“Just picked up the Texas Smoked Beef Brisket Sandwich…it did not disappoint! The in house baked fresh bun tasted great and the brisket was delicious! The fries were great with the BBQ sauce (sauce made in house!).I met the owner, Sean, who was a very welcoming guy. You can tell he loves what he does.My next meal will be a sit down in the restaurant for the Grill Smoked Plate!Highly recommend this gem!“
“Not all portugese grills are the same _ Firstly when you walk into this establishment you notice how clean it is _ no matter what time you walk in _ its spotless unlike some other restaurants where the first thing that hits you is the uncleanness _ Lavrador's Bbq open kitchen is huge and the place has been there for a long time _ but the massive overhead exhaust systems grills and ovens are extremely clean and new looking _ always shiny _ hot table as well (which contains and displays some of the tastiest food ive had if not the tastiest) always fresh and kept at proper temperatures _ next thing you see is Linda the owner coming out from the back walking towards you with a smile if she is not already serving another customer _ always friendly _ never a long face _ even though she might be exhausted near the end of a long day from all the cooking cleaning and serving (not to mention the heat) she is very professional and does most of it herself _ not to take anything away from her helper _ also the variety of food should be noted _ she has the main dishes every day Like the chicken _ potatoes _ rice _ fish which is all extremely tasty but she also throws in some other dishes that you will find on certain days like chineese style stir fry rice and lasagna _ stew with potatoes peas and pork_ fava beans, roast beef roast pork cod fish stew, cod fish and potato pie if that's your thing _ and where else can you get a huge turkey drum stick and feel like a king _ also her home made corn bread is amazing_ and for what you get in regards to quality of service_ quality of atmosphere and quality of most importantly the food the prices are unbeleivable _ I havent tried all of the dishes yet but I plan to _ im on my way there nowVegetarian options: Always healthy veggies to enjoy there“
“brother is mashallah a very good comedian, I asked if he had a halal certificate and he replied with this is a restaurant not immigration, do you get it? may Allah make it easy for us muslims trying to verify halal food, Ameen.he wants me to go off a pinky promise he eats halal because he's Somalian ? ? ?“
“Had a very pleasant evening here celebrating my birthday. Our waiter Paulo was very nice and provided exceptional service. The food was delicious and the prices are fair. I would recommend this spot for authentic Portuguese food in Toronto.“
“One of my family members said this is the best place for Portuguese food in Toronto. We were hungry so we thought we would give it a try. We phoned through our order and went and collected it and once it was home we tucked in. The food was EXCELLENT! There was plenty to go round and for us all. Highly Recommended!“
“We were on our way to another Portuguese chicken takeout restaurant and it was closed so we saw this place and popped in. This is the best Portuguese chicken I’ve ever had. The chicken was so moist and tender, the flavour was perfect. We devoured the entire chicken. As well they sauce their potatoes which is an absolute must for me. Hands down best Portuguese chicken in Toronto!!!“
“Amazing place, great food, portions, taste, prices, friendly staff and its also very hygienic. highly recommend this place for anyone looking for delicious biriyani, chicken dishes and many more. They also have a wide variety of desserts and drinks to quench ur thirst.“
“The food is worth for the money. It comes with a drink which is a plus. But the BBQ tastes does confuse me a bit. It's not Chinese BBQ favour nor Taiwanese BBQ favour like other store. The portion is good. Not the best, but good for a try.“
“I recently came in for a weekday lunch with a friend and tried their set lunch for 2 (ssam-bap jungsik). The servers were very friendly and helpful with ordering and they made sure that banchan refill (limited to 2 times) was done promptly. The banchans were all were prepared; my friend who tried Korean food for the first time loved the eggplant side dish. I loved that they offered the soybean stews in individual earthen bowls. Their spicy and non-spicy pork bulgogi were also very well done with just the perfect amount of marinade. Accompanying veggies for wraps were also plentiful so we didn't have to ask for a refill. We also ordered steamed Korean dumplings which were packed with meat, tofu and veggies. This was so delicious! I don't normally order dumplings when I go out because it's usually the store bought ones that are steamed or friend but here, it was made in house and the quality was definitely there. I am looking forward to returning to try out more of their new menu items soon.“
