“I would describe the food as homey and unpretentious, but also unremarkable. A burger and fries with a soda was about 18 bucks, so two out of five on the value scale. The owner happened to be present, and inquired about my dining experience, so better marks for service. This place is a popular local seasonal business, also serving as an ice cream shop.Parking: There's about a dozen parking spaces, depending whether the owner's trailer & truck are present.“
“I was delighted by the service today.I guess the manager helped me. He was awesome. Great service, speed and conversation. He informed me that the lunch will start in about 8 minutes minimum and I will have to wait for my order, so 8 requested him to give me my coffee in the time that I wait for my main order. But the main order got filled by the time I got to pick up my coffee. Actually the sandwich order was ready much much faster than the coffee.Anyway I had a outstanding experience today.-----------------Keep it up guys.“
“One thing I must just continue to express is how important small local businesses are. I cannot and I mean I CANNOT stress enough. When Bítchin Donuts advertises a flavor, IT IS THE FLAVOR. Orange Creamsicle? It’s an orange creamsicle. Strawberry frosting? Actually tastes like strawberry. (The other donut place DD is literally regular frosting died pink) Cosmic Cotton Candy? I literally took a bite of fair cotton candy.“
“This was my first time here, we were in Albany for appointment and were trying to find a vegan place. I didn’t know most places in Albany are closed on Mondays. Wizard burger blew our minds. The friendly staff were patient as we took a bit to take it all in. The atmosphere was great from the music to the decor, they also have a free library and can play retro video games. Onto the food, my husband had a burger and fries that he said was perfect. I had the Buffalo chik’n sandwich, and fries, I couldn’t finish mine due to the size. It was about 5 tenders cooked perfectly and smothered with Buffalo and ranch. The fries were hot, and not greasy like most places. The price for 2 entrees and 2 Mexican coca-colas were $30. Not bad for an all vegan meal with large portions. I highly recommend Wizard burger, and look forward to going back.“
“Nighthawks is one of my favorite places to eat in Troy! The menu is fascinating and filled with bangers, and the staff is super friendly. I’ve had some of my all-time favorite dishes eating here.As a note—the attached photos (save for the one with the cod and greens, which I had last night and it was amazing) aren’t just from recent menus. I’ve been here a bunch of times and wanted to highlight some of my favorite meals there! By the way, get the opera cake for dessert.“
“Food was wonderful and the staff super friendly! My husband had a special pot roast grilled cheese and loved it and I had the pita sandwich, which was perfectly put together and delicious! This place definitely lives up to its excellent reputation!“
“A small hall in the wall with quality comfort food cooked by a family. This has been family owned and operated for years. Their food is delicious. The service is also very good no matter who your server is. Most of them are family members of each other and they all give you the same quality of service. Their gravy fries are SO delicious“
“Our waitress was really amazing. Bummed that I didn't get her name to shout her out. Came here with a party of 11 and was seated immediately. The monkey bread was my favorite. The wings were decent. Food portion sizes were HUGE. Lively crowd but not too noisey. Enjoyed my time“
“Very tasty ?.. had the meat lovers. Big slices and lots of toppings. If you want something even better try the steak stromboli. Loaded with steak, peppers, onions and cheese. The crust/dough was amazing too. Highly recommend.. 2 ?? up. Also the place is open late.“
“We really liked the Alabama White, Signal 30, and Carolina Sauces on every meat choice- we've been looking for a local place that does signature sauces like they do out west! We also appreciated the scallions and strong cheese in the Mac n'cheese, and the solid side salad (mixed greens!!) with balsamic vinaigrette. Our server was super attentive -We'll definitely be back and hope to see a mustard based potato salad as a side ;)“
“We got wings and a burger for take away and our server/bartender India was amazing. The food was perfect and the blue cheese dressing is to die for!!!Dietary restrictions: India was sure to tell us about the gluten free buns and lettuce wrap options for burgers and other sandwiches.“
“The Cook And the Counter Guy was very nice and the service was excellent And the food was amazing I bought the chicken wings and Fries everything was perfect and I will be going there from now on the food was made fresh it wasn’t sitting under a heating lamp like other places’ Great place to eat ??“
“Five Guys has been open 15+ years at this location but you could think it opened a few months ago. The crew had it looking super clean and keep everything looking great (it was quiet on a snowy night). The fries were great but with a LOT of salt, and the Little Bacon Burger was perfect!“
“Always a great experience at Friendlys. The weight staff is always nice and pleasant. The food is very tasty on their menu. Usually if we are ordering regular food we eat in and if we’re ordering ice cream we either go pick it up or we have GrubHub deliver it. It’s always top-notch and we’re always excited to get our wonderful sundaes.“
