The details of the menu, signature cocktail, embellishments and affordable pricing were as smooth as silk. The follow up meetings were effective and brief. Every detail was accommodated in style and with class. When Alicia said not to worry, they will handle everything, I left it in their capable hands and didn’t give it another thought. The event of about 30 family and dear friends was an astounding and resounding success. One word: Delicious! The presentation was wonderful. The service was timely, accurate, professional, and nearly invisible throughout the evening. Everyone is still raving about the menu variety, service, and the General sumptuousness of the event. “I’m not from New York, let alone Utica. I came here for a summer internship at the AFRL base in Rome and had the pleasure of trying Mrs. Sherri’s East Side Diner. Being from Mississippi, I always claimed the food back home was 10x better than anything up north, but when it came to the burgers here, I was completely wrong. I genuinely cannot describe how much I crave that burger and those homemade blueberry muffins. Seriously, what I would give for one more of those muffins. I cannot recommend this place enough. Honestly, it’s one of the only places I can confidently recommend as a homegrown Southerner. I crave this food daily, and unfortunately, I’m over 1,000 miles away now. Please, if you’re considering trying Sherri’s East Side Diner, don’t hesitate. Otherwise, you’ll end up like me, having eaten there only three times and wishing you had gone more. The price is completely reasonable. I would regularly get a full meal with a blueberry muffin, a drink, etc., and it never came out to more than $20 before tip, and trust me, the service easily deserves more than 20%. I can’t describe how at home I felt talking to Mrs. Sherri. She made me feel like a local. She joked around with me and gave off a genuinely warm, almost motherly vibe that made the whole place special. The energy in that diner is something you just can’t find anywhere else in the Utica area. This restaurant is perfect for anyone looking for true “soul food.” I spent a lot of time complaining about the lack of it in Utica until I found this absolutely impeccable small diner. Honestly, it’s a wonder the place wasn’t packed every time I went. If you’re looking for breakfast or lunch, I would absolutely tell you to go out of your way to visit Mrs. Sherri. And if you think this review is biased, just know I have no plans to return to Utica, unfortunately, and it has been nearly a year since I’ve been there. It’s just that good that I felt the need to come back and write this. Overall, I’d recommend getting a mushroom Swiss burger with fries and a blueberry muffin on the side. You’ll leave full, happy, and probably with leftovers. I seriously cannot recommend this place enough.“

“0 stars! I stopped in and I swear there was a teenage girl hanging out with a bunch guys there, she remained there with who I was told is the head chef. It's absolutely disgusting to see such a young kid surrounded by men who are in their 30s and some looked older than that. I haven't gone back since and I never will.“

“My family ate at Venturas on Tuesday; my husband ordered the steak which I was seriously so impressed with that I just had to drive back there tonight to get a takeout NY strip for me (I did share with my husband too). AGAIN, very impressed! Perfect seasoning and tenderness which i have not had since eating at a Ruth Chris in FL! I love their bread with the Pesto in the oil! Nice touch. Thank you“

“Food tastes great but the place is filthy and it's a scary scene. Not for everyone. I might of got sick here once so I stopped coming, I forget. I think it could of been because I came early I think I was the first breakfast cooked so whatever got on the grill the night before could of did it to me. They definitely need to do deep cleaning once a week at least. I mean deep down in the cracks of the floor and everywhere. I noticed stuff like this pretty well because I'm very observant. I love the Italian theme and all, it's sad this place isn't cleaner. I would come all the time. They could make the place bigger too.“

“Generally had a great experience here going with my wife and dog but certain bartenders are extremely unprofessional and you see a clear lack of hospitality.

Edit: Increasing my ratings after I went back here a couple of times. The whole experience was much nicer and it's been a pleasant change.“

“I found this wonderful little spot in Utica today and it was the most amazing experience I’ve had in a while. The service was wonderful. Two amazingly sweet women conversed with me and even recommended a delightful bakery across the street. I took a good while to stare at the menu as I don’t have much exposure to Dominican food and it was hard to narrow down what delicacy to choose. I ended up ordering the Pernil, the pescado frito, and beef empanadas. It was DIVINE! Each dish was cook to perfection and filled with so much flavor! I will definitely be back.“

“Im very set in my ways and dont try new places lol I saw Karma on Facebook and it looked so good. I followed them and continuously saw this dank looking food and eventually ordered. And boy! They blew me away! I love me some rice and chicken but they out do themselves. It's so fresh, and flavorful! Rice doesnt taste old or saturated in fat or oil. You can feel that the meal you ordered was freshly made and made WELL! Have gone back once already, twice after making this review! You need to try them! Only take out but soooo worth it.
