak was made to perfection.I brought two friends with me last night for dinner. My one friend and I had the red sangria, which was very good. My other had a glass of red wine. None were good. My only advice would be to have a better selection of wine.I will be back!“

“George Martin The Original is an amazing restaurant with exceptional food and service. Parking can be tough in Rockville Centre but George Martin has plenty of parking in the back. The bar is very large with plenty of seating...regulars often eat at the bar to chat with people around them and the wonderful bartenders. Reservations are recommended especially during busy hours. My husband and I started with two signature drinks...coconut Margarita and French martini. One better than the other. We shared a wedge salad which was split in the kitchen and chopped. Delicious! We both had steak, my favorite is Skirt steak, his filet mignon. Both cooked perfectly to our liking...dessert was pecan pie sundae... yummy... The service is the best around...especially the manager Suzanne who walks around making sure everyone is happy...can be a bit loud but the energy is contagious....love it there and so will you“

The Grilled Octopus was great! The "Kyclades" special was definitely a great choice, but I can't ignore the fact that they douse it in butter. The same thing goes for the baked potato—way too much butter. If you have to add that much butter to your dish for people to enjoy it, you're not doing it right.The servers were a bit odd, and I do mean more than one. We initially ordered the appetizer and drinks and asked for a couple of minutes to decide on the main course. A different server stopped by a minute later to ask if we were ready to order, so that was a bit off-putting. Maybe they were trying too hard... I don't know. The store manager was nice. He came by our table, introduced himself, and we had a pleasant chat about the food and the dessert drink he offered at no additional cost.Overall, a good choice. The portions are worth the price, and it'll make the experience much better. Definitely hit up the ice cream machine too! You may need to wait, but no worries, the wait time goes down extremely fast. For a first time visitor, that's definitely helpful.When we ordered the food, the waitress patiently explained what are the menu and what are the dishes they are known for. She even suggested the spiciness, and warned us the extra ingredients might ruined the perfect flavor.The restaurant prepared the food in the kitchen to maybe 95% done, and then sent the grilled fish in a tray on a stove to our table. The server told us to wait a few minutes for the flavor to fully sink in.We got the strip bass with the golden combination. The fish was grilled just right. The skin was crispy and easily separated from the meat. The meat was at an excellent tenderness. Under the fish were the golden combination ingredients we ordered. They added ample spices to create the flavor and sauce to dip the fish into.After the meal, we overheard that the restaurant doesn't do takeout. I think they want their diners to enjoy their dishes at the best quality. Takeout orders simply can't do justice.“
