I opted for the soft shell crab sandwich and without a doubt the BEST I've ever had. This restaurant is a little far off from where I live BUT I, without a doubt, will be visiting again. “I love Bliss on a Friday night! They have live music and a great ambiance. I enjoy soft amber lights and a quieter environment as the restaurant is not too big and is long vs wide, therefore not overly loud. The food is delicious! Steaks are never overcooked and the kitchen is flexible for substitutions of sides and holding ingredients. My husband says that pasta is amazing. Drinks are made correctly and the alcohol is true to brand (YKWIM?) The waitstaff is attentive, consistent and professional. The owner is always present and looking to make patrons happy. Everyone working there is kind and does their best to make people comfortable. I recommend a reservation as they are usually full, including the bar.“

From the moment we walked through the door on a busy Saturday night at 7:00pm we walk in simply based on a great name! The hostess Deanna was lovely and welcoming we were able to sit right away! The food was absolutely amazing and so were the drinks!! But the star of the show was the staff our waitress Emily was the best we have ever had! Just the right amount of attentive that we never looked for her and always felt taking care up. The busser also did an amazing job never a dirty plate on our table. We go out alot and I can’t remember the last time a restaurant covered it all flawlessly Service drinks and food. We have already texted friend excited to bring them here! “I can not believe that this restaurant has been here on Main Street in Port Jefferson Village for over 20 years and I never ate there!!! This is my new Favorite place to eat. “First time there tonight for a birthday dinner. WOW is an understatement. Sat outside with a beautiful sunset view. We had the short rib special, the sea bass and the swordfish entrees and they were delicious! The mussels in white sauce to start and the (clearly) homemade peanut butter and chocolate & carrot cake desserts were phenomenal. Our waitress Jaimie was the BEST-so sweet and welcoming-all of her recommendations from cocktails to entrees to dessert were spot on. We can’t wait to come back!“

We made a reservation ahead of time and because of this we were seated immediately upon arrival at a cute corner table inside of the Gold Bar section. Although it was a bit crowded at the bar thankfully the noise level wasn't too bad. Our server Robert was amazing from the beginning and made the experience that much better! The food was absolutely delicious!! We both got filets that were cooked to perfection, the mashed potatoes were so creamy and smooth and the five cheese Mac was my favorite for sure, it was so flavorful and luscious. I believe it was one of the managers that checked in on us mid meal and made sure everything was to our liking, which it was beyond our expectations. Robert made sure our glasses were always full and that we had such a great time! 10/10 will be returning to dine again soon!!“

“Had the pleasure of choosing Tara Inn for lunch today, every establishment can learn a lesson from the customer service that my friend and I experienced. Upon walking in we were greeted by Peter, Tara’s husband and son-in-law of the founder who named the bar for his daughter 47 years ago. We told him it was our first visit and he offered us seats and welcomed us. The regulars at the bar guided us through the menu and we each had a burger with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles for $1 per burger expecting very small burgers we were surprised to find them standard sized and deliciously prepared to medium. My friend had the fried shrimp and I had a $13 steamed lobster! Excellent! They offer daily specials and one of the gentleman at the bar told me their steaks are very good. Every staff person went out of their way to make us feel at home. A charismatic women came out from the back and introduced herself as Tara she thanked us for choosing to lunch there. Why can’t other places realize the importance of making a first time patron feel welcome. I
Had a great afternoon enjoying the excellent variety of beers that they provide on tap. The charming decor has probably changed little since the ‘70s and that adds to the vibe. If you want to go to the friendliest bar on Long Island, head over to Tara Inn.“

“Last night we (2 couples) went to Ruth Chris Steak House in Lake Grove, NY for dinner and had the best dinning experience we have had in awhile. It is now our favorite steak restaurant. The food is outstanding, compliments to the chief!! Also, I would like to comment on our waitress, Kim, who is terrific!!! She was so attentive to all our requests, took care of us all night. Also, the manager is a real gentleman, and he also made us feel comfortable and special. Without a doubt, this is the best steak restaurant on the Island, we have been to most of the upscale restaurants here and we rate this the best. “My husband and I have been eating here pretty much once a week for almost 20 years. We usually get take out and create our own in home date night. By far the freshest and most delicious sushi we’ve ever had. Period. They keep the menu very clean, as opposed to other places we’ve tried where everything is caked in sauce and all just taste the same. You will not be disappointed.
Favorites: Alan roll, Peter roll (as for extra sauce on the side), Cooper roll (not on the menu but was on their old menu. You can still ask for it) and the deep impact.“

“I stumbled upon this place as I was looking for a luncheonette I used to go to years ago. Bad news is the luncheonette is no longer there, replaced by a cigar shop, but the good news is Pupuseria is so much better! I was reluctant to go in at first because it looks more like a deli or sandwich shop, but as I walked in, I immediately knew I was going to like it. It's small with maybe 5-6 tables, but it looks like you can eat off the floor because everything is so clean. And the food was absolutely delicious! If you like Latin American food, you'll love this place. And the best part is, it's quick and inexpensive.“