“Tried the grilled tofu(not my favourite. But I usually don’t like unless it’s really fried or crispy) the sweet and sour pork was really good and a huge portion with lots of leftovers. The grilled lamb had a really nice flavour. Also got grilled garlic, I thought it would have been better if it was cooked more and softer but that’s my opinion. They didn’t have hot sauce(I’m sorry I know but I like spice) the drinks are really tasty and I recommend the different fruity ones.“
“Recently visited this spot and loved the vibe and aesthetic. The place is cozy, but it gets crowded, making seating a bit tight. The food is top-notch, thanks to an impressive kitchen team, and the service from servers and bartenders is exceptionally friendly. While the menu leans heavily on spicy dishes with similar ingredients, the flavors are delightful. I'd recommend a bigger group next time for the private room experience. Despite wishing for more variety in flavors, I'm eager to return.“
“This restaurant is incredible. What a lovely family owned business. The owners are so generous and so kind. The chicken is also so fresh & delicious. You get so much food for the money, you will not regret it. I couldn’t recommend this place enough. If you’re in the area, you definitely need to try it!!“
“Came here with a friend for the first time and must say it is pretty decent. The restaurant could use more space to accommodate more dine in customers. Wait times for food is doable. We ordered 2 pounds of creamy garlic wings and ribs. Hands down the best wings I had. It was so crispy way better than St. Louis. Unfortunately, I haven’t tried the ribs myself but will be back.Recommend for anyone.“
“No shawarma place has EVER done this…Me and 4 friends came down from Mississauga at 1 am to try their beef. We’ve had their chicken before but never had their beef shawarma. We called an hour earlier and confirmed they had beef. The guy said yes (they sell out of this quick so we had to make sure it was worth the trip). We headed down. Got there an hour later and beef was sold outtt! I was pretty bummed Ngl. I figured I’d just get chicken again. So me and my friends ordered full meals and then we sat down and enjoyed every second of it. The food is amazinggg. Flavourful, solid portion, incredible price. And a few minutes in, one of the servers comes to our table and drops a plate of beef shawarma for me and all my friends to share! He said he found a few last pieces of beef that he was able to whip together for us and didn’t even charge us for it!That’s what you call going above and beyond!!!Solid customer service, 1000% repeat customer and will continue recommending this place. Not only because of the customer service, but the foood and hospitality is UNMATCHED for a shawarma joint!Best all around experience I’ve ever had in Canada!“
“Came here for dinner for 6 people. Although the tables are a little small and services are lacking, the food is truly amazing! I'll list the food with ranking from best to good.Spicy stir fried gold coin egg with perilla has a thick and savoury sauce. Hardboiled eggs are cut into coins and deep fried, then tossed in a mince pork, black bean paste and chilli sauce. Perilla and carrots added the sweetness that brings the whole dish together. This is an unbelievable way to eat eggs. Must try!Stir fried pork slices with green pepper is a classic chinese dish that has many variations. I can't comment on the authenticity, but I certainly found it incredibly well made. The pork slices are cooked to the right texture and green chillies are fresh. The sauce collected the smoky flavour from the hot wok as it was fried. Incredible dish to eat with rice.Hunan boiled fish fillet in hot chilli oil used freshly sliced black fish instead of frozen basa as seen in most restaurants. This makes the fish neither flakey nor watery, but tender and oozing with flavour instead. The chilli oil fully bloomed the numbing peppercorn and dried red chillies that excites your pallette as the fish lands on your tongue. Konjak jelly noodles and cucumbers are great choices to add to the dish, providing differences in texture. There are spicy chicken offal dishes and skewers that I really wanted to try next. When I'm in the area again, I'll come back for more.“
“We started to have lunch here since 2 yrs ago, the food quality and taste never disappoint us. I'd recommend the bbq and crispy chicken combo if its your first time here, personnally i'll say crispy chicken is the best but my friends like bbq.“
“This was my first time in a Japanese grill style restaurant , so I had no expectations. I have to say it was a great experience. The food was so well prepared and the marinates were flavourful and delicious . Everything tasted amazing! The service was top knotch! It was our first time, and the servers were able to see this and quickly taught us and helped us maximize our time. They were truly so very helpful. They were all amazing!Thank you to a great experience. Will be bringing my kids back when we’re in Toronto visiting again.“
