“Made my way here from the Bronx, and it was a great choice. The food was great, left the plate clean. I highly recommend the sofrito salmon! The service was everything you could ask for. Ian was amazing and very attentive! I will definitely make my way back for the shrimp mofongo.“

“The food here is amazing! Delicious Latin flavors in dishes that will fill you up! My typical order is the Bandeja Paisa which is a full meal in itself! The avocado salad is also a must have- great flavors, super refreshing and always pairs nicely with other dishes. The liki martini is my favorite drink! The service is so friendly, they will all make you feel like you’ve been invited into their home. Juan is truly a magnificent host and it’s truly a must visit whenever I am in the area! I would highly recommend this for a date or even a casual night out! The environment can be treated as either!“

“I had a great time on Friday night at our friend's birthday celebration at Marbella. The staff is wonderful, so friendly ! Marcello was very attentive and made sure we had a great time AND we always had a drink. A++ The room is very spacious and festive. The cocktail hour was great! Had a lot of my favorite bites, like seafood croquettes and tortilla espanola! Dinner was lovely, buffet with items such as pork loin, arroz con pollo and stuffed filet of sole which I really enjoyed. (if u know me, you know i dont eat fish, my hubby couldnt believe i ate this piece of sole! so good!) Lastly...Sangria, my drink of choice always...was a constant on the table and I couldnt be happier! I will definately be visiting the restaurant very soon!“

“The closest you will get to Dominican food without being in Dominican Republic. The sangria is also extremely strong, which is an amazing thing. Absolutely love this place, strongly recommend everything on the menu especially the rotisserie chicken, best chicken ever, my go-to spot every time I cross the GWB. 5/5“

“This restaurant is phenomenal. The food is fantastic! So much so that we came on Cinco de Mayo and waited for a table just to get in. They do have 2 for 1 specials on drinks, but otherwise no other deals or happy hour specials. The seating is well spaced considering the restaurant is smaller. Being able to see into the kitchen as they make the food makes it that much tastier. I really feel connected when I can see them fresh pressing the tortillas ? It's very cool. I will say, the fish taco was my least favorite of the foods we ate. I felt like the actual fish got lost under the delicious sauce and well seasoned breading. It was overall tasty, but I wasn't getting much fish flavor with all the other stuff going on. Regardless, EVERYTHING we ate was BOMB and we will be back!Ate: guacamole, pulpo, tacos- fish, birria, al pastor“
“Yes Mama is one of the best discoveries of Astoria this year!Jessica runs the business all by herself and does a damn good job of it! Not only did she cook homemade Puerto Rican recipes, but she hires entertainment along with having a great selection of wine.I had the Carne Guisada (beef stew with white rice) and it felt like I was eating a mother’s cooking. Paired it with a couple glasses of Rosasera and a lovely Latin jazz band playing in the background and it was heaven. There were even some board games for us the play with while we waited on our food.Topped off the night by splitting a plate of the coquito flan served with the most adorable heart shaped spoons. It was so rich and decadent. If you live in or venture out to Astoria, please please please pay this place a visit! You’ll be so happy you did!“

“I'm new to the neighborhood. After looking for a nearby Spanish restaurant, Cafe Kiskeya was the nearest one. Decided to stop by to try their food, and they definitely gained a new customer that day. I even catered from them the following week for a birthday party I was hosting. Highly recommend.“

“While in New York, my husband and I decided to look for a Spanish restaurant that would have original paella, and we were not disappointed with the Paella Marinara from Manolo's Tapas in Washington Heights, very fresh seafood, delicious flavor and amazing service. We also had the Torta de Cangrejo "crab cakes " and it was very sutil and tasty. Both dishes were not salty at all and we appreciated it that. Only thing i will say that it was a bit uncomfortable was the situation at the end when we asked for the bill and found out that it was cash only. We called to make a reservation earlier, and were not told that or when we arrived no signs at the door, my husband had to leave me at the restaurant while he went to get cash. As tourist that was uncomfortable, however we understand this is a local place and everyone knows the rule. This place should be in magazines, it's truly a hidden jewel. We will go back, and next time we will bring enough cash.“

“First time visit and most definitely will return. Have already sent two sets of friends… The food was fantastic and this is my kind of setting: small, intimate but not pretentious or fancy. Chef is a star and recommended the perfect plates and a great wine as well. The garlicky shrimp, patatas bravas and the tortilla espanola…table favorites. Next time we will make time for the paella.“

“Definitely if you are in New York and you like good food. Your next stop is the hollow epa! Good portions and consistent seasoning, this is usually difficult to find but it is a gem for those of us who are picky eaters. Good attention in the same way. It is advisable to go in a group and with the family! It is not a drinking fountain, there is a lot of respect for the customer. It has been a good experience!“

“This is a restaurant specializing in grilled chicken. I have only gotten takeouts from here so I cannot speak to what the restaurant atmosphere is like. The food portion is generous an prices are reasonable for the neighborhood. I usually get the half chicken. The chicken seasoning is good and I like the smoky grill flavor, but I find that the meat can be quite dry and tough.“

