“This place is popular and busy!-big variety of specialty drinks!!! Super fun and the menu seems to change regularly.-big variety of foods as wellI ordered the st Jacob’s sunrise. Asked for blended but got over ice which is fine, it was busy so I don’t blame them. Drink tasted really good and refreshing, but I just know if it was blended it would’ve been 10x better haha. Also ordered the beef empanadas with mayo it was really tasty. Came out nice and warm too.Space is a little tight inside but the food and drinks are well worth it.“

“Food and drinks are amazing, especially the drinks. Service is also great, they seem to like the service they provide (and they should cuz going here is a real treat) we wish coming here could be a regular outing for us (sadly can't given the economy). I wish the place was a little cozier feeling, it's feels more like a cafe than a place to relax with boardgames, but ultimately it's very functional and if you don't mind typical Starbucks style seating for playing boardgames then I suppose it's perfect, I just prefer a more homey feeling. Prices a touch high but it's certainly not bad and the best quality cafe drinks then I've ever had so once in a while it's worth it. I'd highly recommend it!My only real gripe was the flatbread we ordered was barely enough to feed a small single adult and it was $9.75 which seems like a lot to me. If you're coming here for more then a small snack and games it will hit the wallet hard.“

“Wonderful food, fantastic interior, and great location--on Northfield, between Bridge and University. Also a community-minded business. A must-visit establishment. Dog-friendly for well-behaved dogs on leashes. (I'm not a dog person, and I didn't feel nervous for a second.)“

“Very nice little shop. The lady who served me was very nice and apologized for making me wait but it was apparent she was busy so I didn't mind. She was very nice and professional. Like the open kitchen makes for a nice show while you wait. Service was quick and easy. Will be back to try something more.“

“Spotted this place driving by, was workin in the area…. Went in bought myself a Ruben Sandwhich, when I tried to pay they said they didn’t take debit, I asked for location of the nearest atm so I could pay. They just told me to come back another day and pay them the cash…100% was the best Ruben I ever had and it’ll be my new lunch spot anytime I’m in Kitchener. It’s hard to trust people nowadays these guys had no issues letting me walk out with the sandwich on a IOU.Thanks again I’ll be back tomorrow.Parking: Lots of parking“

“One of the best cafes I have ever been to!! I had tried it for the first time, I could not play any games because of personal reasons. Although, I am very eager to visit this again very soon. There are myriad of board games, some options of classic video games and a lot of nostalgia among the atmosphere of this place. We had coffee and some appetizers (Antijitos -yummy), which was very delicious as well (FYI-in love with their side sour cream). Do visit if you ever were even once interested in any kind of games. Also, it is not mandatory to play games if you don’t want to, it is recommended though for best experience. Otherwise, you can just sit, relax, enjoy your coffee and vibe!!“

“The food was excellent! We ordered Jimbo's chicken & waffles (with poached eggs), french toast sticks (appetizer) & Holly's omelette. Everything tasted fresh, hot and delicious ?. To drink, had two lattes and one with salted caramel flavour. The one thing we didn't like was potato pancake as a side because it was a bit hard. I think if substituted with hash browns or fries, it would've been better. The service however was a bit slow and our food took a long time. I think there was just one person waiting the tables, but they were very friendly!Vegetarian options: Pancakes, fruit bowls, saladsParking: There's a city parking lot that is free on Sundays that is 5 min walking distance.“

“We had Monigram provide our wedding favours and they really knocked it out of the park. We had custom labels printed out on our bags, and their Eureka blend is fantastic. I’ve had so many guests tell me how delicious the coffee was. The favours were also reasonably priced which was an added bonus. We like their coffee so much that we now buy our coffee beans exclusively from Monigram. I love this place!“

“Found a new hidden gem in Cambridge while visiting for the day. Had the chicken, bacon, cheddar with pesto on focaccia and the Dublin soup. Sandwich was huge and easily can feed 2 people. Soup was amazing as well. Everything is fresh and made in house from what I understand, even the bread. All of the staff are super friendly and helpful. I will be back next time I am in Cambridge.“

“Went here for breakfast on a Saturday around 9 AM and we got a table just in time. The place got really busy and rightly so. Second time here, excellent food , bakery items and coffee. Ordered the vegetarian burrito with eggs. Absolutely delicious. Also took some vegan brownies and cinnamon rolls home. They were gone very quickly :) A jewel in Uptown Waterloo. The patio is being redone so sitting outdoors isn't an option. Not in April anyway, can't recall when it will reopen.“

“This is such a cute little hidden gem outside of Waterloo. We spontaneously decided to stop by for a weekend cafe brunch. We shared "The Egger" and a croissant and each got a warm drink. The sandwich was so good, and I typically avoid eggs! The scone was huge and they brought it out warm. It was a little too sweet and cakey for my taste though. The cafe drinks were just okay. I love that you can play little card games while you wait for your food. It's also fun to peruse the board games/gift shop.“

“Good food, great service. Huevos Rancheros were simple and delicious. The kids got hash browns but both weren't a fan - more of a cumin homefry plate. Lattes were delicious all around, I had Lavender, the others had Chai. The music was a bit loud given the vibe. The counter service was extremely friendly.“

“Cafe O is a wonderful place to meet friends and spend some time. The food is very good. Coffee is top notch. Service is wonderful. The only thing is i wish it would be a little bigger. But yhen again if it would be bigger for more seating it still wouldnt be big enough. Highly recommend. Keep up the good work.“