“Located inside Empress Walk on the second floor, always wanted to see how it stacked up to Gyubee. We were charged holiday price for Easter Monday lunch, which came out to about $40 each after tax and tip.Food was pretty good overall. Our group really enjoyed the miso marinated kalbi short rib and ordered a lot of it. The kimchi here is pretty good, but the bibimbap isn't as good. Also don't love that you have to pick between soft serve or melona for dessert. Service was decent, the staff were pretty attentive about grill changes but not so much about removing empty dishes from our table. One thing we didn't love was we ordered chicken thighs and when it came, it was mixed in the same plate with other meats like beef and sausage. Just better in my opinion to separate them to reduce the risk of getting sick.“
“This place is tucked away a little so you would rarely see it…however, The staff were amazing here, the prices reasonable and to top it off the food was amazingly good.I will say that the pulled pork was probably the best I had - very flavourful and not sweet like the closest competitor around here - the cornbread was excellent (would be better with gravy), it had like Cardamum and other spices on it and was definitely one of the better tasting cornbreads I’ve had (edges were crispy, inside soft and fluffy)Here is the kicker though the Nashville hot chicken is by and far the best I’ve had in the GTA - warning it is hot hot - and the spice builds up on the tongue - but it was too late I ate too much before I found out (because it tasted so good) - so, if your a fan of good spice just get this trust me you won’t be disappointed at all…at this point I have to go and try everything else they have“
“First off, the staff here are absolutely wonderful. I came for my birthday and they treated my family and I like gold. Honestly, 10/10 for service. The chicken wings, brisket, sandwiches, mac and cheese and pork ribs were on point! The peach cobbler and banana pudding are amazing. Will definitely return to try the beef ribs next time. I highly recommend you check this place out!“
“Always delicious and very consistent excellent customer service at every location! The beef selection is my favourite and the miso marinated steak is the BEST option. Never gotten sick here and I've been to locations across Ontario (not that hard to cook the meat properly) ?“
“My company ordered from this wonderful restaurant for our staff event, it was not only great food, but the customer service is exceptional to say the least. We were so pleased with the service which starts from the moment Raj picked up the phone to take the order. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who know what great food should taste like. The vegetarian options were great, the chicken was great, and we decided to order by popular demand for a second time..Thanks to the staff and Raj for delivering exceptional service and quality food...“
“Wish I could give 6 stars. Our first time here tonight, party of 3. Cozy and private booths in a bustling atmosphere (don’t come here for a quiet date night!) The service was incredible and very quick, several servers asked us how the meal was or if we needed anything. Generous helpings of meat, we had to tap out before we finished. They also introduced all the side dishes. I loved the variety. Even my 8-yr old is excited to go back again. Such a great experience!“
“The food here is absolutely delicious. We came in on a busy saturday night with reservations and were seated at the bar (not the best) but our server and the food more than made up for the uncomfortable seats. We ordered the premium yakitori set, washed it down with sake and ordered a few small dishes. I have been to their Vancouver location and really looking forward to the next dinner!Vegetarian options: Zuchinni, tomatoes, mushrooms, edamame“
“To any of my TTC coworkers this was my first time having Serbian food. The food is phenomenal the service was very good. I live at Pape and Danforth it was definitely worth the drive I definitely recommend this restaurant I will be going back..“
“The service here is amazing! Staff pay the upmost attention to you. I love that they’re paid fair wages here. The chicken tenders are CRISP, chicken wings are flavourful, by far my favourite were the baby back ribs. The brisket, pulled pork and sausages, even the pickles were delicious. The food and service is great, will be coming back soon.“
“the service here is phenomenal! came in through the week after a tough few days and johnny was the highlight of my week. he made sure my friend and i were comfortable when i mentioned some people at the bar were making us uncomfortable, really got to know us and gave great advice. i’ll 100% be back and i hope i get to see johnny again!“
“The italian sausage was great, lots of flavour especially the fennel.Mac n cheese was good but the cheese sauce is a bit on the gritty side, not creamy.Pulled pork was very good and juicy but lacking depth of smoke flavour.Brisket was quite salty and not very tender, but it could have been because I was given a cut from the flat and not the point. Smokiness was there.Bbq sauce is heavy on the tomato/ketchup side, could be more balanced.Overall a decent bbq place.“
