“We were just introduced to this bakery and this is the real deal for French pastries and bread.
Tried an assortment of pastries and the whole family enjoyed.

We have tried many different bakeries across East Toronto and this is our new favourite.

“As per a recommendation by a friend, I opted to try them out for my daughter’s 1st birthday. We got an ube fringe cake which was so beautifully decorated but also absolutely delicious. Barbershop seems to be known for its Lemon Bichon and this AMAZING cake, but man the sausage rolls, the almond croissants, the apple turnovers, etc are all amazing as well. “All the cakes looked astonishing and attempting. While I was purchasing, the service was super. They were patiently waiting for me to order and nicely providing me with suggestions and services. The taste of the cake was also amazing. Trying Fraisier and La Paix while I’m writing this review, Fraisier (the fruit one) has a strong taste and the fruits are fresh and juicy, La Paix (the lemon one) has multiple layers of texture and the lemon pieces on the top tastes spiral and I loved it.“

“Super fluffy and soft, made very fresh and if you buy 6 there is no tax :) got the savoury pizza buns, Japanese curry buns, spicy chicken bun and hot dog bun. Loved it! “A hidden gem in the plaza beside Longos. I ordered a custom cake and called Julia twice with some specific requests. She truly delivered and did a FANTASTIC job!! The price was also extremely reasonable - a tall 8” cake topped with four macarons came up to $55. It was moist, decadent, and not too sweet. If I was to be very picky, I would request the hazelnut in the buttercream to be crushed into smaller pieces and caution the pistachio and mocha flavours in the macarons were not prominent. Still, a solid 5/5 and I will order here again. Thank you for the special cake for a special person :)“

“This place has an INCREDIBLE variety of delicious pastries. I usually come in for iced coffee before work but there wasn’t any available a few times over the last week. It’s also very overpriced so i will start trying to bring some from home instead.“

“Great selection of desserts to choose from! I ended up getting the Violetta tart and the Black Sesame Tofu Cheesecake.

Violetta: A purple sweet potato tart that is one of their most popular desserts here. Despite its small size, this was quite filling and dense on the inside. Strong flavours but not too sweet.

Tofu Cheesecake: I wasn't intending to get this but ended up loving it so much! The texture was amazing, very soft. The black sesame was a great flavour. I've had tofu cheesecakes before but this was certainly one of the best ones I've had.

Overall, totally worth visiting. The sit-down environment was a great casual space with a self-serve water station. I would totally come back again if I'm in the area. If you want to pay with credit card you will have to spend a minimum of $10.“

“I ordered a cake slab from Irresistible Cakes (icakes) just a few days before my event, and the process was seamless. Their customer service was fantastic throughout! However, on the day of the event, I found myself stuck on the DVP for 3 hours due to an unexpected highway closure (yes, I was late). To make things worse, there was a mix-up with the delivery address – Ave instead of Rd.

Thankfully, icakes went above and beyond by instructing the driver to reroute, even though they didn’t have to, and I was beyond grateful for their flexibility. I can’t guarantee they’d do this for everyone, as they have a pretty thorough policy, but their willingness to help saved the day.

Luckily, someone was at the event to receive the cake, and it was a hit with everyone! Huge thanks to icakes for the excellent experience, and a special shoutout to the driver! Of course, I made sure to tip!“

“Butter Baker is a great spot for desserts or snacks. We ordered the ice cream and a waffle. The order was prepared very quickly so we did not have to wait for a long time. There was also free water that is self served. As well, the server did not really check up on us, but overall the service was alright. “I finally had the chance to visit Bomou with my fam and it was a lovely experience from start to finish! We had the lemon meringue tart, bostock (brioche with almonds and flavoured with orange), apple caramel cookies, butter croissant, a piece of pie, a baguette, and an earl grey canele. To drink we had the coffee, an oat milk cappuccino, and the lavender lemonade! We also bought some of the loose leaf mint tea as a gift. Everyone adored what they ordered! All of the pastries were beautiful to the eye and wonderful on the palate! Flavours such as the orange in the bostock, the lemon in the tart and even the earl grey in the canele were fragrant and gentle, never overpowering or overwhelming! Beautiful texture to all the foods and even the drinks were impressive and expertly crafted! Their coffee is some of the very very best I have had in Canada. (Rich and velvety, non-astringent and not-sharp.) If you want a proper cup of coffee you’ll find it here!!! Their lavender lemonade is gorgeous! I love lavender and found this to be a delicate and refreshing combination and recommend you definitely try it out!!! (Plus the bottle is lovely!) We all were impressed with the helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff and were amazed by the talent and creativity of their baker/chef! Thank you Boumou for a delicious experience!!!!!“

“There is 'big A' ACCESSIBILITY, wherein establishments make themselves a welcoming environment to those with disabilities and special needs; then there is 'little a' accessibility, where they will manage, tolerate, and make you feel uncomfortable at best. I'd like to give Future Bakery at the corner of Brunswick and Bloor a solid 5/5 little a's for their (lack) of AODA aware service today. I don't think members of your community who have lived here for decades deserve to leave your establishment crying because of the lack of knowledge or compassion from your staff and service. Step up and perhaps (re)train everyone re: AODA guidelines? I will no longer be returning. LEVEL UP Future Bakery , thanks for adding insult to injury: your takeout cups are faulty, and mine fell out from the bottom including pouring my hot coffee all over me.“

“I ordered a birthday cake here the first time. I expected the writings will be placed on top of the retangular cake. There are lots of empty spaces... why they put the writing on a very tiny piece of chocolate and put it at the side of the bottom. It was hardly to see what was in the writing. For what occasion and for who! Quite disappointed! And they charged me a price of $17 more according to their listed price of $65 for a 8"x12" cake. Plus an extra of $20 for the pair of baby shoes (a plastic toy) for decoration. I also tried their bread, also find the textures are hard to chew... I wont return again.“
