“Great Italian food and a decent menu, not much choice but not too much. It's located next to Post Office 34 and is very trendy. The view and service are great, but it's noisy as there isn't much to absorb the sound. We ordered focaccia, roasted peppers and pasta. Everything is great and super fresh.“
“Great place.. Amazing dishes and desserts. Amazing staff and host. Will definitely be back. —— If I had one con, it would be the speaker volume. It really needs to be at an appropriate dinner volume in that you can have a discussion with that people at your table and not shout. We asked twice for it to be lowered. But I’m unsure it was ever adjusted. Loud club-music volume while dining is just unnecessary.“
“been told by many their vegan slice is one of the best in the city. it was good, not the best I’ve had but certainly far from the worst. like a slice I’d enjoy if I am in the neighborhood, but not one I’d seek out if I’m closer to another spot yknow? kind of plain and a little flavorless but the crust was delicious lol. nice atmosphere inside“
“This is the best pizza I have ever had, nice crisp, light crust with just the right amount of toppings, no grease at all. I live in CT and thought no pizza was better than our New Haven ones, boy was I wrong!!! Looking forward to returning……soon!“
“It is very good but not worth going out of your way to obtain. Worth trying once if possible. We drove from Jersey, paid the toll, and waited 40 minutes for a margherita pie. We ate two slices freshly served, and they had a nice crispy bottom and balance of sauce. It was lacking a bit of salt for me. We ate another microwaved slice at home, and it tasted no different than any other Jersey pizza. Please note it takes at least 40 minutes to prepare from the time of placing a takeout order.“
“When we came we thought that it is going to be like many other good Neapolitan pizzas but it was simply THE BEST. Very nice environment and great service. The pizzas were so good and delicious so do the desserts. The many attempts we did for getting a reservation were completely worth it. Highly recommended!“
“A very good Italian address! Thin and delicious pizzas, be careful they are very large, in the photos they are the small ones! Possibility of having a half & half pizza: one recipe on one half, and a second on the other. Very friendly service. Booking is recommended !Vegetarian options: Lots of meatless pizzas“
“We always have amazing service at this location in Brooklyn, the owner is amazing and always our Waiter is amazing and friendly. This time today , the waiter wasn’t as attentive and we had all the plates from appetizers still on the table when the main course came , and when I ask cappuccino one other waiter which was attentive told us they wasn’t any milk, and when we ask our main waiter he said he was Going to double check and never came back to us with an answer but came back with the check. Just was one of those days where I wanted to be pampered as I always did here but it wasn’t today .“
“Was looking for a quality pizza place with a nice sit down experience, and a friend recommended John's. Delivered on every level. The dining room has efficient little booths crammed into a space full of old graffiti and celebrity photos. The soundtrack is Stevie Wonder and Ella Fitzgerald, both welcome. (Didn't have any wait at 11:30am.) And the pizza! Our large pie showed up in what felt like 5 min, and it was fantastic. The amazing sauce was clearly made in house -- a far cry from the crappy canned sauce so many places use. Ample cheese and a crisp, delicious crust made every part of it fantastic. Service was prompt and friendly. Highly recommended.“
“One of my favorite pizza spots in Brooklyn. They are known for their Detroit style square pies. Excellent soft dough with delicious sauce & cheese. The inside is very electric & creatively put together. My first Detroit style pizza experience & I loved it.Parking: Paid street parking available outside but can be a bit difficult to find an available spot.“
“we thoroughly enjoyed eating here! we were a group of 30 and they seated us in their outdoor patio. the owner pointed out which items on the menu are halal and was so accommodating for our group! the entire experience was smooth. service was fast and they were so friendly. i’m going to be a regular here!!!“
“We enjoyed our trip to Joe's Pizza. Be prepared to queue around the corner as it is very popular with tourists and locals. Staff were friendly and had fun with my wife asking for a Margherita Pizza (known in the US as a Cheese Pizza). You live and learn.“
“Came to L'incontro for a casual lunch on a Saturday around 2p. Did not have a reservation and was immediately seated. I gotta say, the service was excellent! Many waiters were serving us and they were constantly checking if we needed something. They were refilling out waters all the time and it was just very polite. What was interesting is the "daily special menu", the waiter was standing their reading about the daily special for like at least 5 mins and we had to stop him from continuing. Either way, we got the bucatini cacio e pepe and it was very yummy. My husband got the veal and it was not the most photogenic dish, but tasted much better than it looked. We also got the octopus, which was soaked in balsamic, also very nice. Overall a very nice traditional Italian place.“