“My coworker and I recently tried the LaGuardia cafe during our stay in the Marriott. It was a very short walk, so we figured, why not?We were pleasantly surprised at the sheer amount of meal options including both combos, individual dishes and the prepared hot food. The employees were incredibly kind and patient as we peered through the menus and finally made our selection, while also walking us through some of their popular dishes. Our food came out fast, fresh, high in quality and quantity. The pepper steak and chicharrones were delicious and their accompaniment of side dishes was exactly the type of nutrition we were looking for! Additionally, the prices were very reasonable considering how much food we received! The atmosphere, alike many Queens restaurants, is that of family, local favorites and neighborhood institutions. While we ate, there had to have been over thirty individuals of all different backgrounds walk in, get greeted in a kind and friendly manner and immediately order their “go-to” dish that they’ve likely ordered hundreds of times before. This establishment is a reminder of the type of food that keeps a community together and well fed, and is a great representation of the diversity in cuisine available in the area. For those thinking of stopping by, I highly recommend it!“

“What an awesome experience! Great food and service. I felt as though I were in Spain again. The prices were very reasonable as well and the portions were large. Shared a seafood paella with my friend and a tortilla espanola and fried calamari. The calamari was lightly dusted with flour and was amazing! Try the sangria too!“
“It's often a challenge to find vegan options. Mamacita's didn't let me down. The veggie fajitas were easily customized and de-LICIOUS...! The strawberry margarita was fire too...! Thank you Daniella, Cameron, and PK for the hospitality...!!!“

“I have been going to this small place for years. If you want to feel like you are eating at your abuelas house, this is it! The owners make you feel like you are at home. The cheapest prices in the neighborhood. They catered my last event & I could not believe the prices. To add on the owner added a nice surprise to my order - Just so thoughtful! I just love coming here... from the smell of home made food when you walk in, to the culture.“

“this was maybe the most sketchy whole in the wall place I have been too for food. Our friend brought us in while we were staying close by and thought he was grabbing a beveage from a convince store. To my surprise there was an actual deli inside and I was hesitant at first to order.. Let me tell you tho. The Abe bagel was the greatest bagel I've ever had in my LIFE! I am still floored and would literally go there everyday if I lived there. Apologies for the quick judgement. Seemed like great friendly people in the store and the food... ugh. Do I need to go on? Bravo.“

“I like how it's a diner with counter and booths, the food is good, prices reasonable, always clean. I did take off a star because their personalities could be friendlier, no one says good morning or afternoon, hardly ANYONE smiles, there's no greeting you which would be nice to be acknowledged when you are there.“

“I was there today to celebrate my friend's retirement. Great experience! The food was amazingly good. I had the meatballs-dominican style- with rice and beans and maduros and a side salad. Simply delicious! The place was empty (we were there at 2:30pm) which made it even better. I love the atmosphere of the patio. Drinks were good. Prices very affordable. Michell was our waitress and she was simply lovely. Thank you to Wendy too. We are definitely going back soon.I almost forgot to mention. There is no problem at all with parking.“

“I can't believe I lived in Washington Heights for so long and never visited La Casa del Pollo. The chicken always smelled so good but I never found an occasion to go. I was feeling a bit homesick for Dominican food today so I decided to stop by on my way home since it was on the way. While this the rotisserie chicken, they also sell other platters. I'm not sure if the menu changes daily but they had a display of cooked meats and rice ready to go. All of the meat, including grilled and stewed chicken, roasted pork (pernil), steak and meatballs all looked appetizing. They don't have the prices listed in the window so you have to just ask since it's not by weight. I'm sure they have a menu somewhere but when I walked in I just had to ask the lady at the counter. She took care of me right away and packed up a lunch size platter of the pernil (note that lunch platters are available even outside of "lunch" time) and a whole rotisserie chicken meal. Both meals were huge portions, enough to eat multiple times easily. It was an incredible value for the price. When I got home to eat it, the chicken was incredibly juicy and flavorful. My fiancé devoured the pernil and Moro too. He loved it. Overall, this place isn't anything fancy by any means but the food alone makes it worthy of five stars. It's super delicious and affordable. I will definitely be back.“

“The food has that Dominican taste if that’s what you’re in the mood for. Delivery can take a little longer than expected, but usually not that long of a wait. The“chicharrón de pollo sin hueso”is pretty good tasting, softly fried breaded boneless chicken. can’t go wrong.“

“Ordered from the Yelp App twice for delivery. First time, delivered on schedule. I enjoyed the food, my companions didn't. Second order, delivered on time. I again enjoyed the food and this time so did the others. No complaints here. La Reina has been around a few years, and appears to be holding their own amongst the other neighborhood Latin restaurants within the area. Our orders have been tasty and seem to be freshly made. We haven't dined in, so uncertain if that's an option. Driving by, their inside seems tiny, though their outward appearance is rustic and inviting. It is important to note, food-wise we are not in The Heights where full on authenticity is prevalent. Having this Latin restaurant as an option in the area allows us the opportunity to order from here again.“

“The food was out of this world. Seriously the best Pernil I've ever eaten, everything else was amazing too. You can taste the fresh saffron in the Arroz con Gandules, and the potato salad which I originally thought would be an odd pairing (it's totally not) was also exceptional.“
