“Great to have some solid momos in the area!
Came on a Saturday night and we sat down right away. The servers were very friendly and took the time to explain each part of the Thali we got.
Food:
- veg thali (4/5) - this is definitely a good bang for your buck, given that you can ask for refills. My favorite was the pea dish.
- veg jhol mojos (4.5/5) - nice deep flavor, the momos were solid. I’d be curious to try the chili ones and the fried ones next time.
- mango lassi (5/5) - everything you want mango lassi to be.
The vibe was pretty causal and they have a few tables for sit down“

“We are so excited that this amazing Tibetan restaurant reopened in a new location after the original location burned down in February 2021. The support of the community helped make it possible for them to continue serving delicious food in Jackson Heights. It’s as good as we remember, and the staff members are so kind. Please support our favorite Tibetan restaurant if you have the chance. You won’t regret it! 🥰“

“Tried the squash served with dal and rice, potato and veggie momos (they let us do half and half) and the black chana salad. I genuinely liked everything. Medium spice was perfect. Reasonable prices. My only note is this is a small place and it does get loud.“

“Just come here.
You know you've never had Bhutanese food before. You know you don't even know where Bhutan is. So stop pretending to consider, get on that 7 train, and come here. The trek only seems daunting because you don't know how hard actual Bhutan is to get to (seriously, look it up...it's mission impossible).
Get everything. If you can't, get these:
- Ema Datsi: The national dish of Bhutan. Crunchy peppers breaded in cheese. How can you not?
- Cheese Momo: Dumplings got a glow up, and now they come with dairy. Yes, please.
- Sikam Paa: If you like thinly sliced pork belly and daikon soaked in delicious chili sauces, you've found your dish here.
- Shakam Shukam Datsi: Like eating chunky beef jerky stir-fried in the best white chili sauce ever. What's white chili, precious? Come here and find out.
- Goep Paa: I assume that if you've come this far for this cuisine, beef tripe is not going to daunt you. Good. You've leveled up to this dish and can enjoy the most kiu kiu (chewy-tender) tripe this side of dim sum.
- Jangbuli: Maybe the one miss, for me. Stir-fried hand-pulled noodles in various seasonings. Great texture, not enough flavor. Bland, compared to its companions.
Oh yeah, they serve butter tea here--so if you've ever wondered what yak milk tastes like hot (it keeps me up most nights), you can enjoy a cup here for $3.
Small indoor seating, but now that it's warm times, they have several tables outside for parties of 2-4 that can be rearranged for bigger groups.“

“Food 9/10
Those momos were so so juicy and BIG. I was shocked. I think this was the first time I’ve ever had momos, so I was in for a beautiful meal. Their friend momos were also good, but they were dumpling shaped rather than soup dumpling round shaped. Still good, but I preferred the steamed ones. Beware, their spice is truly spicy. We ordered the cold cucumber and also mung bean noodles, and both absolutely destroyed me in their explosive flavor but also deadly spice. I kept on wanting more but my tears were welling up and nose started sniffling. I think the owner / host saw me and it was kind of funny because she kept on refilling my water.
Atmosphere 8/10
A very homey local restaurant vibe in Elmhurst. Felt like a neighborhood restaurant, and I love that.
Service 8/10
Great service, nothing to complain about!“

“Family party enjoying an engagement and birthday. Wanted a menu that catered to all. One side was Nepali and Tibetan. The other side was American. Think fried chicken sandwich. Awesome all around had a group of 10 all accommodated and others in restaurant were seated in 2 and 4's. Tasty food dumplings or mono shared and eaten. Vegetarian in family easily accommodated. Thank you Dawa's“

“This place in Queens was such a wonderful find! The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish packed with authentic Nepali flavors that felt like a true taste of home. Every bite was rich and satisfying, and you could tell they use fresh, high-quality ingredients. The staff was also welcoming and attentive, which made the experience even better. If you’re craving real Nepali food, I highly recommend Red Panda—it’s a place that does justice to our amazing cuisine!“

“Momo Crave: A Flavorful Journey
Momo Crave is a hidden gem that offers an unforgettable culinary experience. Their momos are simply divine! The dough is perfectly tender, and the fillings are bursting with flavor. I've tried their chicken, vegetable Momos, and each one was a masterpiece.
The accompanying dipping sauces are the perfect complement. The spicy tomato chutney and the tangy tamarind sauce add a delightful kick to every bite. The service is friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. If you're looking for authentic Nepalese cuisine, Momo Crave is a must-visit!“

“I recently had the pleasure of dining at Taste of Himalaya, and it was nothing short of an extraordinary experience. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with the warm, inviting aromas of authentic Himalayan spices, instantly transporting me back to the flavors of home.
The food was absolutely amazing, bursting with rich and complex flavors that perfectly balanced warmth and spice. The beef sukuti was a standout dish—perfectly seasoned, tender, and rich in flavor. It had that distinct smoky essence that brought back memories of traditional meals prepared with care and authenticity. The tingmo, a soft and fluffy steamed bread, was an ideal complement, perfect for soaking up the rich and savory flavors of the sukuti. The momo (dumplings) were also tender and flavorful, rounding out an exceptional meal.
What truly set this experience apart was how every bite evoked memories of home—family gatherings, celebrations, and the comforting sense of belonging. It’s rare to find a place that not only serves incredible food but also stirs the heart with a sense of nostalgia.
Taste of Himalaya is more than just a restaurant; it’s a culinary journey back home. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience the true flavors of the Himalayas.“

