“Great Italian food and a decent menu, not much choice but not too much. It's located next to Post Office 34 and is very trendy. The view and service are great, but it's noisy as there isn't much to absorb the sound. We ordered focaccia, roasted peppers and pasta. Everything is great and super fresh.”
“absolutely love this hidden gem. incredible food and super reasonably priced. great for lunch and dinner. must try korean in the city. scallops and octopus are UNREAL.”
“If you've been around NYC and vegetarian, you have almost definitely heard of Dirt Candy. It's the epitome of vegetarian fine dining in NYC.I will preface my review by stating that I have not grown up in the fine dining realm; there is probably some level of "appreciation" that I lack. That being said, the food here is great. Presentation, creativity, flavor experience are all on point. However, I couldn't justify the price for the food. I think if you are very curious and want to knock it off your bucket list OR you are someone into fine dining then this is perfect. Otherwise, there are restaurants that I think you get much better bang for your buck for in NYC.”
“"LOVED IT":The Roasted Vegetable Trio Masamun Curry (GF, VG) was incredibly creamy and had the perfect balance of tangy and sweet flavors. The squash and cauliflower were cooked just right. Every bite was bursting with so much flavor, it made my eyes roll back in pleasure. The Shrimp Pad Thai (GF - we omitted the egg) nailed the classic sweet and tangy Thai taste. The noodles were cooked to the perfect consistency. It was so good, I quickly slurped it all up like a dog eating your birthday cake. Our server was attentive without being overbearing, and very friendly - great service."LIKED IT":The atmosphere was lively and packed with people enjoying their food and company. It's a fun, energetic vibe being surrounded by the buzz if that's what you're in the mood for."MEH":The Om Gai Pad (GF) was the dish we were most excited for but ended up barely touching. The smell was off-putting to me. The flavor was kind of like an old sock...maybe that funky taste was intentional, but it just didn't work for us.The price. Not awful and expected for the quality of the food.Dietary restrictions: GF and VG are clearly marked. They can also omit eggs to make more VG options.”
“10/10 highly recommend. Read about Potluck Club on the infatuation and they were spot on. Potstickers were delicious. The salt and pepper chicken was a first for me, but also delicious. And we had some noodle dish and added the hanger steak. Again delicious. Staff was so friendly and all busting their butts. Really nice to see them working as a team!”
“Freshly made warm pita and flatbread from the oven! Nice dough and crust. Dishes were generous but under seasoned. Generous shwarma pieces on flatbread were overcooked. Rice with almond slivers from ouzi lamb was very fragrant and tasty. Comfortable seating. Light and airy. Attentive service. ”
“Curried goat patties, Snow Crab entree, best hummus dish ever and inventive strawberry short cake riff. Chill music vibe. Knowledgeable and attentive and most importantly genuinely friendly staff. Love this place.”
“everything was great but the endives in my delicious salad were clearly unwashed with a little dust and dirt booo but nothing serious. still 5 stars. please wash the endive”
“Fantastic meal and fantastic overall experience sitting at the chefs counter. Highly recommend the Wagyu and uni supplements as well as the abalone extra course. For some reason they gave us our check well before we finished eating our final course. There wasn't another party waiting for our seats so it was a bit strange to be rushed”
“I’ve never done a review before, but me and my partner had an amazing time here tonight. Just stopped by to have a couple drinks and a snack before heading home. The server, I’m not sure of his name but he was a server in the front section by the bar Wednesday around 8pm. He was incredibly knowledgeable of the wine list and knew all the details about the food we were served. The food runner ran thru each item on the food. Just incredible service. The server picked a fantastic wine I wouldn’t usually go for. The atmosphere was fire. Food 10/10. Recently moved to the area and we’ll be regulars now. Couldn’t rate this place higher. Oh and I also want to mention my partner called ahead and didn’t catch the host, but they called her back in like 1 minute and managed to squeeze us in. You’re running a tight ship!”
“the food is super good and the atmosphere is so comforting and relaxing! we got the arancini, soy butter bigoli, and the rigatoni, and they were all delicious! Kara was such a lovely and joyful waitress to have.”
