“I here came last night for a surprise party with about 20 people in the upstairs area. The space is lovely, and there is a gorgeous balcony view of the river. The service was fantastic- we had a big group, and Melanie, Missy, Mia and Veronica took care of us. They were so fun and friendly, have so much wine knowledge, and had perfect timing- lol never had to wait around or have to try and flag someone over. I had a really great time and will definitely be back. The live music was great- no so overpowering you can't have a conversation, but great musicians and nice to listen. Over all, it is a great place to have a party or gathering. I highly recommend it!“

“This is our absolute favorite Italian restaurant for many, many years. I love how we get greeted so warmly by Alex when we arrive. So many reasons we love it here… the scrumptious food, the atmosphere and the incredible staff.Two very big thumbs up to Francesco, our sever last night. “What's not to love? This Wappingers spot is right in town, they serve up tasty food, quality beverages, and the staff will treat you well. The bar is quite nice, and definitely clean. Even better, when it's nice outside, there's an adorable back deck that's perfect for sipping a cider, or one of their serious selection of craft beers on tap. There are also cocktails available, but they seem to truly care about the tap selection. Right now they've got a 16% ABV stout out of Brooklyn on tap, which is downright dangerous. This seems like the rare bar that not only fries things well, but it also cares about the rest of its menu too. No one is ever sad about bang bang shrimp and chicken fingers and fries (we order like adults around here), but the salads are very solid as well. There are even vegetarian and vegan options for your friends who aren't quite as meaty (technical term). And that's all I have to say about that.“

“Hidden gem of a restaurant with old school Italian, Pizza and Portuguese food. Everything is made fresh to order. On site bakery with delicious pastries (make sure you call ahead for something specific). I'll definitely be back to dine in person. The owners are very nice people.“

My personal favorite meal is the Sweet Mother Clucker that has this homemade smokey ranch on it….the ranch is out of this world (I want it on everything). They also have unique flavorful specials that change weekly, you don’t want to miss out on. My friends and I strongly recommend AJs cafe. Whether you’re a local, new to the area, or crossing through Wappingers it’s a great place to go.Parking: Depending on the time of day you might not be able to park right in front of the door but if you don’t mind walking less than a min there is always parking a little further away from the building. “Really enjoyed this spot. Nestled in an unassuming strip mall, this really cute Italian seafood restaurant really delivered on quality and quantity. Went out as a multigenerational family of 6 with a kid, and everyone found something to eat. The beer battered cod special was exceptional and bountiful, the broccoli linguine with garlic & olive oil was delicious and voluminous, and the broiled salmon and cod were exceptional. Moz sticks didn't disappoint either. Coming back here for sure.“

“This was the first time we've ordered from Antonellas in Wappingers after living here for 6 years, I'm so disappointed that we didn't try them sooner after trying every other pizza place in town! The pizza was amazing, you can taste the freshness of the ingredients, the sauce is amazing. We tried the fried ravioli and cheesy garlic bread. literally 10/10. This is the epitome of REAL NY pizza! We got some wings, they had that good crunch and a lot of meat with bomb buffalo sauce. The pizza was the best we've had in the area so far. Food came fast and was reasonably priced. The sesame chicken is delicious, the rice in well cooked, and the sweet and sour chicken is nice and moist. Lo Mein is very good, and so is the pork fried rice is good. “Almost on any given day you drive by this place is parking lot is either packed or 3/4 full and the three or four times I've been here I've been really pleased with the menu and especially the drinks they craft. I think the bartenders take a special pride in what they do as they will straight up tell you hey this cocktail might not be up to your taste if you don't like mezcal etc etc and they can substitute to your taste. Personally I think that sort of craftsmanship is a lost art and very appreciated. Also if you want to snack but not really want to have a lot of food or the curly fries with the cucumber and wasabi dip. Surprisingly good. Very eclectic crowd and the vibe was really good. This must be a family run operation but I noticed they're opening up a new spot in Poughkeepsie as well.“