“So happy with this restaurant! The dishes were plated in such delicate and detailed way, perfect for get you ready to get into all the flavors. The Grandma-style pizza is a must! And arrive just in time! Also it’s such a great place with an amazing staff and the perfect ambiance; the brunch bartender suggested the best cocktails keep in mind my preferences about liquor.Definetly Loring Place continue show dishes full of flavor, color and an open invitation to come back for more.“
“This is my favorite Italian restaurant in NYC. And they have the best pizza in the city in my opinion. I’m Italian and it’s very hard to find true Italian pizza!! But you can definitely find it at Aromi. You can also chat with the owners and the staff, they are really kind and the service is awesome. Also they have real delicious mascarpone and every time I ate that I wanted to cry because it reminds me of Italy! Really recommended!“
“probably the best pizza in new york city. the food was great, we tried 3 different options (and yes, we exchanged slices), they were all to die for. we ordered the spinaci salad and it was the best salad i’ve ever had. note: one salad is not enough to share since it is so good.“
“I was up and down about buying this pizza because of the cost...HOWEVER, I thought I'd give it a try. It arrived today...Man. REAL PIZZA after 20 years of being GF. It was delicious! I've order online frozen items (cookies, pizza, apps etc) before and this was, by far, the best delivery result. Frozen solid, minimal waste and even the GF taramisu I was nervous about experienced no thawing. It was supposed to be for someone else but oops, so good my taste testing went a bit too far. What taramisu?? :) I ordered 3 GF pizzas and have only tried the sausage and mushroom so far. The crust edge was crispy on the outside and soft in the middle while the pizza itself cooked up nicely. I like mine a bit well done and even doing so, the toppings didn't burn. My ONLY complaint was it needed a bit more sauce for my personally liking and because it was fresh and tasty, I wanted more. Maybe a side to dip my crust in?? What? Yes. Great job Kreste!“
“Come for the space, there's a lovely enclosed patio in the back! Stay for the pizza and the drinks, both of which were surprisingly good. Be warned, however, that the menu is a novella. So many options, it's approaching overwhelming. If you like Neapolitan-style pizza, you'll definitely enjoy La Lanterna's. It was the right chewiness, and the toppings and sauce were tasty. I also had one of the many available adult beverages, opting for a hard coffee. It was excellent. The cheese and pate plate was good -- the bread it came with was well seasoned and had a nice crisp. But the presentation definitely leaves something to be desired, it definitely looked like an elementary school science fair project on the plate. Overall, good food, not too pricey, and a nice patio. Solid option!“
“food was really good but I didn't like the way they treated this man standing outside in the rain. they treated him like he was trash and he didn't even do anything wrong. food was excellent but they need to treat all customers the same. treat the tourists the same as the homebodies!!!!“
“Note: Review based on Pizza making class/experience.The atmosphere is so intimate and cozy. All pizzas are made in a wood fire oven. Chef Salvatore is passionate about his pizzas and loves to help the people in the class. We had a great experience. The ingredients were great and easy to handle. Don’t need any level of cooking experience to do the class. You get appetizers (salad + meatballs), followed by pizza and marshmallow Nutella dessert pizza. You mainly just roll out your dough and put toppings on. More of a date activity than a cooking class, loved it and will be back to try pizzas made by the chef.“
“After a breathtaking view of New York from Rockefeller Center, hunger spontaneously drove us straight to Ace's.Without looking for long, we spontaneously decided to eat there. The furnishings in the style of the 80s and 90s appealed to us, and the ever-popular ALF was playing on a tube television.David, who served us, was incredibly personable and warm. At the end of our visit he even became my hero. The pizzas you get here are authentic and vary in dough and are prepared in a pan.We ordered the Hot Burrata, Vodka Meatball and the Buffalo Pizza. And we can say they were simply divine. Crispy, fluffy, juicy and tasty. This Detroit-style pizza blew us away, even as Neapolitans. Our favorite was definitely the Hot Burrata.A little tip: Order the small pan pizzas in different varieties, David will certainly give you good advice.Thank you again, David, for your hospitality and for bringing me my forgotten backpack (my hero). The fact that you found us in the crowd was nothing short of a miracle. In conclusion, if you're in New York, treat yourself to this pizza at Ace's. We will definitely do it again when we visit New York. Until then, we wish you all the best and keep it up!!“
