As anticipated the mussels were large and tender.. swimming in a wonderfully flavored sauce, great for dipping the toasted bread. And the pear salad was delicious.. I wasn't sure how the flavors would blend, but the chef made it happen, 5 stars across the board“

“I really enjoyed the space and the menu, and the service was phenomenal. Even with a full restaurant during the lunch rush, the manager still took the time to greet us and check in on our table. “I attended a surprise party this Saturday evening. The cuisine was preselected, waiter service was excellent, should receive raises. The table arrangement was very poor. The party was downstairs in one of the private rooms. We were 25 people at one very long table, basically the length of the room, which made it difficult for guests to get around the seated persons at the head of the table on either side. Having two tables would have been a better arrangement, but one long table was not conducive for conversation since we were so far from the other end of the table. The food; not many complaints, I really didn’t have a problem. I didn’t have a lot of food, but it was delicious. The dessert, sorry not very good. Those Famous Crepes(palacinkes) sorry not that great. A lot of crepe and not a lot of filling. The dish was served with fruit, unfortunately this fruit was not in season, so the watermelon although it added color to the dish, upon tasting it, left much to be desired. Why not serve fruit that is in season? No offense to my party hosts who selected my menu for the evening, it didn’t lend itself to the 5 Star Reputation of Dubrovnik’s. I would like to make reservations and splurge on a dinner on my own, I have a feeling I would LOVE the experience! Btw, another plus was the parking!“

The process was easy by calling in to see if they have it in stock and to order it. They packaged it nicely and had no problem picking it up a month after the purchase. The three gentlemen that attended us were patient and unassuming. Background music was lite and added to the ambiance. The physical menus were perfectly visible by the candles on the table. Using a translucent material for the menus was a nice touch! The salmon was light and airy with just the right amount of sweet honey and lemon, the contrasts danced on my tongue. The spinach and cream potatoes were an excellent healthy addition to the salmon. Based on my date devouring her plate of short ribs and sides, I can easily say her meal was also very much enjoyed. This was my first time dining at a Portuguese restaurant. Freelance Café and Wine Bar has opened my palate to everything Portuguese cuisine has to offer. Well Done!“

Many of the employees don't speak English, but we both try really hard and end up at the right place. My boyfriend says "i don't know what they do to the pork, but it is one of the best I have ever tasted."“

“Tarry Tavern for dinner: Mom had Seared maine sea scallops with local corn and leek risotto and I got the roasted Hudson valley duck breast with pecan cranberry wild rice and sunchoke purée. Unreal. Mom cleaned her plate at a restaurant for the first time in ages and mine was to die for. We shared the pumpkin pecan bread pudding for dessert.