“**updated March 2024**After a shift in approach, this restaurant has landed on a winning combination - great Chinese BBQ (*love* the lamb skewers) as well as more traditional Szechuan food in a lively but still meal-appropriate atmosphere.Very friendly service, quite busy, they draw a regular crowd and for good reason! So give them a try!--Used to be amazing, authentic Szechuan food in a casual and friendly environment. However, in the last year, the owner has changed the atmosphere so that its more like a dive bar (dim, loud music (usually either country or rap that doesn't lend itself to conversation) so its not a nice place to go if you want to have a nice date. While the BBQ is still excellent, the other dishes have gone downhill flavour wise (blander than they used to be) which has been a huge disappointment as this used to be a favorite local place of mine.“
“This place is very pretty, it has a great vibe with fast and efficient staff, they help you cut your meat and are very quick to answer your questions. I went here for my birthday dinner with a couple of my friends and they will sing you a song and gift you a mini dessert with a candle, it was so exciting and everybody sings happy birthday for you. It was honestly great and +A staff for the extra work they put in. Thank you.“
“The food is delicious. I order Uber Eats from here a couple times a week. But they often forget to include the sweet and spicy sauce. It really doesn’t taste as good without it so it’s really frustrating. Additionally, they don’t have an option to pay for extra sauce.“
“I know a couple places in Toronto dt that sell smoke bbq but we all knw the commute, so decided to give this place a try, Ordered the brisket + ribs combo with potato salad and slaw as sides. Loved it :D the place is clean and spacious too.“
“Had an amazing beef brisket sandwich at this BBQ restaurant! The meat was tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The service was great, and the restaurant's design added to the overall enjoyable experience. Highly recommend for a satisfying BBQ meal!“
“We were 2 families, 4 adults and 5 children. The food was AMAZING. The brisket is so tender and tasty. The riblets were fantastic. Overall, it was such a great vibe and really good food! The only one drawback was the seating. It was a tight squeeze for all of us, but that wouldn't deter us from coming back! It was definitely "an experience."“
“Food was delicious. The beef cheeks was tender and tasty the chicken shashlik was nicely done again tender and tasty. The chebureki was delicious and crispy. The service was courteous and the lady patiently guided us.We loved the food and recommend the Armenian Bistro. It has a few tables but is not primarily an eat in restaurant.“
“I loved everything about this place. Food and ambience, both "OUTSTANDING". Service was amazing. The macaroni and cheese, a dish that I consider mostly 'meh', it was incredibly good. Beyond my expectations. The meat was tender, with a perfect smokiness and juiciness balance that still is making me salivate.“
“I'm so happy to have a BBQ near my house.Eglincheon branch is so crispy and delicious!!!You must eat Korean chicken here!!They even confirmed that the beer was low in carbonation and prepared a new one for me. They were so kind. You can get Korea fried chicken No.1 here!!!!❤️?“
“Came here for some nachos and beer. Food was delicious and the drinks were perfect. My server was fast friendly and efficient. Glasses , dark hair , some facial hair. Didn't catch his name. Anywhere a server checks up on me from time to time and is all the above ^ is great. Definitely will come back again. I will recommend this place to anyone I know :)“
“It was a Sunday night when we went here. The place is totally kid friendly. Haewon, our host, was approachable and very friendly. She made sure that the seats that we got are perfect since we came as 8 pax. The waiting time is okay. Steven, our server, was incredible. He checks up on us and made sure that we have everything that we need - from orders to extra utensils. We will surely dine in again in this location.“
“Very cool spot for some Korean BBQ.It was my first time doing Korean BBQ and Daldongnae did not disappoint. My partner and I had heard of this place from many articles that had been praising the service and food. The atmosphere feels like you’re stepping into a spot that resembles many small restaurants that I’ve visited in Asia.Staff was quick, attentive, and helpful. The food was great and not overly expensive. It was a great dining experience to add into the mix of our regular spots. The staff gave us a great glass noddle dish to try as they were testing it out, we absolutely loved it and hope that they add it to their menu.Parking: There is a small parking lot around the back of the building. We didn’t have trouble getting a spot there, but there are limited spaces available.“