“Was pretty skeptical about this place-- thought it may be overrated. But it definitely lived up to the hype! Every single dish we ordered was amazing. Reservations need to be made way in advance for a good time.”
“Chef Ed Szymanski is so talented, not only are his fish and chips legendary but so are the other dishes on the menu. Amazing fish entrees, creative food. Trust me, you need a reservation at Dame!”
“It was a great show. I can’t imagine this as a great food but every thing is better with unlimited saki and amazing companies. My wife and I had a great time. It wasn’t hard to find just under staircase and you felt transported out of New York. The food is amazing. They put up a great show and quality is reasonable. I enjoy the food but you can really drunk with the saki.Amazing restaurant and definitely a visit if you are in town. Experience depends on the host.”
“Food was incredible, but the service wasn’t the greatest. Our first waiter was lackluster, but the second waiter was great. Also the receptionist was a bit rude. Other than that, I’m still thinking about the espresso martini and oysters - they’re amazing!”
“Great place. So yummy. Of course lasagna is must try. I also loved loved green salad with greens and cheese on top. Was phenomenal. Want toCome Back for that salad and tiramisu.”
“Divine food!! Such a cute space too and the chef and waiter were so lovely to us. We got the whole room to ourselves as we were eating at 5pm on a Monday but some of the best food we have had in New York. The sashimi was a knock out and cannot wait to go back. The best dish was by FAR the lamb kofta and the waiter was so good to tell us to only get one ie not add another lamb kofta ball so we had one each”
“Came here on a Tuesday evening and I strongly suggest visiting this establishment! It boasts a charming and comfortable atmosphere, good music and great with attentive staff providing excellent customer service. I highly advise making a reservation; we arrived to find it empty, but within five minutes, it was bustling with people.”
“Celebrated my birthday at this restaurant. I don’t eat beef/pork. I was served with variety of fish dishes and they were delicious. My first visit and hope to visit them again soon.”
“Extensively thought out menu, every bite felt like a perfect harmony of complex but well balanced flavours. The pairings are absolutely worth it and elevate every dish, we would highly recommend.Servers were extremely attentive. We ate in about 1h30 because we had a show (a bit faster than the recommended 2 hour window), however we didn’t feel rushed and everything was perfectly timed.Excellent ambiance, we loved being able to see the chefs work in front of us. Everything looked like a perfectly choreographed dance.Would highly recommend, a well deserved star indeed !”
“Strongly recommended! Perfect meal. Every dish was perfect mixed of flavors; and portions. And the service added on the amazingness of this place. We are looking forward to next season’s menu.”
“I really like this restaurant! The food is high quality and the experience is fine dining but fun/relaxed.The menu is composed of bits of familiar recipes with Korean twists and French culinary techniques. There’s galbi, squid ink fried rice, uni, and mäd toast (which sounded monstrous but I didn’t get to try it this time) plus much more. I liked that the menu is small-sized and minimalist with clearly labeled snacks, little colds, hots, mains, extras, and desserts (menu is posted outside the entrance and on website). The current menu that started in mid-March has snacks/appetizers such as spicy yellowtail tart, beef tartare, fried shiitake mushroom rice balls (I think?, it’s labeled as mushroom arancini on the menu), pork head katsu, and scallion buns with unique sauces on the side ($20 per person, either no one or everyone orders). I tried the mushroom tempura with onion dip too! Everything was elegantly and adorably plated. Our server explained what’s what and suggested how to best enjoy some dishes. They have a really extensive drinks menu (many pages), complete with your usual offerings and their own unique cocktails, rice alcohol, maekgeolli, and even alcohol free cocktails woohoo! Not sure if all of the ice cubes for the alcoholic drinks are engraved with the restaurant’s name and logo but ours were and I thought that was a really cool and personal touch. An equally important part of my dining experience was the atmosphere and service. The staff are attentive, frequently filling glasses low on water and folding napkins when you step away. They also keep the music bopping and adjust their playlists. The lighting is a little dim and the interior is ‘cool club’ vibes but for a slightly more sophisticated audience. It’s a place to come in casual or dressed up a little for fun. It’s best for smaller groups of 1-4 I think based on seating arrangements but they seem to be able to accommodate slightly larger groups at some bigger tables and in the back room. Expect to pay $50-$100 if you get one item from each category on the menu and a drink. Probably $100+ if you get more or multiple drinks. The bar area in the back is across from the kitchen, which might be cool to peek at to see some staff members curating orders.I like that it’s on a quieter block in ktown area. The price range and location filters out loud and teen crowds, so it feels like a great place for young adults and Millenials to catch up or go on a date. It’s a place to sit down and chat while you savor small bites and wait on more food to arrive, so you’ll probably need like 1.5-2 hours if you’re going for a natural relaxed pace. I also saw a family of 5 enjoying dinner together here. Lastly, this is random but the hand soap is heavenly. I can’t wait to see what other menus they craft!!Dietary restrictions: They will ask about dietary restrictions and can modify recipes. If you don’t eat certain ingredients/foods, they can omit snacks too and adjust the price for you accordingly.”
