“Every Thanksgiving, Baskin Robbins offers a festively bizarre ice cream cake shaped like an actual turkey! They start with a giant MOUND of your favorite ice cream flavor, mold it into a turkey shape, cover it in cake frosting, add cones as turkey “legs,” and douse the entire faux bird in caramel praline glaze to give it a fresh out-of-the-ovenesque sheen.

The sheer spectacle and concept of such a cake entrance me every year! I normally resist the temptation to buy one of these magnificent looking dessert creations each holiday season to spare my wallet (and waistline). However, my buddy Rick was kind enough to front the cost of a turkey cake for me to finally try this year…. On one condition 😈… I devour one entire cake in a single sitting. I could not turn down such a awfully generous offer and promptly took him up on his ice cream cake challenge.

I immediately called up Baskin Robbins and asked for a cake filled with with eggnog ice cream for the light “breast meat,” and chocolate peanut butter stuffed in cones for that dark “leg meat” 😂. The Baskin Robbins team took careful note, filled my order precisely, and even had it all ready for me to pick by the end of the day! Huge kudos to the staff at the Patterson location for their impressive speed in “cooking up” this bird the week of Thanksgiving!

I brought it home and let it harden up in my freezer overnight before I giving this turkey cake its final rites. Clocking in at a mere 3.75lb, I was able to ram the whole thing back effortlessly and casually in a quick 10 minutes and ONE second 😆. Despite my rapid gorging, I still savored each and every spoonful that passed my lips.“

“Normby is a great addition to Pawling. They offer a wide variety of ice cream flavors plus non-dairy options and even pup cups! The ice cream is homemade and you can taste the difference. The staff were very friendly and helpful answering our questions. On our first visit we also met the owners!
I recently tried the non-dairy vanilla chocolate chip and it was so delicious I wouldn’t be able to tell it didn’t have dairy. Normby has a large selection of traditional and unique flavors with new additions! You can also grab a pint to go. We are so happy to have this ice cream shop in town and we will be frequent visitors!“

“This place is amazing, I stopped to get some ice cream for me and my friend and got the best costumer service. it was the best, they always remember know your oder which is surprisingly outstanding for ice cream shops and all the people are so loving and the manager was so kind and caring he greets all the customers with a big smile 😊, very good manager. The team looks like a family all coordinated and caring and surprisingly very quick. The ice cream was good I got a banana split and the flavors were out of this world. Even though I got there after hours they were so loving that they attended me and still gave me the same quick customer service

They also have a buffet style service if you are in a hurry on you want something quick to go. Bread is yummy, they have conchas and a lot of sweet bread that you can get. “I will start this honestly and say the food is disappointing, shake shack is my favorite restaurant of all time and everyone who knows me know that; I do believe the burgers are severely overcooked but that is by no fault of the phenomenal servers, specifically Demaris. Demaris had brought my food out to myself and my dog Bailey today; not once did I ask her for a pup cup and yet she brought me out a cup of custard with 4 dog bones inside with a huge smile on her face. It genuinely made the experience worth it regardless of the burger. This girl should be at the front counter and the face that customers see every time they walk in“
