“Margie’s is an excellent restaurant on the ground floor of the Rockaway Hotel. It’s very nostalgic to locals as it was built where the Rockaway staple known as Gallagher, Snug Harbor and Daltons once stood before the beautiful hotel was built. Margie’s serves up some great food including an excellent variety of prime steak cuts. Their cocktails are excellent and one must taste their staple Irish Coffee which is fantastic. Margie’s and the entire Rockaway Hotel have always been an amazing experience.“

“We had an amazing experience at Ocean Prime before a Broadway show. We arrived early ahead of our dinner reservation and started with drinks at the bar, which ended up being one of the highlights of the evening. The spicy margarita with Tanteo Tequila was fantastic, and the Berries & Bubbles cocktail was amazing as well. For dinner, we originally came in thinking seafood, but the steak options on the menu looked too good to pass up and we were very glad we changed direction. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was perfect for a date night, and the service was attentive throughout. Great drinks, great meal, and a really memorable experience. We'd definitely come back.“

“These prices r better in NJ. The lunch is 1099 and you also can take lunch out to go home. The only good thing here is that you can have the lunch time in and just have to wait to pack it up to take it to go home what's a lunch is 1299 here in N.Y. Also the food in NJ was cooked better I had to return the pasta for some new one cooked properly. Cold meat.“

It's a really nice family-owned restaurant in the area. Would be a decent date spot, especially because of the outdoor seating... call ahead and see if you can bring a board game.

“157 Tavern has been a staple in the area for 10 years and is an excellent choice for parties or group gatherings. You can simply provide them with your budget, and they will curate the menu for you, which makes the planning process very convenient.

Regarding the food:

Grilled Spanish Octopus: Highly recommended. The potato pave is delicious, and the octopus is tender with a perfect charred exterior.

Short Rib with Bone Marrow: The meat is very tender and falls apart at the touch of a fork, though I wish the portion of bone marrow was a bit larger.

King Salmon: Quite tender.

Burrata Cheese: Standard/average.

Caramel Flan: Delicious and beautifully presented.

Overall, it is a great spot for a nice dinner.“

This year I decided to give the excellent and highly favored family cooking team a break and had Austin’s Ale House cater our Christmas Dinner. I went with the ham dinner for 10 to feed 7 people🤣. The ordering was done with ease and so was the pick up. The family did a preliminary tasting...... LOVED .IT and whatever we have left after the “taste test” will have to serve as our Christmas Dinner. Since the taste test was so aggressive we may need to supplement what’s left with a few cheese omelets 🤣. We enjoyed it so much there was much talk about it becoming the new family tradition. “My family and I went to Veranda restaurant in Bayside yesterday for. Birthday dinner. The restaurant is well located, with street parking and valet service as well. There’s an outdoor patio, that for obvious reason we couldn’t use. The temperatures in NY have been in the single digits lately. The food and the service were on another level! Gregory was very attentive, welcoming and friendly. The food was finger liking good! I had the pan seared scallops with spinach risotto and OMG. I can’t wait to go back. Everyone was pleased with the their food choices and I highly recommend this place, unfortunately I didn’t take pics of everyone’s food. Only if mine, I hope you find this review useful. “Donovan’s Pub is owned by 2 Woodside gentlemen. The staff is amazing friendly welcoming and knowledgeable. The food is absolutely delicious and great portions. They have the Best Burger in NYC. It’s the best burger I have ever had. They have awesome live music every weekend on their brand new stage. Their lineup of musicians is the best around. I’ve been going there for 50+ years and I highly recommend Donovan’s Pub in Woodside NY.“

There is valet parking, which in 10 degree weather is a huge plus.
There was a coat check which is another perk.
Then we were seated in the main dining area in a lovely and comfortable table with a cloth tablecloth and napkins, which is a great commodity nowadays in an era where even upscale restaurants have given into.
The service was phenomenal.
Presented with warm fresh rolls along with the menus. A food menu and a drinks menu.
We dined a three course meal which was outstanding. From the starters to desert everything was cooked perfectly, plated and presented like an upscale restaurant should.
The meal, service and atmosphere was worth the price.

“Always a pleasure coming to Rove! Tonite was an exceptional experience. I wish i got the bartenders name. Wednesday 4/24/24 between 7-9pm. Nice nails and curly hair. She was funny pleasant and took care of us. Long story short, after great apps and drinks, paid the bill and left…I dropped a $50 out of my pocket after I paid and left and was only 2 store fronts down and she came after me telling me you dropped a bill and gave it back. You don’t see this honestly often anymore. Kudos to her and Rove deserves her as an employee.“
