“My family and I loved this little place. Stopped by here on a whim traveling through town, and were pleasantly surprised. Subs, pizza and pasta were all great, and the staff was excellent, especially the front of the house. Inside was small, but clean. Only knock is no public restrooms, but I get why they wouldn't be open. Would definitely recommend this place!“

“Dinner and show date night with hubby. We wanted something close to the Stanley so we didn’t have to look for parking and that wasn’t far away. Couldn’t get much closer than right next door. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. From the appetizers to the entree, the food was amazing and perfectly cooked. Our waiter Paul was very attentive and prompt, price very reasonable for drinks, appetizers and dinner. Highly recommend.“

“We were in from out of town this weekend for a family gathering. We settled on It’s a Utica Thing, because the menu had something for everyone, and we wanted to get a lot of food for the seven of us and share it all. The arancini was probably the best I’ve had. The Caesar dressing was homemade and phenomenal. The spaghetti, carbonara and bolognese were all delicious as well. Almost everything was top notch. My only gripe would be that the tomato pie was quite thin and not a focaccia-like dough that I have found in the past in Utica. That is a small detail though because the flavors were well done. Also, five stars to Jessica W. for such good service. She was patient with us, and helped us navigate the menu. The service here was solid all around.“

“Second oldest pizzeria in the United States, not your typical pizza, it's upside down, toppings and cheese underneath the sauce. Absolutely love it, every time I'm passing down the Thruway I do my best to stop and get myself a nice pie from this place. Reasonably priced, old school atmosphere, I usually get it to go, you get plenty of pizza for a large, rectangular shape, cash is cheaper than card, had a little problem getting through to them on the phone, that was my only issue. If you want a really good old school pizza, this is where you go. Often imitated but never duplicated. Even though it's almost 2 hours away from my house, I get by the area two or three times a year, and it's always on the top of places to stop at on my journeys. Pizza is really filling, I usually have a quick slice or two with a friend when I pick it up, then I bring the rest home and reheat it as needed, and tastes just as good. It would be great if they were a franchise, but honestly I don't know how that would go over and I don't think it's something they'd really want to do. I also Saw somebody order some wings, and I've never had them but they looked right, they looked correct and well made. Might try them next time. Props to all of you that work there and bring this great pizza for over a hundred years to Upstate, Central and Western New York.“
