Upon walking in it seemed like the place was closed as it was empty but it wasn’t, a nice man seated us and took our orders. The menu was extensive and had plenty of good options and honestly it was a bit hard to pick something as it all sounded great. We at first thought the prices were a bit expensive but once the food came out it was worth it. The potion sizes were a lot more the what we expected and the food overall was amazing, it was full of incredible flavor and filled us up nicely. All the while the server was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. At the end I was surprised as to why the place was so empty, it deserves more attention as Im most definitely coming back for their amazing Indian food.“

“This is a authentic Sri Lankan restaurant in Staten Island. Every dish they offer makes you feel you are in Sri Lanka.
The atmosphere in this restaurant does not give you a topical Staten Island restaurant but you feel like you are dining at a very decent restaurant.

“Cozy, intimate atmosphere. The service and presentation were wonderful. We had Tamarind Scallops and Chili Crab for appetizers. The crab was phenomenal and my favorite of all the dishes we ordered. For mains, we had Zameen Doz and Punjabi Tikhe Kebab with Malai Naan. The Dover sole was delicious and the pasanda sauce perfect for dipping the naan. The chicken was tender, juicy and so good! We were celebrating a friend’s birthday and were treated to a birthday dessert by our very attentive and kind waiter.“

“I still dream of the day they'll bring back gunpowder potatoes. I tried their spicy cauliflower in the spring, but it just wasn't the same. Their food can be a little inconsistent, but my go-to has been the salmon bowl which has a nice crispy salmon and great flavor.“

“I went last week to TKRC on McDougal in the evening! The two men (I forgot their names but two young non Indian gentlemen who were there between 6-7:30pm) helped me with my large order! They were fantastic!!!! One even suggested the crepe place across the street which was AMAZING! To whoever owns this particular store, those two men were excellent spokespeople for your business, really took care to speak to me with courtesy and friendliness and in no uncertain terms….. were the best! The lamb curry was pretty dry to be honest, I wasnt the biggest fan. The butter chicken however was actually very good, much better than most places Ive had in the city and reminds me a lot of my favorite one from Houston. It was tender, juicy, and sweet! The saag paneer was okay leaning good. I thought the curry itself was really good and smooth, but the paneer wasnt as soft as id like it to be. I also only got two cubes of it but I just put some of the lamb into it and that ended up being pretty tasty.“

Location was a bit wierd. .. we went in and asked if there was food and the Indian lady came and was kind of shocked to see 12 of us coming in . She said she will start cooking then and will take time .We almost wanted to leave the place because we weren’t confident of how fast they will prepare.. to all our surprise , she was able to cook food quickly and the food was deliciousssssssssss.. its almost like our mom cooking at home . We had unlimited thali.she brought us dolls , samosa , kichadi , rotis , undhiyiu, potato bhaji, gulab jamun, chaas etc. all my friends were happy and had a fantastic meal . She said to call her next time before coming , so she can prepare all food :) even though it was a slow start , we were so happy with the food .It’s truly a hidden gem . Omg, this meal is sumptuous!
The rice itself is well cooked and flavoured, the chicken is well marinated and it’s full of flavours. And the hint of onion slices completes the meal!
I honestly love it! I added the white sauce and mint chutney over rice it absolutely outstanding . Trust me I was actually licking my fingers and I didn’t leave any rice grain uneaten! This review is genuinely from my heart“