“The food was absolutely amazing it was my first time here came from london to nyc and the food was just brilliant , the service was handled very well by a man named Granite , he made sure we were taken care off , given the best food and drinks , made us laugh , brilliant ambient/atmosphere . We will definitely come back to make another appearance for sure !“
“Had to do some Easter shopping so hot this place up . Been wanting to come here. Really cute place when you walk in its like being in a bistro in Italy . Started with clams Orengenata they were so fresh with a creamy lemon sauce . I had Veal Scaloppini with prosciutto and grilled zucchini and fontina cheese. Omg brown sauce was so good. Veal mostly tender. One piece was little chewy. We also ordered the ravioli special. They were stuffed with artichoke and cheese. Really flavorful and cooked perfectly. Prices very reasonable for the quality ingredients. Waitstaff top notch. Parking is annoying Cant wait to come back.“
“My first time dining here and it was a 10/10 experience, my friends and I were elated!! Food was served hot and fresh, large portions and friendly service — it was amazing! We sat in the outdoor sitting area, it was so great watching people come and go as we enjoyed our meals and chatted. I got the Chicken Parm, it was soo huge and filling. I highly recommend coming here — I look forward to visiting again!Kid-friendliness: Saw some families coming in and dining which was pretty sweet to see!“
“We stopped by Roberta's for dinner after a comedy show. It was pouring out but Roberta's was packed and required a bit of a wait. We were seated in the back area where there was ample seating. We ordered: + Stracciatella: we attacked this appetizer once it came to our table. This dish came with two slices of bread which was enough for the big blob of cheese. + Marinated Olives: these were delicious and were fun to eat with our drinks + Little Gem Salad: this salad was refreshing, crunchy, and delicious. + Margherita Pizza: a basic margherita pizza done well. The crusts were also divulged (that's when you can tell the pizza is good). +Ice Cream Sandwich: we ended our dessert with their recommended sticky bun and ice cream dish. This was delicious and well worth the try. They tried to market it as a cinnamon roll but it is definitely much better than that. The staff was fun. They came by often to check on us but let us alone to chill for as long a we wanted. Cheers.“
“i ordered their prosciutto and burrata (which comes with imported burrata and 24 Month prosciutto di parma), tonnarelli cacio e pepe (pasta with pecorino and black pepper), and infernetto pinsa (roman style pizza with tomato, mozzarella, spicy soppressata, and pecorino). all in all, every dish was made with fine ingredients and was cooked well. the burrata was very creamy and delicious, i would recommend it if you’re a fan of burrata cheese. the pizza had a good coal fire taste to it and came out hot and flavorful (the spicy soppressata was tasty, but i would like to try some of their other flavors eventually). the cacio e pepe was tasty and had a strong pecorino flavor (creamy, rich, slight cheesy musk to it). the pasta had good texture and mouthfeel (firm al dente noodles). all in all a decent spot for italian!“
“The pizza is first & foremost amazing! Im not a pizza kinda person but i could have their pizza everyday for sure, not even trying to exaggerate. My favorite is a bit basic, margarita/plain slice but they make it better than any other pizzeria ive had in NY?“
“FOOD- Freshly baked dough and rich tomato sauce, the crust, perfectly crisp on the outside yet delightfully chewy inside. Each bite bursts with flavor. The cheese stretches tantalizingly with freshness. An experience that captures the essence of New York's culinary heritage.PRICE - very reasonable.LOCATION -many surrounding shop.ATMOSPHERE- cozy, friendly staffs and clean!“
“What a great place. I went here spontaneously for my birthday because a friend suggested it. It was totally worth it.We started with the Antipasto plate, then went to the vegan pasta bollente pizza, what I didn't realize at the time came with a pretty spice chilli, and finish with a bread pudding slice. We also had a couple of cocktails, which made the bill a little pricey, but if you didn't have drinks, it would be pretty affordable. The Antipasto plate was a great addition to the meal. The meats were scrumptious and the accoutrements added exactly what you would want for a antipasto plate. $24The Patata bellente was really good but if you don't like spicy food, steer clear of this one. I thought the potatoes would help subside the spice, but it was still very spicy. If you like spice this is the one for you. $18I can't remember what the bread pudding cost or even seeing it on the menu, but it was outstanding!!! Not to sweet, not too bready, it was just a bit of joy with every bite.Id definitely come back, and not just for a special occasion.“
“came here not knowing what to expect but the pizza was really good. brought my picky brother who only eats plain pizza and they added this delicious puree to it i think it was pumpkin. our waiter was super friendly and attentive! definitely recommend! :)“