“Visited this cafe on a Sunday morning and indulged in some iced coffee, peanut crunch, magic bar, and chai latte. Everything was delicious, but the sweets were a bit hard and tough, not exactly amazing, but good enough. The atmosphere was pleasant, perfect for simply sitting and chatting. Overall, I'd recommend it for the cozy environment and friendly conversations.“

“I stopped by this cafe for the first time and had a great experience! Unfortunately, they don’t have iced coffee yet but the manager (or owner?) recommended their Chai Latte and I loved it! The service was great; you can tell they care about their customers! :)“

“I love the coffee here! My flat white is by far the best I’ve had since I arrived in the region. The ambience is relaxed, and the internet connection is stable and fast. The barista is very friendly and pleasant to talk with. This place is indeed perfect for studying and chilling out.“
“One of the greatest, hidden gems in Waterloo. The owner is super nice and the food is value - you can get fouralls ice cream here (for cheaper than fouralls)!!! Also the samosas are massive and quite good. They got boardgames to play, printing services and a section into the back to buy stationeries - honestly you can literally get anything here. Come through!“

“Wonderful little spot in the village of St. Jacob's! i'm surprised that i'm the first reviewer as this place was quite busy when i went in! Service was very exceptional and very knowledgeable. The lady working: Brynn, suggested the brownies and oh my goodness are they delicious!! (she also poured me one of those fancy coffees and at a good price too!!) Very much recommended coming by if you're in the area!“

“I had a really good breakfast sandwich and coffee here, but I was confused as to why they would place the sandwich in a to-go bag with ketchup packets when I said I was eating in. It seems they do this for most of their items, which defeats their purpose of reducing waste.“

“As my last undergrad finals season comes closer, I am constantly on the lookout for cafes to study at while I enjoy a delicious cup of tea. During the last weekend, my friend and I took a bus to Kitchener to visit Matter of Taste (115 King St W, Kitchener, ON N2G 1A7). A quaint and picturesque coffee shop on King Street, this cafe is perhaps best known for the warm and friendly staff who go above and beyond to create a welcoming atmosphere for patrons.Hoping for a warm beverage on the cold day, we ordered a chai latte and a cappuccino. With the spice blend including a delightful mix of cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and ginger, the chal latte had a warm and comtorting tlavour protile that provided a cozy embrace with each sip. The cappuccino was a stark contrast in terms of the flavour profile, with a bold and robust character from the espresso offering an invigorating kick that motivated us to finish the rest of our studying.Should you find yourself craving a good beverage and pastry, looking for a place to catch up with your friends, or simply a calm spot to finish your work, Matter of Taste is the place to be. Conveniently located on one of Kitchener's most active streets, this is the serene haven that you are sure to enjoy! Warmly recommended! To hear more about this review, follow us @eatinontario on Instagram, TikTok, & Facebook. ✨??“
“Wonderful little cafe specializing in German/Austrian treats. I had a slice of black forest cake, a cherry danish and a nougat ring. The cake had real kirsch flavour and delicious cream and made me very happy. The nougat ring was something i had never seen before and it was delightful. Dark chocolate covered a crunchy base of fresh short crust with a nougat and chopped nuts between. Really good. The cherry danish was better than the typical store bought but the pastry was a bit heavy. An elderly couple was running the store and were very sweet. The store is very small and is cash only so be prepared.“
“The cafe has a good variety of food and drink, and a couple vegetarian options as well. I got a spicy veg sandwich, which was really good, but I think I'll try something else next time. Interesting sandwich cut.It was around $6 after the 25% student discount, and they take Laurier OneCard convenience dollars but not flex dollars, disappointingly. The interior is very nicely decorated and they have a good amount of seating. The staff were very nice.“

“Smile Tiger is right beside the Kitchener rail station. The parking is a tight but you can walk from the train! The building was a banana warehouse previously. It’s old feeling, but comfortable. There’s exposed steel beams and wooden floors that are worn and homey.Mostly, there’s coffee. They roast beans themselves. The ones I have tried are bold , smooth and not overly bitter. They have some baked goods and Texas toast with a layer of ricotta cheese. I don’t go for the baked goods as much as the coffee and atmosphere.“

“I enjoyed coming here with my two year old for an hour during a cold day. He LOVED the jungle gym (much more his size than the ones at most parks) and kept asking to go back for weeks. It’s a little pricy if you want to go with more than one adult, in my opinion. If adults were slightly less expensive I’d get coffee with a girlfriend here more often. As an indoor activity for just one adult and young and kiddo it’s great. Will definitely be going back.“

“Rose Cafe in Town it is rare to find such a beautiful place, relaxing and tasty food. My husband and I go there for a date as it is not only food but the vibe is needed after a busy and hectic day. Yes the items might be more expensive than other places, However we should remember that we are paying for something unique, the place, the food. Highly recommended for relaxing and good food . Respectfully.“
“My favourite place for coffee right now! The staff are extremely friendly and always make the effort to ask how your day is and get to know you if you regularly go. They have the best caramel latte I have ever had, and their food selection is awesome too. The food menu generally changes daily with some staples. I come here every weekday for a latte and to study. There is plenty of light in the seating area, the only thing I wish they had was more outlets.“
“How could I not give this place five stars? So many memories tied up, my family and our friends working here during university. They remodeled and recently reopened. Space was stolen from the Comfy Lounge to make it even larger. Prices remain very reasonable at this not for profit run by the Math Society. Watcards not accepted.I grabbed a good cup of coffee, despite not drinking coffee there during the five years I worked there. Lol. I then walked back over to residence to pick up my kid and drive her home.“
