“After passing car dealerships, a Mavis Discount Tire, a laundromat, a Family Dollar, and a Car Wash, I arrived at the Sri Lankan promised land.Red Pepper Diner is a small brick building that looks more like a house or apartment building than a restaurant, but I find these types of restaurants generally have the most character.I walked in at 5:35pm to avoid a dinner rush, but when I opened the brown door, the place was dead. It was only 2 other patrons and I.I stood there awkwardly for a bit as there was no host stand or anything, and just took in the ambiance: Colored tablecloths, the walls littered with paintings and newspaper clippings with glowing reviews of the place, and a TV playing Sri Lankan ASMR sounds and cooking visuals. It felt more like a spiritual center or a spa than a restaurant. After about 30 seconds, the owner came out and met me with a big smile and a “Just for 1?”He welcomed me to sit anywhere, and I opted on taking a 4 top in the corner as it had the least amount of seating. He was doubling as my waiter, and I asked him what the move was. He kind of recommended everything ahahaha so I just went with one of the House Specialties (Deviled Pork), as I wanted something Sri Lankan authentic, and the Sri Lankan Special Fried Rice because who doesn’t like fried rice…I also got an appetizer sampler because I’m a beast. I know what you're thinking, yeah fine, I was a little chunksterWhen I asked the owner if this was too much food, he furrowed his brow and said “No! Just take whatever you don’t eat to go…” This was the exact answer I wanted as we both know this was way too much food for one person ahaha. Sometimes I just want someone to tell me what I want to hear. Respect. After ordering and sipping on an Authentic Sri Lankan beer, the food began to roll in. The appetizer sampler was my first victim, with the Vegetable Spring Roll being the standout.Next was the Sri Lankan fried rice with an egg on top, and the presentation was beautiful. It was an amalgamation of fried rice with shrimp, calamari, and chicken garnished with spring onions, fried onions, and fresh coriander sprigs. It was DELICIOUS.After I demolished fried rice, the owner came over and picked up the clean plate and said, “Look, no oil. Our ingredients the best!” in his heavy accent. He wasn’t lyin though! The deviled pork came last, and it was essentially just pork with sauteed onions, peppers, and Traditional Sri Lankan spices. I love how simple, yet flavorful these dishes were. It was filled with flavors my tastebuds have seldom come across, but was fantastic. It was at this point I think the owner saw me taking pictures of the food with my Canon G7X camera, and really turned the hospitality up to 11 ahahahaha.I was pretty full at this point as I had just MOGGED two entrees and an appetizer sampler, but he brought out an authentic Sri Lankan dessert called Kiri Pani for me to try.Kiri Pani is a buffalo curd with a palm sugar syrup. It wasn’t for me to be honest ahahaha. My tastebuds felt violated. I did the thing where I kind of mash it around to make it look like I ate more than I did.The food was really starting to settle, so I was FULL at this point. And after that Kiri Pani I just wanted the check, but he brought out another Sri Lankan dessert.I felt like the grinch judging the Who Pudding competition where they are just stuffing desserts in his face as he is just trying to survive ahahaha. But actually, it was super nice and thoughtful. He came over and explained to me what it was but I was so focused on locking in to eat this next dessert that I didn’t really hear him.It was something light wrapped in a green little tortilla that tasted coconut flavored. I finished all of it because I’m a warrior, and because it was pretty tasty.I got the check and the owner came up and gave me his business card, and asked me to write reviews on Yelp and google ahahahaha like bro that’s literally why I’m here. I got a quota to hit.IG @jnov_Tiktok @jnov__reviews“

“Love this place. Excellent, excellent gluten free baked goods galore, lovely healthy meals, delicious teas and coffees, and the staff is SO friendly and lovely in a way that feels genuine. Queer friendly, with nice outdoor seating options. Have been three times and will go back many more.“
“Despite all the restaurant competition in Beacon, this place is still a stand out. Nice venue to see some of the old time greats. Food was absolutely fantastic, but they seem a little short on the front end. Not enough staff. But if you have a little patience you have a wonderful meal.“

