Using a translucent material for the menus was a nice touch! The salmon was light and airy with just the right amount of sweet honey and lemon, the contrasts danced on my tongue. The spinach and cream potatoes were an excellent healthy addition to the salmon. Based on my date devouring her plate of short ribs and sides, I can easily say her meal was also very much enjoyed. This was my first time dining at a Portuguese restaurant. Freelance Café and Wine Bar has opened my palate to everything Portuguese cuisine has to offer. Well Done!“

“I attended a surprise party this Saturday evening. The cuisine was preselected, waiter service was excellent, should receive raises. The table arrangement was very poor. The party was downstairs in one of the private rooms. We were 25 people at one very long table, basically the length of the room, which made it difficult for guests to get around the seated persons at the head of the table on either side. Having two tables would have been a better arrangement, but one long table was not conducive for conversation since we were so far from the other end of the table. The food; not many complaints, I really didn’t have a problem. I didn’t have a lot of food, but it was delicious. The dessert, sorry not very good. Those Famous Crepes(palacinkes) sorry not that great. A lot of crepe and not a lot of filling. The dish was served with fruit, unfortunately this fruit was not in season, so the watermelon although it added color to the dish, upon tasting it, left much to be desired. Why not serve fruit that is in season? No offense to my party hosts who selected my menu for the evening, it didn’t lend itself to the 5 Star Reputation of Dubrovnik’s. I would like to make reservations and splurge on a dinner on my own, I have a feeling I would LOVE the experience! Btw, another plus was the parking!“

“My wife and I were there for a political function combo meeting and Christmas luncheon. This establishment is super clean, bright, and cozy. The food and wine were delicious. I had chicken parm. Was fantastic. Was batted down thin and breaded and seasoned to perfection. VERY tender, I only had to use my folk to cut. The marinara was fresh semi chunky lite delicious and perfect. The fresh bread came in handy to clean up my plate. My wife has a fresh pasta marinara dish and NO complaints there. “My friends, every family has a picky eater. In mine it's my brother, never have a met someone that is harder to please. In October he wanted to go out for his birthday and he decided on Morton's, we had a wonderful time and the food was very good, but I had bragged to my family about the wonderful time I had with Mr. Henry, so my brother and 2 of my best friends decided to join me last night at Ruth Chris and when I tell you my brother could NOT stop ranting over how absolutely delicious everything was. I have never seen him enjoy a meal that much in our lives, he literally couldn't stop. Being a picky eater, he also does not like to drink nearly as much as I do, but after having talked up Mr. Henry and his smoked old fashioned, both my brother and my buddy wanted to try one and as advertised it was absolutely amazing. He actually enjoyed his cocktail, never ever does he drink anything outside of a crown and coke, because he hates the flavor, but because Mr. Henry knows how to properly craft a cocktail, he actually drank it with no face, no winching like he always does ... It was amazing to watch and hard to describe, you know that kid that never tries anything? That's my 42 year old brother, lol.

Ms. Jennifer came over at one point to say hello and she is an absolute phenomenal GM, very keen eye for details and knows how to keep an establishment very classy. We appreciate you too Ms Jennifer, my entire party says thank you.

Our time was amazing, somehow Mr. Henry and Ms. Jennifer found a way to build on perfection, because everything we had, from the French onion soup to the seared Ahi tuna to the ribeye was absolutely amazing. To build a comfortable environment and vibe for friends and family to really enjoy a wonderful meal and time together is not easy at all but Ms. Jennifer and Mr. Henry make it look effortless. Two true professionals, make no mistake about that.

Our drinks were both the smoked old fashioned and a nutty Irishmen with dessert and when I say Mr. Henry is a master at his craft, there is zero exaggeration. Everyone deserves to try one.

Thank you again sir, you never cease to amaze and you live up to the hype, my friends and family had thought I was telling stories, turns out I was just reporting facts.

“We took my husband and dad out for Father's Day looking for a wonderful time. With any holiday you know it's going to be busy and we anticipated some wait of course. Boy we were left more than disappointed with the overall experience with this restaurant. We had a reservation on the deck, but after being initially seated inside, my husband mentioned the outside status and we were gruffly seated to an outside table. The menu looked delish and we ordered some mimosas which the waiter said came with the specials. We got the drinks right away but had to flag down our waiter to place our breakfast order. Everyone around us got bread and olives and when I asked if we were getting it he said it just for lunch, but it was brunch! Everyone around us who came before us is getting their meals and we are just sitting there. We didn't get our food until over an hour later and mine and my dad's order was incorrect. When I got up to mention this and speak to the manager, to add insult to injury the manager can't show his face, he sends another waiter to talk to us. The waiter apologizes on his behalf and says that in order to make us happy we will be comped for my dad's and my meal. We say thank you and tell him we feel horrible he was to be put in this position. We get up to use the bathroom and get things going with the check and the waiter hands me the bill. The manager is standing right there. I see that there is a charge for the Mimosas. At this point I am really upset and I say "You said that they were included". The manager then rudely gets in my face and says "No, no, no. The drinks are Not included today". I tell him that the waiter told me so and he says no again. I then give him a piece of my mind of the whole experience and how it put a damper on the whole day. To this he curtly says " We are busy today miss, good day". This place has the potential to be excellent with the right manager and staff. To be disrespectful this way and then on Father's Day to boot was downright awful. Be a man and own up to making a mistake, don't send another employee to make things right.“
