“I attended a surprise party this Saturday evening. The cuisine was preselected, waiter service was excellent, should receive raises. The table arrangement was very poor. The party was downstairs in one of the private rooms. We were 25 people at one very long table, basically the length of the room, which made it difficult for guests to get around the seated persons at the head of the table on either side. Having two tables would have been a better arrangement, but one long table was not conducive for conversation since we were so far from the other end of the table. The food; not many complaints, I really didn’t have a problem. I didn’t have a lot of food, but it was delicious. The dessert, sorry not very good. Those Famous Crepes(palacinkes) sorry not that great. A lot of crepe and not a lot of filling. The dish was served with fruit, unfortunately this fruit was not in season, so the watermelon although it added color to the dish, upon tasting it, left much to be desired. Why not serve fruit that is in season? No offense to my party hosts who selected my menu for the evening, it didn’t lend itself to the 5 Star Reputation of Dubrovnik’s. I would like to make reservations and splurge on a dinner on my own, I have a feeling I would LOVE the experience! Btw, another plus was the parking!“

“What a delicious, pleasant surprise this little restaurant was! When I walked in I honestly didn't expect too much because it was small and completely empty, and could have been a little cleaner. However the food was outstanding, and I am VERY picky. My friend and I split a ginormous Greek salad (the stuffed grape leaves were unbelievable), and we each ordered a gyro. Mine was chicken and so good! We also ordered the side of fries, and for $4 we received a large basket of fresh, hand cut, perfectly cooked fries. I don't live anywhere New Rochelle but I'm hoping to make it back there!“

Big parties book this restaurant for not only the space but the delicious food. Tried three spreads, their spinach side, and their salmon with rice. “Met some out-of-town friends here on a Sat at 11a for brunch. The atmosphere is incredible, not very crowded, with lots of outdoors covered seating. I got the farmer’s omelette which was nothing special. However, the ceviche was outstanding and flavorful. I highly recommend. My wife got the Fennel Avocado salad and octopus appetizer. She loved both. She only wished the fennel pieces were cut in thirds. The portions are average in size and prices more akin to NYC than Rye. But overall we were happy.“

The service is outstanding; the owner invited us in while we were waiting for our friends to arrive, and gave us free samples of their delicious falafel. As for cleanliness, the place was virtually spotless. In a region where the closest thing we have to shawarma is usually “gyro meat” (slices off of a cone of pre-ground mystery meat with all kinds of fillers), having an authentic shawarma place nearby is wonderful.“

This is the place for those perfect aperol spritzies & fresh food. Fresh bread & imported olive oil served to start. We then ordered the Mediterranea Salad which was so refreshing: tomatoes, red peppers, cucumber, red onion, feta & light lemon dressing - great start. Margherita pizza & the Chicken Parm were both outstanding. Pizza is the perfect size, light but crispy with san marzano tomatoes, mozzarella fior di latte, evoo & basil. The Chicken Parm is understated, but hits all the marks - chicken pounded thin, crispy breading, tangy sauce & fresh parm.

Same owner as Cafe Alaia, which we're trying next, but this spot is already heavy in our rotation from now on.

“Husband and I finally dined here a little over a week ago for an early birthday dinner for me and the entire experience was nothing short of sublime. Although I was tempted by the views from the window-side tables, I wanted the Kitchen Table experience, and it was an excellent choice. We drove down from Dutchess County (fyi, whoever designed the Taconic Parkway should be fired, but I digress). The complimentary valet parking made our arrival easy. We were directed to the elevator and from the moment we got off on the floor of the restaurant, we were greeted immediately, and the entire staff was incredibly attentive, polite, and welcoming. The main dining areas are nicely decorated and subtly sophisticated. The chef’s table experience was phenomenal. We got very personal attention from the chef and staff members, and enjoyed watching (and inhaling the aromas from) both the main kitchen and pastry side during our meal. The service was excellent and attentive without being overbearing. Water and wine were poured promptly, the pacing of the courses was perfect, and the explanation for the dishes and wine were appreciated. We decided to get the wine pairing, and the pours were both generous and excellently paired with the courses. It was a lot of wine so by the 4th or 5th glass, I was really feeling it and enjoying myself, to say the least. The food was outstanding across the board. I love seafood so I was quite happy with the 7 fish offerings. We started out with 3 different breads, all different and all delicious, and I’m pretty sure I ate the roasted yeast butter on its own, and then uni and yellowtail, which are 2 of my favorites. It feels kind of dismissive to say “all of the courses were delicious,” but they really were. The black cod, iberico pork shoulder with fava been puree, and the prime dry aged rib eye were probably my favorite courses. I wish I had more room since the chef offered us additional rib eye, but I was pretty much at capacity and we still had dessert. The meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The iberico pork dish was crispy, salty, full of umami flavor, and it paired perfectly with the grassy, herbaceous, and silky fava bean puree. There was only one course that I wasn’t as enthusiastic about, the bacalhau a bras carmelle. Each course was so good that I couldn’t wait to see if the next would top it. Each course was a few bites, leading up to the larger beef at the end. Of the 3 dessert courses, the first 2 were my favorite. The first was “pear” which was a contrast of textures and temperatures. It was really outstanding and the cold bits in the dessert were a nice, light contrast to the heavy meal we had just finished. The next was a tart/cold dessert with sweet potato shavings and biscuit-like crackers (my dearest apologies to the pastry chef, I cannot describe it any better). It was all so different and worked well together. Again, the contrast in textures/temperature/flavors worked so well together. By the last dessert course, I was fairly stuffed and couldn’t finish. Again, there was a savory component (lettuce) that was (and I’m guessing here) caramelized so it was sweet and I ate both pieces. There was a custard as well and the crust was so flaky, and I was sorry that I couldn’t eat more of it. 3 ½ hours later, we waddled out quite satisfied and happy. Next time, we’d skip the wine pairing because it was simply too much but I can’t wait to visit here again and try new dishes. I don’t think I can accurately convey how delicious our food was or what a great time we had.“

For the main course, we had the steak and frites, which were cooked perfectly and full of flavor. To finish, we shared the cookie skillet, and it was warm, fresh, and so good!

What made our visit even more special was the staff. Every worker was so kind, sweet, and welcoming. We never felt rushed while eating, and everyone was genuinely attentive and compassionate. “The octopus is PERFECTLY cooked. The flavors are incredible. I only wish it came with some potato or salad underneath. We also got the lamb fricassee, that sauce is so lovely and lemony. I think the lamb was just a touch over cooked but that is my only note on that dish. We got a half portion of rice on the side and I would recommend so you can savor every last bit of the sauce! The service is great, and I love the atmosphere. It feels like old New York and you are surrounded by Greek families in the restaurant. They gave bread with a delish vinegar and the end of the meal was a nice rice pudding dessert on the house. I will definitely be coming back!“