“This is an institution and I wished I still lived in the area so I could visit more . Some of the best fish fry you will ever have . Excellent chili sauce spiced just right . If you have never been given it a try I assure you won't be disappointed.“
“There were 25-30 of us that came after a funeral. We each ordered individual means from the menu. Dan didn't miss a beat!! Our meals ALL arrived timely. Drink orders were replenshed timely. The staff was happy, friendly. Dan saw us before leaving and asked how everything was, it was FABULOUS and IMPRESSIVE!!“
“I walked in and the manager asked if I wanted a burger and how many patties before I even could order to get it out after. I was very impressed and very friendly staff. I was very impressed. Jeremy was his name and is an excellent asset to the team.“
“We love Country Drive-In, especially their chicken speedie sandwiches and delicious French fries. Staff is always pleasant and food is consistently good. Love that if we have been out working in the yard we can just clean up a little drive there when hungry. People pop over from pools with cover ups over swim suits in the heat of the summer. Just a really casual place to grab a bite and/or some ice cream. Little kids (just watch them by the busy road) and well behaved dogs are always welcome. Try it!Kid-friendliness: Yes, bring the kids but by a busy road so keep an eye on them.“
“I eat here multiple times a week and not a single time, has the quality and taste of the food been above expectations and always consisten! Plus the staff there are always smiling and welcoming! Best place in my opinion, within a 60 min drive, to grab a delicious, quick bite to eat! TRY FOR YOURSELF!“
“As an Albany resident, I take no pleasure in giving such a good review to a restaurant outside of Albany. But good pizza is good pizza. It is what it is.This establishment understands the art of the sauce ratio. So many times you have a pizza and they barely put any sauce. It is the blend of the sweetness of sauce and sharpness of the cheese that makes the pizza.I will have to give up another one of my subscriptions, because I have to work Cugino’s into my budget.I was told the owner also ran PJs pizza, which was in Albany. it is a very short drive over the bridge from where we live so this is my spot moving forward.“
“Fantastic service! Chef was very nice and helpful, Food was amazing! All fresh ingredients , Chicken over rice was delicious. Love the seasoning in the chicken:) No photo for food this time, when I realized I didn’t take photo of food the food was already 2/3 gone. That much delicious;) I’ll definitely visit here again:) Thank you!“
“Quiet little dinner with a lovely atmosphere, polite staff, and delicous food. My pancakes were fluffy and delicous, bacon was fresh and chewy with some crunch. My partners eggs and home fries were fresh and tasty, we both enjoyed the meal and atmosphere. A real rare dinner, not many hole in the wall dinners left around the area that have this level of service, and quality. Highly recommend.“
“Herbie’s is my absolute favorite burger joint! Herbie’s Burgers has something delicious for everyone! It’s high quality food, great recipes, made with care and served up at reasonable/affordable prices. And the people are very nice! Highly Recommend!“
“Lovely place with a decent selection of burgers and combos. The staff is friendly and fast. Service is efficient. We enjoyed the sandwich burger as well as the double cheese.Very nice seating with a view of the road and Walmart.Kids will enjoy and so will a family.“
“If I could give them 6 stars, I would. One of the best burgers in the area, it's not greasy, and the ingredients are always fresh. The 21 sauce is so good, I can't get enough. It's also very affordable compared to competitors in the area, which makes it even better. If you haven't been, I encourage everyone to give it a try.“
“After only eating Chick-Fil-A in D.C. and Virginia, I was overjoyed to find out Chick-Fil-A would be right in my hometown. Although when it opened, it was always crowded, and pretty much impossible to get "fast" food for the first 1-2 months, it has calmed down, and is pretty fast in terms of service. I went around 6pm, and there was a pretty large dinner rush line. However, the staff remained very calm and mature and dealt with the crowd smoothly and quickly. I got a Chick-Fil-A deluxe with buffalo sauce, and it was absolutely scrumptious! If you're ever craving chicken in the Troy-Rensselaer area, come on down and check out Chick-Fil-A! It's been worth the wait!Parking: Decent amount of spots to park, as the restaurant shares a parking lot with the adjacent Aldi.Kid-friendliness: Kids meals, cow mascot, games. Overall average kid-friendliness compared to other fast food restaurants.“
“Cafe Hollywood dose not get any better for a Lark Street experience for fun, food and entertainment. Especially when Justin is looking out for us all with his wife Jen, the second greatest business owners on Lark Street. Thank you Justin and Lark “
“This is a cute, friendly neighborhood pub with a nice menu. Emily, the waitresses is a sweetheart. The food is good. The meatloaf is delicious and the definition of comfort food. They have daily specials that they post on Facebook dailly. They always have great cakes too. It doesn't look like anything from outside, so don't let that keep you back. We hesitated going in the first time, because it's not inviting from the outside. It's completely different inside, it's warm and friendly.“
