“My opinion is 8.7/10. Is it the best Jamaican beef patty I've ever had? No but overall our place that makes handmade Jamaican beef patties with a good overall flavor I recommend it. “I came here twice and I must say that the curry goat and fried chicken is the best. I order a medium curry goat with white rice and a side of fried chicken. 10/10. But for $26?! The issue is that you can’t really get what you want. Hear me out for example… you can’t get a small order of oxtail….like?! You can only get a medium size with a side. It’s overpriced. Just by looking at it I can tell it’s not even worth the price. Also if you get like a medium size meal with any meat and rice you can’t get it with plantain. It’s extra charge. BUT I WILL SAY THAT THE PORTION IS WORTH IT. THEY GIVE MORE. I’ve tried the Mac and cheese and it was baaaadd. Just cheese and unseasoned roux. That’s if they use roux. It’s oily and you can’t even see or smell a spec of seasoning. Taste like a sweet treat no shade. The fried chicken though I give that 15/10. Tastes better than Kennedys. The goat meat falls off the bonnnneeee. The rice is perfect; not too mushy and not too rough. I’m on my way there right now😂😂. Is it worth trying? Hell yeah. The Mac and cheese though.. that’s to your advantage.“

“I work at the hospital nearby so I frequent this location a lot😅 I’m vegetarian, and everytime I go there for my spinach patty they always make the extra effort to have them either ready, or made fresh for me. The entire staff is super nice and goes above and beyond. Gabby is one of the sweetest people there and I appreciate her soooo much for always making sure I’m able to get my veggie patty. It makes my whole day. Love this location <3“

“Been coming here for 5 plus years. Wish I knew about them sooner than that! Amazing, fresh, flavorful patties. Carrot cake is soooooo good- just go! I travel from the Bronx to get the staples plus the real Lemonade. l wanted to say thank you for not only good food- but kindness and family feels. Currently eating my last patty and coco bread I purchased yesterday. still fresh and amazing today. I always get extra everything and reheat it the next day. You can literally smell the goodness of the food and the love of the people which is a beautiful thing and you don’t get often and I finally had curry goat, and it was amazing. “I absolutely love this spot! Any time I am in the Bronx I have to stop in and get my favorite curry chicken with rice(lathered in that curry gravy) and peas and cabbage😋…. My wife’s favorite dish is the oxtail with rice and peas and cabbage of course. Their fried chicken goes well with brown stew chicken gravy. I’ve had their jerk chicken, curry goat, brown stewed chicken, Mac and cheese is also really good. I have been meaning to try the salmon and their shrimp, I think that will be next. I will say aside from that, you can expect friendly service. Atmosphere is calming 🤗 did I say I love this place? 😬“

“I love and support Cravin resturant because its authentic and I myself am Jamaican. However the service is slow and the ladies ringing people up are young and dont seem to want to work there. There was 2 people in the whole place when I went and waited nearly 10 minutes to just ask if they had something and waited again as one girl bagged and the other chatted. In all I left without getting food because I refused to wait any longer just to order... This is an in and out City and the service should match. I will still go to this place...but i will order ahead and hopefully my experience will be different“

“First let me see that I am always purchasing food from Cravin Mt. Vernon, and I am always satisfied until yesterday. The reason for the 4 stars is because my food had mostly saltfish and no ackee. If I'm paying $18 for ackee and saltfish, I would like to see my meal to match the price, which it didn't. There need to be a balance.“

“I visited this place twice and enjoyed the food on both occasions. On my first visit, I had the rice and peas and jerk chicken, which was solid. On my second visit, I tried the rice and peas and kingfish, which was also good. However, the price of the kingfish seemed a bit high for the portion size.

Macaroni looks appealing, but it wasn’t very good. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Dumplings are good.

“Very good food, drinks (descent) and atmosphere. The owners are friendly and will accommodate you as much as possible. I remember my very first time going there it was my 2018 2nd Masters Graduation celebration. The owner surprised me with a nice setting with tables and covered chairs, great lighting and the aviance was breathtaking. My guest, family and I thought it was quite impressive. The prices are reasonable as well.“

The atmosphere doesn't look very inviting. It says: come in, get your food and get out. The place is dim and could use a face lift. “I had no problems here. Prices were excellent for the two meals and the portions I received were more than enough. Location is perfect since it's right near the train station. So if you're in a rush, they'll definitely take care of you. Coming here again for sure.“

“I absolutely LOVE the food. I got a plate with oxtails, rice & peas, plantains and he makes sure your plate is full. Everything tasted like it was seasoned perfectly, the gravy was surprisingly light and delicious. I’m 1000% going back.
I sincerely doubt the bad reviews are from him, the plates aren’t even the same. I met his Mom too and she was really sweet! Made the experience even better ?

“Talk about the best Jamaica restaurant in the Northeast Bronx. Whatever is on the menu, it’s finger licking. Good customer service . Fast service , you will be in and out .. They give you a lot of oxtail gravy lol . The steam fish , fry chicken and oxtail is a must when you go there .“