“My mother in law and I went to Beacon to celebrate our birthdays and chose the diner for our lunch. They have a wide selection of food on the menu. I had the farmers breakfast wrap and home fries. Mom had her eggs and lox. We didn't see it on the menu but asked the waitress if it was available and she said sure. We were very happy with the service, quality of the food and the prices.Wheelchair accessibility: It's a small diner with a ramp for a wheelchair, walker and stroller accessibility. I didn't walk around much through the interior as we were seated next to the entrance. I cannot verify the comfort level of spacing throughout the restaurant. The bathroom was accessible.“

“Great food, amazing cocktails and beer. You can pretty much have whatever you desire to drink they have great cocktails. Food choices are great and the food was delicious but the menu is limited. There’s something for everyone!.. RESERVATIONS are highly recommended.. I’ve been here multiple times and they’re always booked and busy. Good time to every time I’ve been here, Staff is tentative and friendly.“

“Simple burger spot in Beacon - stopped by to eat a well deserved burger after a long hike. I got the single Dutch Burger ($11) and some fries ($3.50) to go. I loved all the veggies in the burger; lots of spring salad mix, tomatoes, slivered onions and lots of pickle slices. It was a pretty messy burger though, lots of water was on the bottom of my to-go container and the toppings kept on falling out. I thought the patty was a bit on the smaller side and the fries were way too soggy, but overall a decent spot!“

“'twas open Easter Sunday. Vegetable hash seemed to be expensive at $21, but was so good, we ordered second one. Baileys coffee at $12 was ok. Breve coffee was good, but the beans were overroasted (say, compared to Undeground Breve). Overall, good place, food, and Service. Only one restroom, always busy, but clean and great soap there.“

“A great crepe stop in the heart of it all. This makes a great quick snack or for a savory crepe if desired. On a nice day the aroma of their batter definitely lures you in for an el fresco seating experience if available. The staff was wonderful with super friendly service. I tried their Turkish Coffee and it certainly packed a punch. Too bad we don’t live closer the breakfast crepes looked yummy! ☕️ ? ? ?“
“This is a simple brewery with a variety of beers and cider on tap, an extremely friendly staff, a great bar and a game room in back. The place is dog friendly so you can bring your well behaved dog in. They don't serve food but you can get delivery there. Great place for a Sunday afternoon with friends!“

“The food was absolutely amazing. The cakes looked good but unfortunately, it was sold out before I could purchase a slice ?. This restaurant has been around for a long time which means it can use an update but I still LOVE it. It reminds me of grandma's. Good food is hard to find at reasonable prices.“

“Wings are to die for. Service is great because bartender's get to know your name which makes you feel welcomed. Ambiance is not what a bar called the Barking Frog is all about but the people are good, the food is great and the music (or games) are always on“

“Today was my first time trying Asian Ginger and it is now the only spot I will go to in Beacon for Chinese. The food is very good and the owners are FANTASTIC. Amazing customer service, I felt so welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for the great experience :))“

“The service here is very on point, when I placed the order by phone they carefully repeated the order to ensure it was right and even in person as well when I placed it up. Also when I ordered the tea there, she asked how I wanted it and to shake it up to blend for a better flavor. Now the fried crab sticks were great, very meaty without shrinking due to frying and the outer batter was very crispy. House special fried rice I was pleasantly surprised that pork and chicken were in large slices portions rather tiny diced like other places, definitely worth it and felt like rice was more loaded. Rice itself was good, nothing fancy. Now the tea, very surprisingly that a take out has it, but let me say, it was amazing, got the Tokyo tea and it was a mix of strawberry and yakult which is like a yogurt drink. Plus love the Light up ice cube they put in tea to add to galaxy theme tea it's from.“

“We were recommended this place by our friends. As we entered the place, we were greeted warmly by the staffs who invited us to choose our own table. Personally, I really like that because I like to sit by the window and enjoy the view outside; in which of course, we did! The restaurant is clean and modern in appearance. Shout out to Fernando who took our orders for being very friendly and attentive to our needs! Today we tried their Capricciosa pizza and it was delish! It reminded us of pizzas we’ve had in Europe; thin crusted and filled with savory toppings. They even have the Italian chilli oil on the side which we found common in Europe. Also, thanks to Danielle for helping us navigate the area and for recommending us places to try! Overall, I definitely recommend this place!“