“Went tonight with our 3 teen children and everyone loved the food and atmosphere. Our service was amazing. Brogan was attentive and helpful to the kids without pandering. He was super fun to talk bourbon with and Brad was next level. Our boys had the sampler and our daughter had ribs. The best food for sure. Order the corn bread! Can’t wait to come back. Thanks for a great family night!“
“Ordered the platter for two. Have to say I'm not sure the value for money is completely there as with tax and tip it came out to $100, but BBQ food tends to be a bit more on the expensive side and it's a nice treat! The BBQ sauces were very nice. The meat was decently cooked, but the corn bread and fries were great.Great atmosphere though for watching sports. Was happy to catch some of the Jays' opener today!“
“An enjoyable BBQ dinner, where you get to cook your own meal in a semi-private setting. Large variety of meats, starters and sides. Very accommodating for those with celiac or are gluten free by choice. Must say it was very affordable as well and their daily happy hours look pretty good.Dietary restrictions: Attention paid to a variety of different diets and requirements.“
“We had pork, duck and chicken on rice and they all tasted amazing. The soup of the day was chicken broth and it matched so well with the heavy meat. These dishes were so good that I was imagining that the woman who runs this restaurant must have cooked this for her family many times and may be doing this for her kids' future. This may be the best home-cooked-feel meal I've ever had.Do your math when they offer 10% off if paid by cash, it wasn't exactly 10% off. They did it really quick + no receipt so be prepared.Maybe a bit difficult to eat here if you don't speak Mandarin, though the service is bare minimum. I went with a Chinese friend so I can't comment precisely. The lady didn't seem to communicate very well in English when I attempted.“
“Feels like fam is making my food.Vegetarian options: They have kale Salad!Kid-friendliness: Very friendly service with a smile and great conversations! Not to mention the excellent food!Wheelchair accessibility: It’s essentially a food truck made out of a shipping container. It’s wheel chair accessible 100%Hopefully when the construction on that corner is completed they’re still there and or open up a store front restaurant!“
“We got to try this place with a group of friends and we all agreed that this is the #1 spot for Japanese BBQ in Toronto. Unlike other places, it is not too loud and the servers are quick and attentive. If you are looking for an all you can eat BBQ in the city, definitely give them a visit.“
“We have nothing but good experience here. Food was amazing, ambiance feels authentic, place was clean, service was great.. there’s even an exhaust each table. We’ll definitely come back or try their different locations and order different ones on the menu. Worth recommending!Vegetarian options: They have vegetable set, and king oyster mushroom was delicious.. all on the set were freshParking: Worth your mention: parking’s at the back, don’t use the space -left next to it, it’s not theirsWheelchair accessibility: I don’t think it’s wheelchair accessible“
“Immaculate vibes inside, cozy and clean and cute, and the staff was super friendly! Like other reviews said, it’s pricey but worth it! Peach-lemon soju cocktail and white peach cocktails were both awesome! Served several glasses each so well worth the price! We had the kimchi pancake (amazing) and it was huge so we were able to eat the other half in the morning! Very crispy and delicious! We also had the spicy boneless chicken feet, which had incredible delicious spice and it was nice not having to suck the bones ~~ cheese corn was awesome of course. And the steamed beef box was AWESOME!! Genuinely what an awesome spot I hope they continue to do well!Vegetarian options: Lots of good veggies and veggie options!“
“Went in for the milk fish but it was not available until later that day, yet there was no disappointment. We ordered some cold beers on tap that were delicious and on sale. Then we decided on the pork nachos and a skewer plate. Holly smokes the food was outstanding! I have never tasted a giant pile of awesome nachos prepared that way before. Wow, you got to check it out. The skewers were amazing and that unique Filipino love sauce was all there. We were treated like kings while we ate and drank our faces off. I am so glad we dropped by early in the day, by night there must be a line up to get in there. Yes, it is that good. I can't wait to get back and hit the rest of the menu and damn certain to get my share of the milk fish. This place is a GEM. Limited in space, so choose your time wisely.“
“the only place in Toronto with the best food. our children from as far as Stouffville and Oshawa always get us to pick up St. Matthews. we have had them cater a wedding showers get togethers. my only preferred take out Every Saturday we get their food for our dinner. the best food in all of Toronto“
