“Just had their Greek chicken souvlaki with rice and salad and I was actually surprised at how delicious it was coming from a fish house. The rest of my party had the fish and chips of various varieties and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals and were full and it was cooked to perfection.“

“We started going to this restaurant over 25 years ago and it is as good now as it was back then - which is excellent. All that has changed slowly is the staff and all as fine as anyone would expect.
The portions are large, the choices are broad and the beautiful decor is as as warm and inviting as ever. The star of this family restaurant, Jenny, is still in attendance but only on Friday nights 4pm to 7pm. We have to travel a fairly long distance but we'll have to make a special trip. “…i used to work for an industrious hardworking fellow named Angelo @ the blue sea on Brock st in Whitby.. so I can be a little fussy on my halibut ?‍♀️ Angelo used to hand cut his fillets & his batter was the very lightest I have ever had…I was REALLY happy about my fish at the Halibut House !! The batter was slightly heavier but I still really liked it !! The halibut was so fresh moist and the texture as it should be..!!The slaw is really quite spot on !!I want to return to try other things ?I loved the server - I read the reviews - haha - what did you do ?‍♀️My server was perfect - but then again - I always treat my servers with respect ?Rock on Halibut House..!! ??

“Pretty good take out spot for fish n chips!The interior is a little old, but doesn’t matter because it’s a take out spot anyway! Very friendly service/owner and the fish and chips are great!There are 2 spots inside if you’d like to eat in, but I think it’s meant to be a take out spot.I got the halibut fish and chips and enjoyed it. “It's been a long time since I've been to Halibut House in Pickering, even though it's in my neighbourhood. On this visit, I had their Haddock Fish & Chips for only 12.99, as advertised on a poster in their front window.

It was a good sized piece of fish with a generous amount of chips and coleslaw. This was a really good meal with good flavour. This place gets bonus marks for providing full bottles of ketchup and tartar sauce instead of the little packets!

This restaurant was a corner location with high ceilings, big bright windows, and lots of space between tables. It was very clean, with friendly and efficient service. I'll definitely come back!“
