“Just visited Osteria Umbra yesterday evening for the 2nd time. This place has quickly become my favorite Italian restaurant on Long Island. The quality of the food is extraordinary, and the service/wait staff is second-to-none. Both times I visited, everyone in my group had a truly exceptional evening. From the moment you walk in the front door through the completion of dessert, this place provides first class service. The Black Truffle Taglierini in the Parmesan cheese wheel is a must try and delightful experience. The Australian Wagyu Tomahawk was absolutely delicious and well worth the order. The Italian Cheesecake is homemade, and is the best I have ever had. If you have the opportunity, make a visit and give this place a try. You won't regret it!“

“This is one of my favorite restaurants. The quality is on par with Manhattan restaurants at Long Island prices. I normally go for lunch take out. But two days ago I had dinner. They had homemade sweet corn rice balls and homemade sweet corn ravioli. They were outstanding. Restaurant is small but nice. The staff is very attentive without being overbearing.“

Any meal I had there was excellent. The service is impeccable. The atmosphere is family oriented. So it is like having a hug with dinner. I like that appetizers, soup, salad, main meal are brought out in steps. That way you can enjoy the courses. This has been my favorite spot to eat since last summer. Had taken my family members there. Me and one of my good friends go there all the time. My first time there, they made me mocktails that I requested. They were great.

“What a wonderful find in Smithtown. Every dish we ordered was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. The seafood pasta was loaded with fresh mussels, shrimp, and calamari, while the baked stuffed mushrooms were rich and savory.

Everything was presented beautifully. I particularly loved the vibrant touch of fresh herbs sprinkled over all the plates. It made the entire meal feel that much more special.

Always great food and staff, we have even used their catering and the owner Sal always comes over and says hi! Keep it small and make sure you come to this amazing small business. Skip the sushi and big chain restaurants 😂“

“We catered for 100 people from Branchanelli’s earlier this month. All of the food was delicious. It was fresh and hot when we picked it up. The tray of calamari was crispy and you can tell it was just cooked. Our guests kept telling us how much they enjoyed their dinner.“

“Happened upon this restaurant while visiting Port Jefferson. And glad we did. Got here early enough that we could get a table right away. Steve took great care of us without being overbearing. We started off with the stuffed mushrooms, which were so freaking good. For main course my husband got the Chicken & Sausage Scarpiello, and I had the Veal Scallopini - both were delicious. We finished off sharing the Rainbow Cookie Cheesecake. This exceeded my expectations. Everything was so good that my husband wants to go back tomorrow!“

Our food was fantastic across the board, from appetizers through dessert! (Mussels are a must!) “We go to the Bistro all the time. We recently had my husband’s retirement party there for 70 people- open bar, catered food, and hired DNA band. Chris, the manager, went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure everything was perfect. Chrissy the bartender is the BEST! The food is amazing! Their ‘Chicken pink’ is a favorite, and everyone raves about the food! It is a nice atmosphere- if you just want to sit at the bar and order off the bar menu, and watch the game on the huge tv, or sit and listen to the entertainment, or have a nice family dinner… I definitely recommend!“

The outdoor dining experience is as if you are at a party in Europe. They already see me often for 10 years—I love food and this gets my repeat business. Try it at least!
