“For Queens, sushi you is one of the most reliable and big bang for your buck. We order here at least once a week, the kids love it and we never had problems with quality of the fish. It’s perfect for family take out meals, we have 4 adults 3 minors, I order 6 rolls 2 salmon dinners (sushi and sashimi)2 trio sushi dinners, Plus the free dragon roll, everyone gets a happy belly. We’ve been ordering from here for 10 years ❤️

“My plus one and I really enjoyed our time here. We had just gotten home from vacation and were in a mood for Ramen and this place did not disappoint.
Let me just say that this place has such a traditional Japanese vibe to it…the staff is warm and welcoming and the food was spectacular.
We had the ramen, both original and spicy and it was very delicious. We also had two Asahi beers and called it a day.
Overall, I will come back to this place more often.“

“Possibly the greatest omakase experience I’ve had within the US. The ambience is incredible, with a secretive feel and almost cave-like decor. The playlist is excellent with a great homemade sound system. Chef Mark is not only an incredible chef, but a great host too. We chatted about music and about life stories, while my family ate the most fresh and delectable fish ever. 11/10 great experience.“

“I’m literally mid sushi while writing this. This place has the freshest sushi I’ve had in the area. I’m so serious, this is high quality sushi, great texture, great taste, fresh, and overall amazing. The salmon is buttery and the avocado is not hard or too mushy. It’s a bit pricier than other places, but it’s well worth the price. 10/10, I can’t believe I never entered until today.“

“New favorite local sushi take-out spot. Very friendly welcome when I walked in, told them my daughter really wants salmon and they were happy to custom one of the plates to include only salmon.

The salmon itself was excellent. Fresh and smooth texture, dare I say best I’ve had outside of Japan (was there in July).

“We have been ordering here for years but the price keeps going up on their platters - we usually get the XL sushi sashimi roll platter. It’s $140 at time of this review. Some of the rolls have a Korean flair with Korean pickled radish in them. A lot of spicy mayo is drizzled over the smaller rolls so it’s hard to tell what type of fish/roll you’re eating so keep that in mind if you have guests. Easy to order because you can’t choose.“

The owners have always been so welcoming and the chef makes the best sushi, on par with way more expensive restaurants that we’ve been to, LI to Manhattan. No joke. Def worth the $$. Provided good recommendations based on our budget, provided delivery (the location is close but we very much appreciated it given the large quantities), were punctual. “sushi was mid, and drove all the way out from Long Beach in this adventure to find the sushi restaurant and it was in the middle of a block and had high expectations but it was like a local neighborhood joint where everyone knows each other, but sushi was ok and like something id find in my corner block. had the maki b combo and kani salad and mikado roll, best was the spiccy tuna roll“

“Loved this sushi! The workers were very nice and our food typically only takes 10 minutes to be ready. We over the sweet potato roll, spicy tuna roll and the tofu skin roll. I always get the tofu roll and the tofu is flavorful with fresh rice and nicely ripened avocado. Would defintly recommend as the prices are quite reasonable.“

“Ordered chicken teriyaki lunch special. It was made fresh as I could hear the meat sizzling in the back and the wait didn't take too long (around 10-15 minutes).

The restaurant environment wasn't too great but I figured this is the kinda spot you order takeout from and, in that case, it's adequate for takeout. The chicken looks moist and well-sauced. The roll looks well-made with no browning on the avocado. Miso soup is comforting to have with chicken teriyaki over rice.

I have no complaints. 8.5/10

This place has expanded and has stayed standing for a reason. “The best Asian Bistro in town! I went for happy hour and the staff was so friendly. I had the soup dumplings and fresh sushi. Service was quick and easy. I highly recommend. The largest party room I’ve ever seen. I asked the manager and he said you can project anything on the screen on the wall. I will book my next event here.“

“We've found our new go-to sushi spot at Sushi Akio! The experience was exceptional from start to finish. The food was simply fantastic—every roll was incredibly fresh, and the flavors were on point. We especially loved the variety, ordering the Philadelphia, spicy salmon, spicy tuna, spicy shrimp, and eel avocado rolls. Each one was amazing.

The service was top-notch. The server was not only attentive but also incredibly kind, even letting us try their new mango salad on the house (which was delicious!). My father-in-law had the Salmon Mango, and it was a hit as well.

What truly stood out was how mindful they were of our son's sesame allergies. They took extra care to ensure everything was safe for him, which we deeply appreciated.

To top it all off, my wife accidentally left her phone on the table, and the server literally ran after us to return it. That level of care and attention to detail made our experience even more memorable.

If there is a wait it is just a couple of minutes, they try to get you started as quicky as possible.
