“Allwyn's is a no frills Jamaican place with a variety of delicious Jamaican food fare.Was happy that they had opened one not too far from where my parents live and wanted to get some food on the way back home.I ordered the jerk pork since it looked pretty good, as it had just came out the kitchen. The kind lady serving put oxtail sauce over the jerk pork for me to try, and gave me some of their house made hot sauce to try.Food was still piping hot when I got home, and I must say, the jerk pork was good. It was soft and it wasn't salty, just the right amount of seasoning. The rice and peas was nice and the oxtail sauce brought everything together surprisingly. The hot sauce was amazing and spicy, but good spicy! Cant wait to try other items on the menu!“

“I recently came in for a weekday lunch with a friend and tried their set lunch for 2 (ssam-bap jungsik). The servers were very friendly and helpful with ordering and they made sure that banchan refill (limited to 2 times) was done promptly. The banchans were all were prepared; my friend who tried Korean food for the first time loved the eggplant side dish. I loved that they offered the soybean stews in individual earthen bowls. Their spicy and non-spicy pork bulgogi were also very well done with just the perfect amount of marinade. Accompanying veggies for wraps were also plentiful so we didn't have to ask for a refill. We also ordered steamed Korean dumplings which were packed with meat, tofu and veggies. This was so delicious! I don't normally order dumplings when I go out because it's usually the store bought ones that are steamed or friend but here, it was made in house and the quality was definitely there. I am looking forward to returning to try out more of their new menu items soon.“

“Located inside Empress Walk on the second floor, always wanted to see how it stacked up to Gyubee. We were charged holiday price for Easter Monday lunch, which came out to about $40 each after tax and tip.Food was pretty good overall. Our group really enjoyed the miso marinated kalbi short rib and ordered a lot of it. The kimchi here is pretty good, but the bibimbap isn't as good. Also don't love that you have to pick between soft serve or melona for dessert. Service was decent, the staff were pretty attentive about grill changes but not so much about removing empty dishes from our table.One thing we didn't love was we ordered chicken thighs and when it came, it was mixed in the same plate with other meats like beef and sausage. Just better in my opinion to separate them to reduce the risk of getting sick.“

The service is nice but there is one waitress that is not professional at all, she did not “allow” us to buy (pay extra) and take out our own leftovers and proceeded to tell us order less next time, and constantly telling us to hurry up even though it wasn’t even close to closing time. “This place is tucked away a little so you would rarely see it…however, The staff were amazing here, the prices reasonable and to top it off the food was amazingly good.I will say that the pulled pork was probably the best I had - very flavourful and not sweet like the closest competitor around here - the cornbread was excellent (would be better with gravy), it had like Cardamum and other spices on it and was definitely one of the better tasting cornbreads I’ve had (edges were crispy, inside soft and fluffy)Here is the kicker though the Nashville hot chicken is by and far the best I’ve had in the GTA - warning it is hot hot - and the spice builds up on the tongue - but it was too late I ate too much before I found out (because it tasted so good) - so, if your a fan of good spice just get this trust me you won’t be disappointed at all…at this point I have to go and try everything else they have“

So give them a try!--Used to be amazing, authentic Szechuan food in a casual and friendly environment. However, in the last year, the owner has changed the atmosphere so that its more like a dive bar (dim, loud music (usually either country or rap that doesn't lend itself to conversation) so its not a nice place to go if you want to have a nice date. While the BBQ is still excellent, the other dishes have gone downhill flavour wise (blander than they used to be) which has been a huge disappointment as this used to be a favorite local place of mine.“

My partner and I had heard of this place from many articles that had been praising the service and food. The food was great and not overly expensive. “Was recommended to this place by a local. My wife and I were looking for food to take in the car on the way back to the states. We were greeted by the owner who helped expedite the order so we were able to hit the road. Food was amazing even hours later. Some of the best chicken fingers I ever had. Pleasantly surprised to find that their quality has not changed at all!I am not a fan of rice so I just order barbecue pork, and a side of their ginger green onion sauce to go. Typically, if I'm feeling like making a meal, I'll utilize those two items to make a delicious stir fried noodle dish but been feeling lazy recently so I've been using it for open faced sandwiches on sourdough ✨Oh! They do also have two sizes when it comes to their ginger green onion sauce, and the ladies do usually confirm with you which size you want before they charge you.They weigh the meat they chop up for you but I'll attach a photo of their pricing as or January 2024 for ease of referencing.“

We had the eggplant appetizer and the koobideh and chicken leg kebab. The meat was super juicy and the flavor was spot on! The size of the wings are big but not too big where you’re concerned if it’s genetically modified. Brisket sandwich is huge. Portion is enough for 2 sandwiches. My husband loved it. He’s the real difficult one to impress and he said this is the new spot.