“This is one of the few restaurants opens late and took our order 15 mins before the kitchen close. The servicers are friendly and welcoming. Ordered the Shrimp Fra Diavolo and Crispy Octopus. This pizza is the thinner style, the crust is slightly crispy but soft mochi-like inside. It is pretty light and not greasy; it’s stated as spicy on the menu but is not.The crispy octopus is alright, the octopus is on the tough side, so not everyone would like that. However, the vegetable combination and sauce surprised me. The celery and herb are tossed in a light refreshing sauce, with the spiciness and tanginess from pepper dew and crispy potato, overall, a complex flavor profile yet refreshing and savory appetizer.“
“Tried 3 pies incl 2 on the in-house only menu and they were surprisingly VERY dry. The crust was fantastically chewy incl the outer crust but how do you have vodka sauce so thin on a pie that it has almost no effect because overall the combination is too dry?⁉️Why would you make pizza like the El Cubano which is comparable to the sandwich and interestingly great flavor combination but with mostly "cheese" and toppings of ham, pickle and the occasional strip of mustard but on on plain crust/bread & with no sauce or juiciness that you get on a Cuban sandwich so, again, a dry pie?I'm being very generous in my score because one of the three at least felt like there was some sauce & moisture on it.. as well as a great chew all the way out to the edge of the crust was fantastic and tasty dough plus the staff was very attentive but what's going on with the negative moisture factor?⁉️“
“Gorgeous space, food was amazing. Would definitely come back to try more items off the menu. This time, I had the opportunity to try the hot mess with prosciutto on top. It was delicious. Went at an odd time between 2-3 so place was very quiet. However, it you can do not miss out if you are in the area and try this place out.“
“Stopped by last night and had a great experience. We made a reservation via Resy and were seated right away. We loved the ambiance. It gave such an intimate, close knit setting. The music is so cool and trendy - goes along well with the vibe. The menu is straight to the point with amazing options. We ordered the Caesar salad, VCR pizza, espresso pot de creme dessert and a cocktail. First of all, my cocktail (Night Rally) is soooo delish!! The Caesar salad is an extreme 10/10. I absolutely loved it! The VCR pizza… another 10/10! The sauce and pepperoni and a bit spicy for those who are sensitive to spice. Nonetheless it was phenomenal. The dessert was such a pleasant, light surprise! I asked if they have an affogato and the substitute was such a relief! We loved it. Just one downside with one of the employees there - she wasn’t too friendly. Good thing she wasn’t our server. Either way, I absolutely would return in a heartbeat!!“
“Great place to enjoy a delicious pizza. I’m super picky when it comes to food. I must say that this place exceeded my expectations.FRIED CALAMARI was amazing and IMPOSSIBLE CHICKEN was super crunchy and tasty. Now the CHIMI CHICKEN PIZZA was the BEST pizza I ever had in a long time. Service let by JUNIOR made me feel welcomed… Great place ??“
“We had an excellent experience at Marcellino. The meatballs were fantastic. The mozzarella appetizer was one of our favorites. I especially loved the raspberry blossom drink. We had no problem making a reservation and the service was excellent.“
“It's been a minute since my visit but it's recall a nice atmosphere, great service and tasty food. It was pretty hot inside (winter, heat) and we were seated at a community like table but with friendly folks who gave their vegan dining advice for the area!“
“Sitting at Diego’s bar made me a better wife, mother, daughter, and person. He brought me back to life and shared his passion for New York, making me excited about waking up tomorrow. If Sofia’s does not give Diego a significant raise, they will be doing themselves a disservice. Diego is the reason for Sofia’s. He is the light. Go to Sofia’s for Diego… And the orecchiette di salmone. Sofia’s is lucky to have him.“
“The Best Pizza in NYC! - If you want the best pizza in NYC you have to go to Pop's Pizza. I'm a native New Yorker of 50 years and Pop's Pizza is my favorite pizza in NYC. They make a perfect slice... thin crispy crust with fresh sauce, toppings and ingredients. If you like garlic, you have to try the Margarita but no matter what you order every slice is amazing and the owners are fantastic. ?“
“Joe's Pizza in NYC is a must-visit for pizza lovers. From the moment you step in, the aroma of freshly baked pizza fills the air, setting the stage for a delightful experience. The ambiance is cozy and bustling, with a classic pizzeria feel that adds to the authenticity of the place. Beware, the place is always packed but I feel like it adds to the NY vibe. Now, onto the star of the show - the pizza itself. Joe's Pizza is known for its traditional New York-style slices, and they certainly deliver on taste. The crust is perfectly thin and crispy, with just the right amount of chewiness. The sauce is tangy and flavorful, complemented by gooey, melted cheese that's evenly distributed across each slice. One of the things that sets Joe's Pizza apart is the quality of their ingredients. Whether you go for a classic cheese slice or opt for toppings like pepperoni you can taste the freshness in every bite. The service at Joe's Pizza is efficient and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience. Whether you're grabbing a quick slice on the go or sitting down for a leisurely meal, the staff makes sure you feel welcome and well taken care of.“
