“Went in last night for my Birthday dinner, ordered some seafood flatbread / chicken tenders / smoked salmon / the mashed potatoes & the mussels which was recommended by the waiter, absolutely loved the Mussels & didn’t try any main course as we were already stuffed & had a late dinner.“

“Traveling home from a wedding in Columbus OH to home in Maine we pinned the halfway point to stop over. We discovered this gem of a restaurant of MJ's on the Susquehanna River in historic Owego, NY. We dined ohe deck by the river. We ate the butter lettuce pockets of vegetables and a Greek salad. DELICIOUS! Having been so sensible with our vegetarian supper we shared the pan cooked chocolate chip cookie with ice cream and caramel sauce. Great service, decor, funk factor, clean and good. We may live 8 hours away, but this dining experience makes it worth returning for. Plus there are plenty of interesting places to see in this part of NY.“

“Our first time was a delight! Stopped in while traveling. Cozy little diner with a terrifically friendly staff! My friend had breakfast and loved the home fries and hash. I opted for a simple Turkey Club and onion rings. Very good! Of course, we had to have Baklava Cheesecake to go! I’ll remember the cute little River Rock Diner on our next trip through!“

“My children and I stumbled upon your wonderful establishment today after a friend recommended. We shared a few desserts and a milkshake. My son said he had the, “best soup of his life”. The kids couldn’t believe it was all gluten free (they usually complain about mom’s dietary limitations). The service was friendly and the prices were very reasonable. “Take a break is a quiet diner with plenty of room inside.

The staff is nice and the atmosphere is calm.

I got some cake and cannolis from the dessert counter and took them home. The cannolis were really good. The outside crust wasn't crispy but it maintained its structure and flavor. The texture became similar to a sweet flatbread. I loved it!

The cake I had tasted good. It had all the right ratios of flavor and cake to frosting balance. But one thing made me dislike it.

The cake, unfortunately was pretty dry and stale. It gave me the impression that Take a Break's desserts aren't baked fresh daily. I don't hold that against them, baking can be hard and tedious, especially in prepping. The cakes are really big and pretty too. I'm certain whomever bakes the desserts works really hard. I appreciate their labor.

If I might make a suggestion. Maybe instead of one big cake they can make two smaller ones. Serve one cake, and reserve half the batter to make the second fresh cake later? I'd rather see my favorite desserts sold out and wait for a fresh one. :)“

An institution in Endwell New York since 1942.Good food at good prices.Tonight I ordered the Southwest Burger with curly fries.The burger topped with: bacon, onion rings, Chipotle mayo, jalapeños, lettuce and tomato.Had a nice taste. The jalapeños and Chipotle mayo, give it the right amount of heat.The bacon and onion rings gave added flavor.The menu has a wide variety of options pizza, wraps, salads, sandwiches, burgers even a kids menu.I even know someone who has a drink named after them at the Galley.Give them a try for good food with a great atmosphere.“

“Amazing place to go for a drink. I went by myself and was immediately welcomed by everyone there. Bartender was great. Knowledge on drinks I can not speak for but he (steve) was friendly quick and helpful. A great place for regulars and new patrons alike. A place to take your drink and smoke if you are so inclined and the prices are fair for the economy we live in today. I not only recommend jb's I plan to return there again. Small but big hearted.“
