“Funny, the first thing I thought of before writing this was how nervous I was about getting back to our hotel in Athens b/c I had NO service/no GPS in this woodsy enclave. But it all turned out OK once we started driving away from one of the best nights we'd had in a long time. First of all: take the "no reservations" policy seriously. Get there early if it's suitable for you. It also means that once you grab a table, it's not yours for the night. Fair enough and true to hospitable form the staff will find a spot for you & take care of you (we ended up sharing a table with a super nice local couple, and we had so much to talk about before & after the music). We went there to see Don Byron (!!!) with an exceptional band. 5 feet in front of me and no phones, just people listening & absorbing, not phone filming. A nice change from the stadium concerts of the summer. Burger was excellent; yes, the waiter was correct in suggesting the double. Fries could have been more crunchy but that's a minor quibble. Good drinks & beer selection. Super charming spot, wonder what it's like in the Lodge? may have to come back to find out.“

“Excellent Apres Ski joint! If you don't want to be waiting for a table or spot at the bar leave the mtn a little before the lifts close bc this is the place to be.Excellent staff! Excellent food! And of course excellent beer! (You should try the Bailey's Hot chocolate though! )“

“It,s been awhile since I have been to Snyders as a matter the owner Chet was 18 at the time the same as me and my friend Ed Lipfert,this was the summer of 1964.Looking at the pictures it looks exactly the same.We just got out of high school and spent the summer in West Shokan,btw the beer was cold.“

“Went for the music, stayed for the food. Burgers were top notch, fried rice was awesome, housemaid spring rolls warranted a second order, bottom line all the good was excellent. Wonderful place to hang while visiting Woodstock with a great vibe.“

“My wife and I loved an affordable, comfy, and clean place to stay while we skied at Belleayre. Coffee in the AM was great and were total coffee snobs! We used to frequent this area several years ago and a few things have since closed down, meaning you’ll need to drive over to Arkville for general supplies. Most places nearby seemed to open around 8am and close on the earlier side. Although we visited during the week and saw that they would make you breakfast on the weekend.Expect traditional Catskills lodging.We’ve eaten at the tavern in the past and it was great. Didn’t make it on our last visit.“

“Best place near Phoenicia. Always had lot of fun there. Best Pizza and lot of choices for draft beers!!!It has become a routine to stop by this place whenever I’m around Phoenicia. ?Parking: Parking is by the side of restaurant and we mostly park on the street infront of the place.“

“My wife and I returned to The Phoenician after being away for several months. Everything was excellent as we remembered, awesome drinks, great service and of course delicious food. We had the French Onion soup which was amazing, and the warm kale salad to begin. Never knew kale could be made to taste so good! Then my wife had the pasta special and I had the risotto. Both were really good and filling. To top it off, we shared the almond joy ice cream dessert which we remembered from last time, and it was delicious. And of course the wine, The Phoenician always has a great selection of wines, reasonably priced. Thanks again!“