“Good food, run by good people. I work near by and eat here probably 2-3 times a month at least. Food is always good, and reasonably priced. Last time, there was a problem with my order and the staff went above and beyond to make it right. Highly recommend.“

“I have been coming to this establishment for years. Being a very particular person ( picky) this restaurant never fails. I get what I order and of course they exceed my expectation. I’ve tried other pizza in the area and none compares. Thank you!“

“Enjoyed my food here a lot!! The presentation was great and the food came fast. Lots of flavor. Tasted authentic as well. The inside was cute and small. Little seating but felt cozy. Restaurant was right downtown along with other shops and restaurants.“

“Nice little Thai spot. While we enjoyed the meal, the food lacked the flavor and umami we were craving. The pad Thai with wide noodles was a nice option instead of the usual thin noodles, but wish it had that traditional salty-sweet combo. The curry was nice.Definitely didn’t stop me from enjoying the very large portions!“

“One of my favorite places to visit! Stopped in to grab a quick bite to eat with my boys, food was great! My sons loved the wings. I’m a huge fan of the Arugula & Salmon Salad. Drinks were tasty and service was good. Prices were a little expensive, but luckily this day, I wasn’t paying the tab. ?“

“The tacos with brisket are the best thing to order if you are staying to eat. If you are getting food to go they can get soggy so I would recommend the crunch wrap instead for preventing that! The service is always helpful and will even bring your food to you outside via the window and are great with recommending items. The overall setting gives like a small taco hole in the wall spot unless it's nice out and you sit at one of the picnic tables then there's a nice big open yard area that's not too crowded! The indoor area is painted with beautiful murals and different merchandise for sale. If you are in the mood for the best nachos in Beacon go here!“

“Their selection of beer is always extensive and their food offerings are always great. They are the only place I have seen Japanese purple sweet potato as fries. Sometimes the service could be faster but is definitely understandable when you see the waitstaff working hard to make sure all the tables are being helped on a busy night.“

“My first stop off the train for my day trip in Beacon. I didn't really have much planned out, as sometimes I just like to go by feel.I walked by Beacon Bread Company on my initial walk through main street in the pouring rain, and noticed a crowd of people outside here with cool umbrellas and that's really what got me. Plus anything with "Bread Company" attached to the end is such an easy sell for me.I was alone, so I walked in and smiled sheepishly at the hostess while softly saying the words "table for one?" with a light smile and holding up my right hand with one finger up. l was seated at the bar immediately which is another major perk of eating/traveling alone. Vet Move.I was planning on having a big meal later so I just wanted something light, and that's when I saw the grilled cheese and tomato soup. I may be weird but I just love a tomato soup especially when the sky is profusely sobbing.I don't know why I expected a big tomato soup with a small grilled cheese, but it was really a big grilled cheese with a small tomato soup. But that's on me. I gotta own that. Personal accountability. The grilled cheese was solid, but it wasn't the best I've had. It really was more for show as the cheese spills out of the end of the bread, but there's not much cheese in the middle. As my middle school basketball coach would always say “Don't bite on the pump fake! Never leave your feet!”But dipping the grilled cheese in the tomato soup was everything you dream about as a little kid. I used to do this with spaghettios and a grilled cheese my Granny would make me hahahaa. The contrast in the toasted bread with the softness of the tomato soup is a combination everyone should experience once in a lifetime. But yeah, overall a great experience. This place is lowkey Beacon expensive though ahahaha. $13.50 for a grilled cheese and small tomato soup had me feeling like I was back in NYC.IG @jnov_Tiktok @jnov__“

“I have been to this place twice with my friends, and we all love this restaurant in beacon. The food is fresh and delicious, there’s something about the water they offer at that restaurant that’s just so good and unforgettable. I loved my food, so did my friends, the wait wasn’t too bad. Overall, great service and affordable price range.“
