50 Best Italian Restaurants near Roslyn

“I go to Diane’s all the time for coffee and baked goods, at least once a week. I invited new moms and dads from the Roslyn school today for a gathering at Diane’s this morning to support local business. We had about 12 people. Sat outside at the patio where the shaded area was. Everybody all bought coffee and pastries. We arranged the tables and chairs in a long row so we could see each other. Later we were told by Diane, the owner, that she wasn’t happy that we rearranged her tables and sat together in a row. Why? The place wasn’t crowded with other guests. We all bought and paid for goods. I couldn’t help but thinking that because we were all Asians?! She could ask us kindly to put the tables and chairs back once we finish, which we did without being asked at the end. But with the unwelcoming remarks I will never come to support this business again. I don’t say this lightly but I felt it was discrimination in every way. I’m truly disappointed. I love Diane’s and the yummy treats but the owner was truly unkind. I share this post here because I don’t think this business supports diversity, which is a shame because this community is becoming more and more diversified.“

They also enjoyed their meals; pasta with marinara and the chicken parmigiana with green beans. My husband and I equally enjoyed our meals. The service was great. Danny worked with us to create a menu that was tailored to us and our guests and we got SO much food included in the package we did. He also worked with us to create table arrangements that worked best for our event. I was worried at first that the space only being partially private and not a true private room would be an issue but it was not at all! We really didn’t need it and were happy to still get to enjoy the Sinatra singer that plays for the restaurant that night. “The pan seared roasted chicken is amazing!!! My family and I found this place a few weeks ago. It's a beautifully decorated, clean and fairly new establishment with a very polite staff. My children have had the ravioli, the penne and the chicken fingers and each loved their meals. It's a hidden gem that we are happy to have found :)“

“We were traveling to the area from out of state for a family gathering, if we were going to Long Island I wanted real Italian Food. After research found this spot, made a reservation based on an estimate on when we would be getting into town.
Ended up being earlier than anticipated, called the restaurant they were able to accommodate my husband and I earlier. Along the way a family member was also getting into town and wanted to join us for dinner, they were able to adjust the reservation on the fly to accommodate us.
The wait staff was awesome. Explained the menu, specials.

The food is delicious; there’s too much food there’s always at least two meals for each order the food that you make. The overall ambience is fun as the patrons that frequent this restaurant are regulars. There’s just a homey and fun tinge to this Bellmore Classic.“

“My wife and I really enjoyed the entire setting family style dinning. We both love eggplant very much the seasonings were not salty or spicy plenty of sauce stuffed with fresh ricotta cheese. All of what we could see were large entrees no fru fru at all. This is another local good place to dine in Floral Park.“

Soft shell crabs, veal osso buco... but I think anything you get there will be fresh and of the highest quality. Good wine list too. “One of the best Italian restaurants in Lynbrook or anywhere else. They use the freshest and highest quality ingredients and prepare the food exquisitely. I ordered takeout tonight for six people in my extended family and served it family style, and everyone was raving about the food. We ordered Scallops Oreganato, Shrimp Stuffed with Crabmeat, Chicken Francese, Zuppe di Clams White Sauces and a few appetizers and it was all superbly prepared. Several of us were from other towns and repeatedly asked me how to find this place so they could visit in the near future.“

“Mario’s Metro Pizza completely changed what I expected from a pizzeria. We came in for a full tasting and every single dish overdelivered. The chicken scarpariello was the standout, juicy chicken smothered in a sauce with real depth, sausage and thin cut potatoes mixed in, plated like something from a sit down Italian restaurant rather than handed over a counter. The vodka rigatoni with fresh burrata was another surprise, creamy, rich, and not something you expect to find at a pizza shop. The Philly cheesesteak pizza and hot honey pepperoni with vodka sauce were both excellent as well, and the hot honey and buffalo wings are made completely from scratch in house.

Beyond the food, the hospitality stood out. The owners, two brothers with over a decade of experience in kitchens across Westchester and New York City, took over a pizzeria that had been a neighborhood staple for decades and elevated it without losing that local feel. You can tell everything is made fresh and with real care.

If you are in New Rochelle and think you already know what a pizzeria can offer, this place will prove you wrong. Highly recommend.“