“You definitely want to make a reservation if you want to not wait to be seated. This place fills fast. We went when the weather still had a bite in the air. We opted to sit outside in the covered heated patio. Which turned out to be a great place to sit. Highly recommend this. Our waiter recommended all our foods, which change with the seasons. The appetizer of the curry cauliflower was excellent. The triple garlic pork was so good, I could’ve had another bowl. My daughter really enjoyed the fried chicken. The chicken paitan comes with a raw egg that you break the yolk into the hot broth that creates the sauce. The ramen noodles are excellent. They fresh with a nice chew to them. It was my daughter boyfriend’s birthday and they brought to the table a slice of the yuzu cheesecake which was unlike any cheesecake we’ve ever tasted. (with a candle) the overall cost for five people with a glass of wine and a bottle of beer was about $119 w/o tip. Also you scan the code on the table to get the menu. Parking is not easy. ( NYC) if you can take the train, bus or Uber.”
“We loved everything! And I wouldn’t say it if it wasn’t true. Vanilla egg cream, classic board, toasted bagels, breakfast martini, halva ice cream, latkes, some other kind of fish board ( ?can’t remember, but it was good)The servers and host were all very hospitable and quick, but we did not feel rushed from our table at all.”
“A hip, semi-fusion Japanese restaurant. Intimate atmosphere. Our server was quite charismatic and friendly. All dishes were great - really enjoyed their spicy avocado sushi. Expensive but worth it.”
“I will be coming back here every time I’m in the area for the galleries. Such attention to detail with every aspect of the dining experience from the decor, to the unique and traditional dishes, the quality of the food, great service… it’s all there.”
“We started off with some tasty cocktails: A Japanese twist on a margarita and an amazing whiskey-based pink one (the name escapes me but it was truly unique and delicious. We had their rendition of a Caeser salad, which was enormous. The deep fried burrata was also quite big… and truly unique and scrumptious. I could have drank the cheesy broth all night. The fried hen was nice. The black cod was as well. The sticky pudding with lime ice cream dessert was massive, but the two of us managed. Also - get the potatoes…. A great compliment to everything.”
“We decided to try LumLum for the first time instead of going to our usual Thai spot, Wondee Siam. We were not disappointed! The food was spicy, salty and sweet, and the prawns were juicy. We’ll definitely eat here again.”
“Great take on Lu rou fan (minced pork and rice), excellent scallion pancakes and awesome dessert (Tian miantuan) that was like a sandwich of sweet fried dough, golden sesame ice cream and condensed milk (plus cilantro and butter dried peanuts)! Great beverages as well such as the slightly sweetened Jasmine iced tea and Sanzo (lychee & calamansi) sparkling water products!”

“OMG, bought the frozen ones at Shopp & Save in Gowanda and cooked them on my Webber Grill while camping. Amazing. The pan underneath keeps it from burning ??. It turns out crispy & delicious! You must NEVER stop making them! ?”
