“We order take out from here maybe once a month and we always get a large order when we do. Their food is always fresh, flavorful, and leaving us feeling fulfilled and satisfied! Their rolls have an excellent filling to rice ratio! My youngest son loves their California Rolls and anytime we get them elsewhere, he says he prefers from Sushi You. They are very thoughtful of presentation, preparation, and protection of the food en route. Super friendly on the phone and they always double check the order placed. “I recently moved to the area not knowing what places are good to eat. On a family walk one day, my husband suggested we try it. We ended up going two more times that same week. This place has the best hibachi meals and fresh tasting sushi. The prices are extremely reasonable considering how fresh the sushi tastes. We’ve ordered take out and dined in it and each time the customer services/ quality is the absolute best. Thinking of having my birthday dinner here!“

I gave Food/Service/Atmosphere 5 🌟 because they were on par for me. For a local spot, this really took me by surprise.

What I ordered:

Miso Soup:
Standard Miso Soup, nothing groundbreaking, but very tasty. Would have loved a tad more tofu & scallion, but that's just me.

Salmon Avocado Hand roll:
Not the hand roll I expected meaning it wasn't in the cone shape I'm familiar with, but it came presented like a taco with the seaweed as the shell. Salmon cuts were huge, and with great colour, avocado was bright & ripe, coupled with the perfect amount of rice. Everything tasted clean, and fresh.

Yellowtail Jalapeno Nigiri:
I messed up with this, originally I wanted a sushi roll, but my brain flubbed. Great mistake though, because the yellowtail was delicious, practically melted in my mouth, topped with a delicate cut of jalapeno on top.

Love Milk Tea:
Honestly, just a really delicious milk tea topped with osmanthus flower. It was light, refreshing, and not too sweet thankfully.

Wagyu Tataki:
Tataki is meant to be briefly seared on the outside, but the center remains raw. Was this seared to the degree I wanted? No. But, was it delicious? Yes. And the meat was incredibly tender, flavour of the sauces really complimented everything on the plate.

I finished off with a matcha cheesecake to go, I'm sure it'll be good.

With tip, I spent $67

Again, for a local spot in Richmond Hill/Kew Gardens, I was thoroughly impressed and satisfied. Personally, with slight adjustments, these folks would do great in midtown. I spent a little under what I would spend at a restaurant in the city, and got an incredibly satisfying meal, and left full.“

“Great place for a quick bite at a nice price! I had the Thinly Sliced Beef Donburi. It also came with egg, seaweed salad, and a nice miso soup to top it off. The beef was cooked very well and had a smoky flavor I’ve had in some of my favorite places in Japan. Would definitely come back here! 😁“

“I LOVE Linsway Grill. I’m so glad I found this place! The food is consistently delicious and flavorful. “Small cozy spot with a relaxed atmosphere. You order at the bar and the service is quick and friendly. No alcohol, but the focus is clearly on the food. The menu is small but thoughtfully put together, and everything feels fresh. The handroll sushi is especially great and definitely worth trying. A nice casual place to stop by when you want quality sushi without the fuss.“

“My wife and I had a great experience at Masaaki and truly enjoyed almost everything about it. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the space was clean and thoughtfully designed, and the overall vibe made it a great place to enjoy a meal.

The food was outstanding — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was perfect and clearly made with quality ingredients. We especially enjoyed the yaki oysters.

Service once we were seated was excellent. Our servers were attentive, friendly, and made sure everything ran smoothly throughout the meal.

The only downside was the experience with the front desk host. At the beginning and as we were leaving, there was no smile, no greeting and no “bye.” That lack of warmth really stood out, especially since everything else in the restaurant was handled so well. It felt unwelcoming and unprofessional and took away from what was otherwise a near-perfect visit.

Overall, the experience was almost perfect. I would absolutely return and recommend this restaurant, and with a more welcoming presence at the front desk, it would easily deserve a full 5-star rating.“

“I'd recommend this place ... sort of. We chose to sit on the dining side since it was only two of us and didn't want the "show". The service was friendly and good but not overly attentive. Our drinks were very good and a fair price (we had the Oceanside Zombie but without the Sprite added). We both ordered the hibachi surf and turf (lobster and filet mignon) which came with a house salad and clear soup, both of which we really enjoyed. The filet was tasty but the pieces were cut very unevenly so some pieces were medium rare and others were close to well done. The lobster tail was very small and too salty. I would not order it again. I was completely disappointed that the veggies were drowning in teriyaki sauce. There was no indication on the menu that they are served in sauce. I typically love hibachi vegetables but I hate teriyaki sauce! They reminded me more of Chinese takeout vegetables than Japanese hibachi. The fried rice was good but not the best. It came with lots of peas and I hate peas. Another disappointment but not a surprise was they don't offer hibachi mustard sauce. Like so many other places these days they offer yum yum sauce instead which we refused because, yuck yuck. They offered us some ice cream on the house (I think because the server knew I was very disappointed about the teriyaki sauce). It came to the table in little plastic cafeteria style cups with the pull back paper top. LOL. I'm glad it did though because the top listed the ingredients and let's just say, we immediately sent the ice cream back. All in all, not the greatest hibachi experience but also not the worst. I would maybe go back for drinks and try some other menu items ... and hold the teriyaki sauce!“

The employees were super nice and went out of their way to pull and extra table for us. I loved the authentic atmosphere. The lighting, decor, and the overall feeling of the restaurant was great! “Sushi yoshi was one of the only spots open before noon so we gave it a shot! Everything was fresh - exactly what you might want from the spicy rolls and the eel avocado was definitely our favorite. Don’t sleep on the Korean fried wings - the texture was crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. We were hoping for the spicy wings but got original instead I think - either way they were quality and delivery was fast.“
