“This is truly a gem. Every single sweet here is absolutely delicious and full of flavor. I purchased a couple from each flavor because I couldn’t resist trying them all, and I’m so glad I did. Each bite was fresh, perfectly balanced, and made with real care. I had planned to take a photo to share, but the incredible smell and my cravings beat me to it and I couldn’t wait.

“A nice, small spot tucked away in a food court near Yonge-Sheppard. They serve desserts, sandwiches, and some interesting beverages that I have yet to try. I'm definitely coming back for the drinks, but I would highly recommend the flavoured creme brulees. I got the earl grey and matcha creme brulees to share with a friend. The sugar on top was nice and caramelized, and the bitter matcha really came through in the creme brulee. Seating is likely going to be limited should you come here during the day, but the shopping centre Soul Made is located at is fairly quiet and empty in the evenings.“

“This place is a sure gem! Everything from the top notch service to the clean and neat environment, to the exquisite desserts. We were so impressed. I had the 'Fruitmania' and it was very good. It was the first time trying ashta and the more I ate it, the more I fell in love with it. It was perfectly paired with the strawberry and mango juice. The right amount of sweetness! Barbershop seems to be known for its Lemon Bichon and this AMAZING cake, but man the sausage rolls, the almond croissants, the apple turnovers, etc are all amazing as well. Trying Fraisier and La Paix while I’m writing this review, Fraisier (the fruit one) has a strong taste and the fruits are fresh and juicy, La Paix (the lemon one) has multiple layers of texture and the lemon pieces on the top tastes spiral and I loved it.“

“We visited Chocolada for the first time and had such a wonderful experience! As soon as we walked in, we were warmly welcomed, and to our surprise, they gave us a free box of pastries such a kind gesture!

The pastries were absolutely delicious. Even though it’s been almost a week and we’ve been enjoying them little by little, they’re still fresh and full of flavor. You can really taste the quality and care in every bite.

The shop itself is clean, cozy, and has a really positive atmosphere. We truly felt welcomed and appreciated as customers.

“A hidden gem in the plaza beside Longos. I ordered a custom cake and called Julia twice with some specific requests. She truly delivered and did a FANTASTIC job!! The price was also extremely reasonable - a tall 8” cake topped with four macarons came up to $55. It was moist, decadent, and not too sweet. If I was to be very picky, I would request the hazelnut in the buttercream to be crushed into smaller pieces and caution the pistachio and mocha flavours in the macarons were not prominent. Still, a solid 5/5 and I will order here again. Thank you for the special cake for a special person :)“

I highly reccommend their Abbie (dark chocolate and raspberry), mont blanc, imo tart, kinako choux and matcha choux!! I love the new summer drink with dango and red bean matcha latte. “I ordered a cake slab from Irresistible Cakes (icakes) just a few days before my event, and the process was seamless. Their customer service was fantastic throughout! However, on the day of the event, I found myself stuck on the DVP for 3 hours due to an unexpected highway closure (yes, I was late). To make things worse, there was a mix-up with the delivery address – Ave instead of Rd.

Thankfully, icakes went above and beyond by instructing the driver to reroute, even though they didn’t have to, and I was beyond grateful for their flexibility. I can’t guarantee they’d do this for everyone, as they have a pretty thorough policy, but their willingness to help saved the day.

Luckily, someone was at the event to receive the cake, and it was a hit with everyone! Huge thanks to icakes for the excellent experience, and a special shoutout to the driver! Of course, I made sure to tip!“

“I finally had the chance to visit Bomou with my fam and it was a lovely experience from start to finish! We had the lemon meringue tart, bostock (brioche with almonds and flavoured with orange), apple caramel cookies, butter croissant, a piece of pie, a baguette, and an earl grey canele. To drink we had the coffee, an oat milk cappuccino, and the lavender lemonade! We also bought some of the loose leaf mint tea as a gift. Everyone adored what they ordered! All of the pastries were beautiful to the eye and wonderful on the palate! Flavours such as the orange in the bostock, the lemon in the tart and even the earl grey in the canele were fragrant and gentle, never overpowering or overwhelming! Beautiful texture to all the foods and even the drinks were impressive and expertly crafted! Their coffee is some of the very very best I have had in Canada. (Rich and velvety, non-astringent and not-sharp.) If you want a proper cup of coffee you’ll find it here!!! Their lavender lemonade is gorgeous! I love lavender and found this to be a delicate and refreshing combination and recommend you definitely try it out!!! (Plus the bottle is lovely!) We all were impressed with the helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff and were amazed by the talent and creativity of their baker/chef! Thank you Boumou for a delicious experience!!!!!“

“Went to Butter Baker for brunch two weekends in a row. This place has a very quiet, lowkey vibe if you're early enough, but gets very busy throughout the brunch hours. The wait to be seated can be up to 40 minutes at times, so I recommend arriving early to secure a spot. We ordered the Yuzu chicken and waffles and the honey garlic chicken and waffles, and were impressed by both. The Yuzu tossed chicken was tangy and paired perfectly with the sweet waffles. The portion sizes were a bit inconsistent, but otherwise a great meal.“

“I am absolutely speechless. I just tried one piece of baklava from Narin Pastry and it was a life-changing experience. It literally MELTS in your mouth! I was in Turkey last year and went to what is considered the best baklava spot in the country, and I can say without a doubt that this is just as good, if not better. My only wish is that this was a full-scale cafe or restaurant because if people knew how good this was, the place would be packed 24/7. I am now on a mission to try every single thing on their menu. I'd like to give Future Bakery at the corner of Brunswick and Bloor a solid 5/5 little a's for their (lack) of AODA aware service today. I don't think members of your community who have lived here for decades deserve to leave your establishment crying because of the lack of knowledge or compassion from your staff and service. Step up and perhaps (re)train everyone re: AODA guidelines? I will no longer be returning.
