“We visited today and had a fabulous experience. The staff was helpful and friendly. The cafe itself was well appointed (actual silverware, not plastic), water carafes available along with lemon slices for no extra charge, clean, bright - even the soap in the bathroom smelled wonderful! But the almond croissants were amazing. Not to sound pretentious, but we've eaten almond croissants in Paris and they didn't even come close to the greatness of what we ate at Sophie's. The latte I had and the espresso my husband had was also delicious. We were in the area, traveling across the great divide from the west side of the county, and are so glad we stopped in. It would be a challenge to the waist line if we lived closer but we will certainly add regular visits to Sophie's even if it's just for coffee and an almond croissant. Also, the painting of Sophie at the front door is wonderful. Our own Sophie-dog crossed over the rainbow bridge last year so the painting was extra special to us. Run, do not walk, to this wonderful cafe.“

“This was actually the second time I stopped in. The first time they had just opened and some of the things weren't quite up to par (soggy pastries like they had been frozen and thawed out). Anyways I decided to give it another try and this time was much better. I got a caramel frappe which was very good (I forgot to take a picture). I also got the cheese tart and a custard bun. They were both pretty good although nothing spectacular since they are fairly simple pastries. Overall I would say if you're in the area stop by and give it a try.“

She delivered the cake on time and made sure to give us instructions and a box to transport once the event was over. The cake was a great hit and made our special day complete. It looks like they’re doing some renovations, so parts of it have that old-school charm while other areas are getting a bit of a refresh. Other spots look like they need scrubbing. “I’ve been eating Orlando Bread and rolls and other products for quite awhile now and haven’t had any problems with it. Very tasty and satisfying no matter if I have it with breakfast - lunch or dinner . I have even warmed it up just before eating it and the outside crusty and the inside where it’s warm enough to melt the butter is excellent. “I stopped in at Easter to buy chocolate for making buckeyes. First time in since the new owner took over. She was very pleasant. The store is neat and clean and was very well stocked. I'm so glad I have a baking/candy supply store like this near me. I highly recommend.“

“The takeout baked desserts and patisserie are outstanding. My favorite was the pear galette, a rustic French-style tart with artfully folded flaky, buttery crust, and deep fruit flavor. Less successful was the ganache pecan pie, which was beautiful (as they all were) but the flavor combination of rich on rich didn't work in my personal opinion. Also really liked the lemon merigue tart. The croissants are very, very good, not absolute top tier but all the flavors are there.“
