We eat a LOT of halal cart food, and Abdul offers some of the best we’ve had. If you’re in the area (or flying out of JFK and have some extra time), it’s worth a small detour.“

You'll be getting your money's worth if you opt for any of the rice platters.Note: if you go during the day it might not be as good as the one from the night. “The chef deserves a medal for grinding and cooking in this heat wave in such small quarters. The heat didn't affect his attitude at all though! He was so pleasant. I ordered the small ox tail plate that came with rice and beans and 2 big pieces of sweet plantain. I requested the Jamaican slaw which was a mixture of macaroni and cabbage and seasoning that I loved. The mac n cheese was exactly what a mac n cheese should be. Dense and delicious! The neighborhood really benefits from people like this sharing their culture and flavor so thank you!“

“Incredible pillow soft tortillas and very richly flavored enchiladas. Really great food. Played a violent action movie at high volume over very quiet but great background music, brought out food in takeout containers, seems like eat in service is an afterthought, which is too bad because the decor is very pleasant.“

“The Peking Duck here is tasty with rich flavor and crispy skin, but the meat itself was a bit too tough and chewy, making it hard to bite through cleanly. While the seasoning and presentation were enjoyable, the texture of the duck could definitely be improved for a better dining experience.“

“I have never had an authentic jian Bing from Beijing or Tianjing but I have seen YouTube videos which made them look amazing. I've tried a number of jian Bing from other cities in China as well as the US and they always fell short, even in China. The crepe was sometimes too thick, the crispy filling was not crispy enough, the packing was too loose with the ingredients falling out, etc.

Watching the lady make the jian Bing here really reminded me of those YouTube videos I had seen from the places in Tianjing. Both the taste and texture were wonderful and blew away all the other jian Bing I've had.“

“Big Boss Halal food cart is the BEST! Not only is the food delicious, but the owner Faisel is the nicest, kindest man you’ll ever meet who provides amazing service and does it with a smile. He has a heart of gold! I have a very sensitive stomach and usually street cart food give me GI issues, but not this food. It’s truly AMAZING!“

“Incredibly busy, and for a good reason. They are constantly churning out fresh steamed rice noodles/rolls here, but the quality never dips—absolutely delicious. You can order ahead online or walk right up to the window. Prices are great and the food comes out fast. Just a heads up: it’s cash-only and there’s no seating. Steam rice roll with sauce was my favorite. The meat/fish balls were just ok.“

“The guy was really nice and friendly. He even asked and took photos for us.
The food was good. I mean chicken over rice is more or less the same, but the meat was really nice. Especially the lamb, it tasted better to me than the other places I tried. The quantity was more than enough for one person as you can see in the picture. Recommended.“

Wait Time can be longer because they do make them fresh when orders are received. It’s a very crispy snack to eat, and many flavors. Good to try them out, and not many places actually sells these.“

“I went to Tacos El Idolo at about 2:30 am last night while waiting for my friend to get off of work. The truck was unassuming and simple, which was a good sign. I ordered a chicken tostada, a taco arabe, and a carne asada taco. I asked for extra green salsa and the staff happily gave it to me. I ate everything two blocks away outside of Wonderville on top of a city trash can. It was pretty good!

I was surprised as a San Diego native, since I’m used to pretty exceptional Mexican food in Tijuana and the border area. My favorite items were the chicken tostada and carne asada taco. If you’re in the area, they serve until 5 am!“

“A true 6 dollar meal it comes with rice, protein of choice, salad and fries. I usually get chicken over rice with extra pita bread. Comes out to 7 dollars, best food I can get. The drink comes included. However they did charge me for a drink once a few days ago. I’m not sure why I should have asked but I just assumed it was a change but the next day they didn’t charge me it? So I think I just lost a dollar at that point. 😔 but it doesn’t really ruin my experience of this place because other food area near by will charge me 3 dollars for an empanada or 10 dollars for fries. This place I can count on being fast and affordable and always good“

“Despite some people saying quality went down, I got two platters and I enjoyed them a lot. Chapli, Kofta, and chicken was really good and well seasoned. The rice was fluffy and tasted fine, nothing too crazy. The sauces stood out and were very good and felt very refreshing.“

“The food is the best chicken & lamb over rice I have ever tasted. The greens are fresh. Everything is so good. I never get red sauce, but their red sauce has like this fresh homemade taste. It’s just so good just spicy enough. I get their red sauce and that says a lot.“

“I still think about this guys gyro. My wife and I stopped at the pizza place across the street and I wanted to try this guys food. My wife and I shared gyro and fries. The hot sauce, the meat, the tzatziki, the lettuce, the tomatoes, everything so fresh, and the taste. Who would think 5 years later this is still the best we have ever had. On top of it all his service and kind smile was so genuine. Absolute 5 star food. Loved it and can’t wait to try again!“

“Came with my boyfriend whos been here multiple times and said it was delicious, and he wasn’t wrong. We got chicken, squid, chinese sausage, ricecake, shrimp, and beef skewers that were ALL amazing. HIGHLY recommend the spicy powder on any skewer you order. I have low tolerance for spice, but it was just a small kick for a couple seconds. I will be coming here way more often, I found my favorite food spot for late night snacks.“

Yolanda and her husband are the kindest people, true hard-working, loving, members of the community. And I've ordered ahead several times, to take to my family in Chicago, DC, etc. There are so many options, and you can get them spicy or not.
It's good to call ahead just to make sure it's a day they're at the corner. SOooo delicious, and I always feel happy after seeing them.“

“I visited the Potala Fresh Food truck. These are my favorite momo in the city! The momo are so fresh and juicy you have to lean over the container or plate when you eat them, it’s that juicy! I typically get the beef but they have chicken and other varieties as well. I love that you can also order them frozen if you need a large amount for a home event.“

It was so good just couldn’t finish it. Otherwise, It’s one of the best Taco Trucks. Just giving kind feedback since we give second chances and will try the food again for a different experience. “Time and time again, Shah’s Halal cart has been my go to halal cart in all of NY. I’ve tried halal carts from LES, UES, UWS, Flat Iron, Financial District, 53rd and 6th, Astoria, Bayside, etc, and I still come back to Shah’s. I moved to Florida 6 years ago and when I come back to visit family, you bet I’m paying a visit to Shah’s.“

“Got the pork dumplings for $7. Also got the big fluffy scallion pancake that's to the left of this shop for $6. Dumplings were good but nothing specialz 7/10. The big scallion pancake was unique as I only had the flatter ones. It's ok maybe 6/10.“

“They are back! after weeks of being closed. The perfect spot for a late night bite in flushing. They have a wide variety of skewers even seafood choices. After one or two skewers you will find yourself hungry for more. The meats are prepared and kept fresh in clean coolers it’s a street cart so they meticulously clean the area making sure their customers are happy. You can sit and eat small chairs and tables are provided.“

“They serve the temple food :) they know what vegan is, the dumpling and the cabbage bun I get is fully vegan no egg and no dairy :)
They don’t even have the five elements, which is 五辛 in it
They even have a separate pot to boil and cook the vegan dumpling

“This spot consistently serves up bomb chicken, lamb, combo over rice. The bbq sauce is so good! The rice is well cooked, the meat seasoned, and the portions is just rice. Sometimes even for 1.5 meals. The car has been here for sometime and I hope it stays!“
