“Upon entering: The atmosphere and vibe were ethereal. It felt like we were entering someone's home that was fully prepared and waiting for us to arrive. The service was immediate and friendly. The three gentlemen that attended us were patient and unassuming. Background music was lite and added to the ambiance. The physical menus were perfectly visible by the candles on the table. Using a translucent material for the menus was a nice touch! The salmon was light and airy with just the right amount of sweet honey and lemon, the contrasts danced on my tongue. The spinach and cream potatoes were an excellent healthy addition to the salmon. Based on my date devouring her plate of short ribs and sides, I can easily say her meal was also very much enjoyed. This was my first time dining at a Portuguese restaurant. Freelance Café and Wine Bar has opened my palate to everything Portuguese cuisine has to offer. Well Done!“

“I attended a surprise party this Saturday evening. The cuisine was preselected, waiter service was excellent, should receive raises. The table arrangement was very poor. The party was downstairs in one of the private rooms. We were 25 people at one very long table, basically the length of the room, which made it difficult for guests to get around the seated persons at the head of the table on either side. Having two tables would have been a better arrangement, but one long table was not conducive for conversation since we were so far from the other end of the table. The food; not many complaints, I really didn’t have a problem. I didn’t have a lot of food, but it was delicious. The dessert, sorry not very good. Those Famous Crepes(palacinkes) sorry not that great. A lot of crepe and not a lot of filling. The dish was served with fruit, unfortunately this fruit was not in season, so the watermelon although it added color to the dish, upon tasting it, left much to be desired. Why not serve fruit that is in season? No offense to my party hosts who selected my menu for the evening, it didn’t lend itself to the 5 Star Reputation of Dubrovnik’s. I would like to make reservations and splurge on a dinner on my own, I have a feeling I would LOVE the experience! Btw, another plus was the parking!“

“My wife and I were there for a political function combo meeting and Christmas luncheon. This establishment is super clean, bright, and cozy. The food and wine were delicious. I had chicken parm. Was fantastic. Was batted down thin and breaded and seasoned to perfection. VERY tender, I only had to use my folk to cut. The marinara was fresh semi chunky lite delicious and perfect. The fresh bread came in handy to clean up my plate. My wife has a fresh pasta marinara dish and NO complaints there. “Once again, we celebrated our anniversary. Once again, we had a lovely meal. Although, we went to Ruth's Chris during Hudson Valley Restaurant Week, the special menu wasn't offered on Saturdays. We went for the $55 3-course meal instead. There were choices that we liked (I had steak with additional extra 3 grilled shrimp; hubby had salmon and shrimp). The meal included choices for appetizer and side. There was a chef's choice of dessert. Everything was great, with the exception of the steakhouse salad- way too much vinegarette dressing. I probably should've asked for dressing on the side. Ambiance was on the noisy side. The restaurant was packed with families. We were seated near a family with a very fussy toddler who literally screamed for attention. Thank goodness the family was about finished with their meal and left before our salads were brought out. Nevertheless, the noise level was high with people talking all at once. The servers were wonderful and very attentive to needs within their power to control. Ruth's Chris is always our go to for good food in our area. We'll be back.“

“On a beautiful October Sunday I took two friends out to Brunch. We were all really taken with the drinks first of all. They were delicious and interesting..even ordered a second one! The food is very very good. I had a Truffle omelet that was done to perfection and served with truffle fries and a salad that is reminiscent of French salad...simply and perfectly dressed. The atmosphere looks nice, but it gets very loud when busy which can be hard on neurodivergent people. I crave their frisée salad. My parents love this restaurant.“
