“I went for small family lunch after my daughter’s graduation. All the food was good except my Rueben sandwich. It did have good corned beef, sauerkraut and cheese, with almost no Thousand Island dressing. But what really made it so bad was how very greasy it was. Never had this sandwich greasy before.“

“This is a highly recommended tucked away local pub. In which is a true Buffalo staple with a history packed interior with great food and drinks. And most definitely you will be walking out of there after learning a thing or two about American history! Also the owner is very friendly, and he is usually there as well giving trivia questions!“

“Went there for st. Patrick’s day. Couldn’t be more pleased. We had a reservation and got seated immediately. Service was fast and friendly and the food was out of this world. I think I’d sell my soul for more sticky toffee pudding. If you want an idea of their service I watched a man straight up slap a glass of beer out of the waitresses hands (he was a hand talker and it was an accident) and into the wall. She was super kind about it and someone (a manger or owner) came over and immediately changed out everything and cleaned everything up while the server got a new beer. Everyone was kind and quick about it and had I not happened to catch it out of the corner of my eye. they were so discrete Idt I would have. As a table we tried the Sheppards fries, the corned beef and cabbage, corned beef sandwich and sticky toffee pudding and all were incredible. Definitely will be back!“

From the countless great food options (best wings in Buffalo in my opinion), a friendly staff, and welcoming environment, I couldn’t think of a better place. Highly recommend!“

“Enjoyed our visit to this old time neighborhood pub on Wing Wednesday. We had a short wait at the bar for a table of 5 and added a chair for an unexpected 6th. So many options for wings! All the sauces were flavorable. Our server made us feel right at home even though we had never been there before. You could tell this place has alot of regulars. Bartender We was friendly. “Came here from California because my coworker who is a buffalo native said i should try the double dipped wings. It did not disappoint. Doubled dipped in cajun and mustard, there is a good smokey flavor paired with the crunchiness of the chicken. Superb. The chili is also loaded. I suggest anyone visiting buffalo should try this.“

“Really like this place, it gives off dive bar vibes, but in a good way. Bartender is always so nice and even though we only come in once or twice a month she always remembers us. Drinks are good price, we usually play darts of pool and have a good time. They also have a pool table and that table top hokey game. I've never eaten here but i've heard it's good.“

“One of the best bars in town! Great food, atmosphere, and the owner is a 90s ATL Braves fan that would give this place 6 stars if it were an option. A "Must Visit" bar in the downtown area of Chippewa St.“

Long time regulars are probably well aware of this policy but we were caught a bit off guard. Given that they were absolutely packed with people ordering the fish fry, it makes a lot of sense, just something to be aware of.“

“It's a quintessential dive bar. Not a big selection of hard liquor or beers but the essentials are there. The food menu wasn't too big either. Sadly they are a CASH ONLY place but the bartenders are great and on the ball with everything.“

Get there at least an hour and a half early if you want to make a show at the Riviera. Last time I went a friend of mine waited over an hour to be served food and he actually got there before us???“

“Scott was out bartender, and server the few nights we were in town. And Scott was the absolute best. The first night we were in town the hotel was packed with a hockey tournament and everyone coming in early for the last bills game. The hotel staff didn't think to staff the bar/restaurant with more than him and a cook for the night. So getting our food and his time was quite an ordeal. Two and a half hours for food from start to finish.
That being said Scott stopped by, apologized, talked with us, understood our frustration, we understood his, and we could not blame him. He made being there enjoyable for anyone that entered. A man who took a job that could make many angry for a lot of other people serious and really made sure you were taken care.“
