Our professional and friendly server, Betty, stopped by the table within a couple of minutes and took our order. In the past, we have had horrible wait times at the Swiss Chalet on Weber Street (40 minutes or more) so we decided to give Swiss Chalet on Fairway Road a try. Boy, we were amazed and pleasantly surprised. We received our food within ten minutes. It was delicious! The chicken was tender and the market vegetables were cooked perfectly. Betty, our server, made the experience at Swiss Chalet all the better by the attentive and professional service that she provided. We will be back to Swiss Chalet, Fairway Road, Kitchener. Is a small space and just 1 door at front so hard to avoid. Recommend requesting a table closest to the bar during cold weather to help lessen the cold drafts. We'll definitely be back!”

Unfortunately I dove face first into my pizza before remembering to take a photo. The homemade Caesar dressing is also something quite special. The service: Staff was so attentive and on their game. They had us full of drinks, appetizers, mains, and dessert (in a lot of cases) in under two hours. We have some older members, some who work midnights and such, and the timing really meant a lot to them. We have had exceptional service in the past but the organization of this small kitchen and the serving staff is impressive! Everyone under that roof tonight showed so much pride in what they were doing. We will be talking about this stop for quite some time. Thank you for having us!”

I am not a gluten- free expert, as I am only starting to treat my ailments through experimentation, but let me tell you this - I am very happy with the product from Winnie’s! I went in and was promptly greeted, and the young lady that helped me was so pleasant and patient while I asked a million questions. I purchased a standard gluten/dairy free loaf of white bread. When I got home, I cut myself a generous slice, popped it in the toaster and buttered it. I had very low expectations to be honest, but what do you know… IT WAS FANTASTIC! I would go as far to say that’s it’s better than grocery store (gluten filled) bread. I can finally have a toasted tomato sandwich again 🤗 Will definitely be back!”

The food was definitely worth the wait though. The bathrooms were also a bit dirty but it wasn’t anything too bad. All in all, I would definitely come back here again to try the other menu items!”

The texture was light and airy like a cheesy or corn puff. It was interesting. But not to my preference. Portion was HUGE.”

I visited around 4:30pm on a Sunday afternoon and it was about half full in the upstairs seating - there's maybe 6 or 7 tables in total, most of which are for two people. So might be worth a reservation if you plan to visit during a busier period.
Had the Casa Toro beer, which was supremely delicious. Glad I decided to try that out instead of the Modelo.
For food, we ordered (for two people) - 1 order birria tacos, 1 order carnitas tacos, and 1 order shrimp tacos - so 9 tacos in total. In terms of food amount it was great, only a little left to take away. The birria tacos were by far the best - not just taste-wise but also ease of eating. The carnitas could more or less handle, but the shrimp tacos were basically a disaster - totally falling apart no matter how you try to pick it up. A knife and fork would definitely have been the way to go with those. Nonetheless, they were tasty. Just difficult logistically.
Parking at the Benton St garage, to which the restaurant is basically attached, means it couldn't be easier to get to the place, either. Which was nice.”

“This is one of the best breweries in Kitchener/Waterloo and Cambridge. Personally, it's one of the few breweries in Canada that come across entirely personable and incredibly welcoming to everyone. The owner is extremely helpful, enthusiast, and well-knowledgeable about all areas of their business. The available beers will rotate, so often you can try a variety of different delicious beers throughout the year but still pick up their staples which are absolutely fantastic (make sure to do yourself a favour and grab some Lando!) The prices are fair, the areas are clean/well managed, and I have never encountered an issue with the mulitple times I have attended this establishment whether if it was for concerts, going with friends or just stopping in for a beer after work. It is one of the few places I know that not only an adult can enjoy, but kids are welcome with their parents and even dogs, too! I wish there were more places like Short Finger Brewing Co. in Kitchener/Waterloo/Cambridge, but I am extremely happy we have this place as not only do they support the Region of Waterloo at every opportunity but host a number of events for Arts community and more. I know if I stop in, it'll never be for a quick visit because it feels like a home away from home. And honestly, I love that.”

But most importantly, she will make me my vegetarian wraps when they are sold out from the case. She is so accommodating to her customers and cares deeply about their satisfaction. Full disclosure, I struggle with ARFID (Avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder) as a characteristic of my my autism. I tend to only be able to eat the same things every day. It can be quite distressing when food items are discontinued and I have to pivot quickly. When the menu was transitioning with the season and the mango wraps were no longer available, she offered to make them for me without my even asking. I was also able to try the avocado wraps and they are just as delicious! She likely has no idea what that meant to me or why. That her patience and kind gestures made my days so much less stressful. I appreciate her so much, I never want to be a bother to anyone so I rarely ask for accommodations. That she offered to make the old ones, and helped me to feel comfortable trying the new ones by explaining the similarities in the ingredients, made me feel so valued both as a customer and a person. Update: I’ve visited way too many times to count since this review and wanted to share that the quality has remained consistent, friendly staff, quick service, and the ambiance of the cafe is so charming and cozy. They also host a variety of unique events like gilmore girl nights and craft events which I think is amazing! It’s a really nice spot to people watch, read, or draw.
My new favourite menu item (which I’ve had 4 times), is their blueberry earl grey matcha. I hope they make it a permanent menu item it’s SO GOOD. Even if you’re not a blueberry fan it just tastes so fresh and delightful and perfect you need to try it. I have also had their cherry blossom donut, raspberry scone, orange sherbet drink (I can’t remember the exact name), cereal milk latte and they’ve all been great.”

I then got the bacon buddy breakfast sandwich. I gotta say the price put me off..$17 for a breakfast sandwich is alot....but it was worth it! The bread is a fresh made croissant like bun. The egg was perfectly cooked. The bacon was thick and not to salty. The whole thing just melted in the mouth. It's the second best breakfast sandwich I've ever had and well worth the money.
Then it came with home fries which I did not realize when I ordered. Again surprised by the quality. I don't love home fries but these were well cut, fried crispy outside and fluffy inside. I finished them all.

“Finally went for the first time tonight. It's take out, so no 'atmosphere' to speak of, aside from the staff was super friendly. I got the shredded chicken sandwich. There is a bit of a language barrier as I didn't know what the topping options were. She did ask me if I wanted spicy, which I said no. She added the veggie mix, carrots and something with a mild pickling, cucumber a leafy green and a mild sauce, she heated it up and I also got an order of the spring rolls.
The sub was really good. The bun had a crispy/flaky crust and was soft inside. The filling had a really nice flavor. The spring rolls were so crispy and tasted fantastic. Great value with $6.50 for any of the subs and the spring rolls were $5.00 for 5. I will definitely go back.”

“I don’t know where to start with this one. It has to be one of the best cafe in town tucked away in some streets of downtown Kitchener. It has one of the best coffees and sometimes the line up and get overwhelming and their almost no place for tables and it’s small cafe it’s always full. I had their cappuccino and it’s really nice and they have different varieties of filled donuts which are delicious and scones.
