“My husband and I had another terrific meal at Broadway Bistro last evening.
We ordered from the special prix fixe menu that had so many great choices, it was hard to choose.
We settled on the scallops over polenta and the spring rolls with teryaki to start, and the panko horseradish flounder and grilled shrimp salad. Desert was the poached pear with raspberry sorbet.
Everything was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The wait staff is friendly and extremely efficient, and just make dining there such a terrific experience!“

It's a safe bet that you'll get an enjoyable meal at Strawberry Place.“

“This restaurant has potential for people looking for vegetarian dishes but things can be improved.

I ordered the veggie bowl, specifically because it contained avocado. When my plate arrived it was missing two ingredients, the sauerkraut and the avocado. I told the cashier about the missing ingredients and she brought me sauerkraut but they did not have avocado.

This situation could be fixed if the cook had told the cashier that there was no avocado. That way the cashier can tell the customers and they would be able to order another dish. That is how things work in other restaurants.

Additionally, I found the beans a bit bland. The flavor of the beans could be improved by cooking the beans with a little onion and fresh garlic, or a bit of cilantro.

In conclusion, there is a good variety of vegetarian dishes, the experience could be improved by proper communication between the staff and flavor enhancement. I hope to see these changes in the future.“

“We hosted an intimate wedding celebration in the elegant party room at Jean-Jacques. It was a joy to work with Donna Sullivan, who handles functions. She provided us with expert guidance in choosing the menu and every other detail. The room looked gorgeous, the food was exquisite and our guests were well cared for by Donna and the other servers. We received so many compliments from the attendees who remarked that they had a wonderful time and that the food was delicious. The bride and groom, and all of their friends and family, enjoyed themselves immensely and were able to meet, connect and have conversation in an elegant atmosphere. The party room is indeed a hidden gem at this premiere bakery and cafe in Pleasantville. My husband and I are not from the area and had never been to Jean-Jacques, but I contacted Jean-Jacques at the recommendation of a family member and couldn’t have been more pleased. It was exactly what we wanted. We had ample room for 40 guests and a jazz piano player. From the appetizers, Bellinis, Prosecco, wine and other beverages, to the sumptuous gourmet buffet dinner to the most delicious celebratory cake, everything was PERFECT. A HUGE improvement over the previous ownership when it was called the Palisades Market which opened in the spring of 2010 and was only open for a few months and then closed. I was so disappointed with the Palisades Market because it lacked a decent food selection and this community needed something so much more. Luckily, the owners of the 9W Market have done such an amazing job! I’ve never had a bad meal here! The ingredients are high quality and super fresh! The atmosphere and ambiance is very relaxing and tranquil! Love the bistro theme on the indoor side and picnic theme by the filling station burger stand.