“Food, drinks, and service were incredible! My husband and I stumbled on this place on a date night in NYC, and it was absolutely perfect for a date night! The only thing is the restaurant is tiny tiny so don't think about having a large dinner party, but for a more intimate dinner or lunch, I would highly recommend it! The burrata was our absolute favorite dish! 10/10 recommend!“
“Solid spot for a slice or two of pizza. A little limited in options, but still delicious for the classic options. Plus their hot honey hits just right. Some limited seating in the back but the turnover is decent. Service was quick and brought it out to the table.“
“Delicious, hot out of the oven pies in a cozy wood paneled old school spot. They have espresso martinis on tap but we opted for the wine - all reasonably priced by the glass and super tasty!Between two people we shared the DelRay (their version of a pepperoni) and a white kale pie. The DelRay was a juicy and savoring slice with perfect tomato sauce, and salty greasy saucers of meat. They have chili oil and chili flakes which only help magnify the flavors. The white kale has a base of a nut-free kale pesto with cheese and garlic. This one was a sleeper hit. I usually don’t like white pies but this one blew my expectations. We also had a tres leches cake which was soaked in sweet milk and had a sponge texture. Not my favorite dessert but it could have been that I was so full at this point.I can’t wait to come back and try my pizzas. Might be my favorite sit down spot in NY for pizza ?❤️“
“I had a lunch at Osteria Barocca and the food was delicious In addition to the spicy rigatoni, I also ordered the fried calamari. It was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, exactly how calamari should be. The accompanying dipping sauce added a delightful tanginess to the dish. Overall, my dining experience at Osteria Barocca was delightful. The combination of delicious and fresh pasta with the perfectly cooked fried calamari made for a truly memorable meal. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a taste of authentic Italian cuisine.“
“I went with my family to celebrate my 32nd birthday. The food was 10/10 andres, our waiter was super kind to us. The appetizers were super delicious. When the main course arrived, Andrés recommended that we combine my steak with a wine that was spectacular. I would definitely go back to this restaurant again and again.“
“So the first time I ever had razza, we got takeout and the guy on the phone was so nice. I was so blown away by how patient and nice he was. The pizza was also to die for…. Absolutely bewildering how amazing it was. Today I ate inside for the first time with my best friend and…. great googly moogly were we amazed. First of all, thank you so much to Joe and the girls in the front for getting us seated despite our tardiness to our reservation. So grateful for that! I felt like they really wanted us there and were so empathetic. Second of all, THE bartender Kai (spelling) is a legend. That foamy drink and the pretty pink one…. Woah. Outstanding!!! Thirdly, the pizza was obviously off the hook. They told us the clam calzone was taking a bit long because of the dough and how they needed to get it just right, and man you could really taste the technique and effort and attention to detail that was taken with that calzone. Gobsmacked… and the pizzas, dear god. Hazelnut pizza blew us away because it was just such an elite pairing of the nut with the cheese and dough. Lest we forget the special pizza which was spinach and a garlic confit — have you ever seen the movie ratatouille? You know the scene where he tries the ratatouille and has a flashback to his childhood? The whole time, that was me. Literally cannot express what an awesome experience this was from start to finish. Thank you guys all so much“
“Not only is this place super delicious as a NY slice but their selection is outstanding along with everyone that works there. The manager Dawn is a sweetheart we’ve hit it off since me and my wife met her. Anyone looking for a great pie this is spot.“
“Went there with my friend today. Hands down, best pizza I have had in Astoria. Order Marinara sauce on the side, trust me. Service was as good as the pizza, ladies inside were really nice. Highly recommend this place if you are a pizza lover like I am. I’ll be back for sure!“
“Pizza was good sauce was also good. The place is small and outdated for the prices. Almost to the point I wanted to skip pizza shop but friends insisted and they did not disappoint. Just wish the outside matched the food so it feels like the prices are worth it.Parking: Lucky if you can“
“This pizza is the only thing I ever want when we come up from Ohio to visit family. My grandma used to get it for us when my brother and I would visit and now it reminds me of her and summers up on the farm. There's just something about that crust and sauce!“
