“Whenever I'm in Merrick, which is usually two or three times a month, I always stop at Bagelman of Merrick. They have the best bacon and egg sandwiches and their tuna and chicken salads are always a welcome sight back home. Their bagels are always fresh and flavorful no matter what variety I get. I've come to know the owner, Boris, and his staff, and they are always most helpful. Looking forward to my next trip to Merrick.“

The bagels are great especially when they just came out of the oven and are still hot. I usually order an everything bagel. The cream cheese and lox spread is very tasty and so is the scallion cream cheese.“

“My wife was looking for a bakery who made eggless cakes and she stumbled upon this bakery by chance. She ordered a custom made gulab jamun flavored eggless cakes and. It was definitely one of the best cakes I had especially for my birthday. My folks also grabbed a few puffs - mixed vegetable and paneer puffs while they went to grab the cake. Those were spicy and delicious as well. We will be ordering regularly from this bakery moving forward. Definitely want to try all their different flavored items. Highly recommended!“

“I stopped in to Emilia’s Bakehouse Café on Walt Whitman Rd in Melville yesterday (they have another location in E. Northport) and boy, was I glad I did! I entered into a well-lit shop filled with pastries, scones, cookies, brownies, croissants, breads and quiches, etc. and was greeted with enthusiasm and a smile by 2 attractive young ladies. It was a great vibe just being there, very stress relieving. The chocolate brownie is perfection in texture and taste! The scones and peanut butter coconut power bites are delicious! Their organic Colombian coffee is the bomb, and you can get it with your favorite milk - for me it’s Oat Planet oat milk. Stop in, it’ll make your day! A feast for the eyes and tastebuds :)“

“The food was amazing, I got the Texas Hold ‘em but with grilled chicken and they did an amazing job. They cook the chicken/bacon right in front of your eyes, plus the food tastes incredibly fresh. I recommend getting one of their panini’s, they know what they are doing and most likely what they have on the menu is a really good idea.The place has a huge drink selection on the wall, a few shelves full of chips, and the menu is incredibly easy to read and it actually includes the ingredients which you don’t see anymore nowadays.The staff was super nice and took your order quickly, somehow the (I believe manager) remembered my order (Texas hold ‘em with grilled chicken) in just three visits.Sadly soon I’ll have to leave New York and won’t be able to eat here anytime soon, but I will remember this place.“

This is the same bakery that was immortalized at the Brooklyn Children’s Museum, and has a cult following for its conchas, tamales and milanesa and pierna tortas. The Westbury location is also tended by members of Don Paco López’ family so quality is guaranteed. The bread is fresh, made daily (by hand). I had an order or Bavarian cream-filled churros for a school event and they were a smashing hit. Give it a try, you won’t regret it.

We love walking to the bakery with our dogs, getting a snack and a coffee (their iced coffee has coffee iced cubes, which is such a nice touch), so for our small wedding we called and asked if they could bake our wedding cake.Well, as this photo hopefully suggests, they did an incredible job. Cat was so unbelievably kind and helpful and responsive in working with me to design our dream cake. It was reasonably priced, designed perfectly and was utterly delicious. “A Gem! I Came here Christmas Eve in the am and saw long lines out the door. I waited patiently it’s an Amazing old school bakery with traditional Italian made specialties. I came for the Italian cheesecake and left with the American style it was out of this world! I dare you to find a better one. It’s serious! Decadent, creamy with a light Graham cracker crust cooked to perfection. My family went wild for it. Everyone ahead of me in line left with one or 2. I also bought a linzer tart and semolina baguette very good. Gabby helped me and she was a doll. I will be back, I highly recommend this place prices are more than fair for the quality. Delicious! “I go to Diane’s all the time for coffee and baked goods, at least once a week. I invited new moms and dads from the Roslyn school today for a gathering at Diane’s this morning to support local business. We had about 12 people. Sat outside at the patio where the shaded area was. Everybody all bought coffee and pastries. We arranged the tables and chairs in a long row so we could see each other. Later we were told by Diane, the owner, that she wasn’t happy that we rearranged her tables and sat together in a row. Why? The place wasn’t crowded with other guests. We all bought and paid for goods. I couldn’t help but thinking that because we were all Asians?! She could ask us kindly to put the tables and chairs back once we finish, which we did without being asked at the end. But with the unwelcoming remarks I will never come to support this business again. I don’t say this lightly but I felt it was discrimination in every way. I’m truly disappointed. I love Diane’s and the yummy treats but the owner was truly unkind. I share this post here because I don’t think this business supports diversity, which is a shame because this community is becoming more and more diversified.“