“Overall, it was pretty good. Chili chicken momos were really good and stayed crispy even when cooked in sauce. The garlic naan was fantastic and very well made. The vegetable thali was overall really good, but the dal was a little bland, in my opinion. They're very generous with the amount of rice they give you.
I was a little disappointed by the tandoori chicken. It was a little underseasoned, and one of the pieces was very overcooked and dry. The butter chicken was made well and tasted alright; it was too sweet/not savory enough for me. Too much added sugar, personally.
Service was good.“

“Ordered takeout on a windy, rainy day. The owners were kind enough to offer a mug of hot water while I waited for the food. The beef and vegetable momos are flavorful. About 4 pieces can feed an adult. The atmosphere is very comforting and homey. Decor is very nice and energy is very relaxed.“

“Fantastic Nepalese food! I had the vegetable thukpa, which was deliciously spiced and came in a large portion filled with fresh noodles and vegetables. The server also gave out complimentary vegetable pakoras, which were incredible, especially with the spicy sauces on the table. Also had a tasty masala chai.
Great and affordable food with a nice outdoor space; tons of options for vegans and vegetarians!“

“This is a nice, smaller Indian restaurant. The staff was extremely friendly and the service was very good. The prices were very reasonable, especially for NYC. The meals were good sized portions- we were disappointed that we couldn't take our leftovers back to our hotel because it lacked a fridge and microwave- would've made a great lunch the next day.
We shared Tandoori Chicken, Saag Paneer, Butter Chicken and Garlic Naan- ALL very good. They do not serve alcohol- that was the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. A nice cocktail or beer would have gone along well with the meal. Otherwise, we really enjoyed the food.“

“I usually don't review places that I love this much for fear that it will become overcrowded in time. But I also don't want this place to ever go out of business. Well, not the best Tibetan restaurant I've been to, it is very good, especially for the cost. A great addition to the neighborhood. The portions are adequate enough to leave satisfied, but if you're extremely hungry, you'll want some appetizers. Parking in the neighborhood is okay and it's literally next to the Q train. A true find and a hole in the wall that you'll walk by a few times before you realize it's there. Seating is limited and not recommended for large parties.
The servers are pleasant, but they should warn typical Americans expectations that the appetizers don't always come before the meal due to the cooking time.
Last I ordered The Mango Chicken, which was excellent and the vegan momos which weren't as flavorful as I would have hoped. The chili dishes are excellent.
Vegetarian options: There are plenty to choose from for vegetarians and vegans.
Parking: Street parking is adequate.“

“Hands down the best Nepalese food I’ve ever had. Chicken momos were layered w flavor inside and had thin and flaky wrapping fried crisp, thalis were stacked w so many seriously delicious components. Fish curry was tender, fresh, and complex. Plain lassi was the perfect compliment to it all. The service was outstanding, extremely attentive and helpful. Will absolutely be returning!“

“Great little spot for a mid-week dinner, especially if you like momos. It is tiny with only three tables but I didn’t have any problems. The service was super friendly and the food was excellent! I started with the wai wai sodheko, a dish I’ve not had before and it was so good. Like a crunchy instant noodle salad with lots of spices. And then the chef chili momos - also really good. And everything was really inexpensive. I’ll be back!“

“We always come and get whole bag of Selroti when we visit NY. No other place makes sel like them. And if you have not had or know what Sel is it’s regarded as Nepali Dougnut but personally it’s something completely different. Chia and Sel combo is the best and this is the place to get.“

“It's good, but, since I am a Nepali and have tried their food back home, I'd say it's not the same as it was back home. But, then again, ingredients change the taste, so, I would say this place is worth trying and you never know you might love the food. :)“

“I recently visited Namaste Momos and tried their Chicken Chowmein & Chicken Fried Rice. The food was flavorful with a good balance of spices, and the chicken was well-cooked and tender. The portion size was satisfying, and the noodles had the perfect texture. The service was prompt, and the ambiance was pleasant for a quick meal. Overall, a great spot for delicious and affordable food. I'll definitely be back to try more of their menu!“

“Slow service because it's always busy!! Must try all their momo. Jhol Momo was my favorite, both chicken and goat. Perfect blend of spiced soup with the savory deliciousness of the momo. Think of it as a spicy soup dumpling. Their veg thupa was warm and delicious for a cold winter night, would recommend getting it with egg.
Fried rice and noodles weren't great - wouldn't recommend.
All their Thali's looked amazing as well!“

“Great addition to the neighborhood. Perfect for a date night. Delicious and inventive food and cocktails. The cocktails are soju based. We came for the a la carte menu and the standout dishes for us were the longgonisa, the momo, the trout, and number one was the pork belly. The rice it comes with is insanely good; I think you can order just the rice as a side. Get the rice and thank me later. Will definitely be returning for the tasting menu“

“Amazing momos, I love the beef momos steamed personally. I find it best to steam them myself because then its steam just the right amount. If you do buy steamed momos of the truck you will likely not have to wait however, its very fast! Been going here for years and steamed over 600-800 momos so far!“

“This place is amazing! Nangma means melody and it makes us sing every time we go there. The Chong Qing Chili Chicken is one of our favorites! But don’t sleep on the Shoko Phing Soup, Tibetan Style. It will cure anything that ails. Sides that are awesome every time are the green beans, bok choy and the cauliflower casserole. Also the Spicy Fish Fillet with Tofu is out of this world. Anything you pick you can’t go wrong. Very affordable prices and the service is excellent, they treat you like family! Nordan is so sweet and helps us find something new to try.“

“This was the only momo food truck that was actually ready to help customers, palato truck across street didnt even come to the truck window to take my order.
Moms momos was perfect for momos. The employee explained everything and i got my order. The veggie momos were good, kind of bland flavorwise but the hot chili sauce addition gave it the kick i wanted.
Momo is a good late night spot in my opinion. I will be back“