“Although we were out-of-towers, this felt like such a cute local spot and just had a really good vibe. Sliders were good and we loved the fun cocktails. But the best part was everyone who worked there - the service was good, and everyone was so welcoming and friendly. Very happy with our visit there.“
“Applebees has improved in the last 20 years. They have refocused and reworked their business plan. They are family friendly and the food is top notch. This location was slammed during my visit and the wait staff tried their best but needed more staff to earn 5 stars for service. However, this is a good place for a family meal or a date night. The decor is clean and well maintained. Stop in soon. You'll enjoy everything including their prices.“
“Nice local ice cream spot. Their soft serve is super smooth and creamy. Good portions for the cost. Got a chance to chat with one of the owners when we stopped by. She was super friendly and very knowledgeable about all the details of what makes great soft serve and very knowledgeable about allergen info. They make all of their own ice cream with raw ingredients and it's obvious they have a passion for what they do. We will definitely continue visiting Mac's“
“Johnnie's is a diamond in the rough, seriously the food is "Great", because their chef cooks with love. The service is welcoming, the atmosphere is pleasant with 90s r&b playing through the sound system. And the drinks are great with a reasonable price.“
“The outrageous shake is crazy good! I had the peanut butter, chocolate brownie one and it hit the spot! He uses quality ingredients because I didn’t crash afterward! Derrick is so friendly and kind! He brings your order to you! Very nice Guy! We cannot wait to try more items on the menu! Keep doing what you’re doing! Two happy customers in Rensselaer!“
“I don't normally eat lunch, but had missed breakfast and was in the vicinity at a few stores, and this fit the bill. I enjoyed a cheeseburger with fries, a coke and a chocolate shake. I ordered the regular fries, but the portion is quite generous. I didn't realize that I had ordered a double burger, but it was what I needed. The shake was fabulous. The bill was $24 and change, more than McDonald's for sure, but the portions are large, and the quality vastly superior. I don't eat out often, but Five Guys is worth the trip.“
“Coffee was excellent! French toast was good, but I prefer Texas toast. I can’t hold that against them tho as that is a personal preference thing and varies person to person. The only knock I had against this place is the home fries. They’re like mashed potatoes, that are then grilled on a flat top grill. WEIRD and bland. Very under seasoned“
“Herbie’s is my absolute favorite burger joint! Herbie’s Burgers has something delicious for everyone! It’s high quality food, great recipes, made with care and served up at reasonable/affordable prices. And the people are very nice! Highly Recommend!“
“There is hardly a food truck I don't like. Why? I love the history behind them. The craziness of the new rage, from an oldie but goodie, and the committment from the owner to make his/her greateness available at reasonable price and in cool digs. Now, I wouldn't call the New York State Capital lawn cool digs, but seeing as it just a few blocks away and plenty of green grass, park benches, picnic tables, and other seating, how can one resist coming out here for a stroll and a great bite to eat? Not to mention, it is the only place in Albany where you can find 4-5 food trucks to choose from, which makes me feel sad, as that number is low compared to other progressive cities like, San Diego, San Francisco, Austin, Dallas, New York. It also upsets some people that the capitol gets special treatment for placement of food trucks, but let's save that for another day. Michele's looked good. I was simply craving a burger and fries. However, I've learned from my food trucking, that fries can be somewhat of a challenge. Either soggy, dried, or just not right. I hate suffering through that, so instead, I ordered the tots they have. Being a chemist by nature, I don't know what it is with tots, but you can hardly mess them up. They always come out crispy on outside and nice and hot inside. Michele's did not disappoint. I ordered my 0.3lb burger with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion. The film broke loose and this movie came to a screeching halt when I heard, "We are out of onions." "Ahhhhgg," I thought, as in my opinion a burger just isn't a burger without onions. Before I could complete my sigh of disbelief, the server said, "We can put some fried onions on it, if you want. Will take a little longer." I was ecstatic. Not because I got my onions, albeit in a different form, but the food truck guy did not have to offer this, but he did. Why? I don't know, ask him, but I can guess it is because they have that food truck service mentality of "Let's take care of our special customers." It did take a little longer but was worth it. The cook handed me a freshly cooked cheeseburger with fried onions and tater tots. He even warned me that the tots were piping hot just out of the fryer. Really nice touch. I will definitely be back and try their other menu items which look really good including the clam, even though I am not a big clam fan.“
“Always delicious!!! I was thrilled they were open this early in the year. I only called because I realized the temperature was over 60° and I got so excited when they answered!!! I brought it home but I also love eating at their picnic tables when it's warmer. Never disappointed!Wheelchair accessibility: You can go right up to the window to order and the picnic tables have plenty of room.“
