“I come here for the poutine! I’ve been coming here since I was 14 yrs - 2014 - the flavour not the taste has changed - hands down the BESTTTT poutine in all of GTA in my opinion!! EVERYTIME I bring a new friend or family here, the poutine gets 100/100 EVERYTIME!!

“We recently ordered from York Burger for a family gathering of 6 people, and overall it was an excellent experience from start to finish.

We tried their pizza and chicken wings, and both were outstanding in terms of taste, freshness, and portion size. The food came in generous quantities—honestly, more than enough for our family. Even with six people sharing, we still couldn’t finish everything, which really shows how well they serve their portions.

The pizza was delicious with a good balance of toppings, cheese, and crust. It tasted fresh and well-prepared, not heavy or overly oily. The chicken wings were also very impressive—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and full of flavor. Everything felt high quality and well cooked.

What made the experience even better was how happy the kids were. The little ones especially enjoyed the food and were very excited throughout the meal, which made the whole family gathering even more enjoyable.

A special mention goes to Faisal, who hosted us. His hospitality was very good and added a nice personal touch to the experience. It really felt welcoming and well taken care of.

Overall, York Burger delivered great taste, excellent quantity, and a satisfying experience for the whole family. We would definitely consider ordering again and recommending it to others looking for good quality, filling, and tasty food.“

“Lovely restaurant with great food and good customer service. We were seated in the patio which was very nice and had air conditioning. Food came out piping hot and was tasty. Staff regularly checked in on us which was great.

Only criticism was that we found a bug in the vinegar. Once pointed out to staff, it was addressed promptly, but still dampened our experience.“

She said the fish and chips were some of the best she’s had, not even accounting for the gluten free aspect! We would definitely come here again 100%.“

“Had our anniversary dinner there on a Saturday night. We both ordered the halibut and fries with coleslaw on the side. The fish was Lightly battered and crispy. The fries were nicely done and not too oily. It went well with the homemade tartar sauce. It was very quiet with only another couple have dinner. The restaurant has not changed and is still run by the same family. We will definitely come back.“

“Really happy and satisfied with the breakfast. Ordered the bacon avacado and truffle mushroom benny. The unlimited refill coffee was also good.

A suggestion would be to have the option to change the english muffin to a different base, e.g. sour dough bread or other choices.

“Had a wonderful birthday dinner here. We splits 4 apps, 1 side, tacos & 1 main and everything was an “order again”. The staff was very attentive and helpful selecting from the menu. I would recommend stopping in for drinks & an app or a full meal.“

I used to visit thru the years whenever I was nearby my father and friends always loved the food and friendly atmosphere.

“Oh my goodness!! If I could give more stars I would. The Haddock was absolutely delicious! It was so fresh and piping hot. The fish was cooked perfectly. The French fries were also piping hot. The gravy was good. It would have been nice to serve such delicious fish with homemade Tatar Sauce but it was not. Just packets. I think my head would have blown off had it been homemade. That’s how delicious it was. Regardless of packaged Tatar Sauce, it was still over the top- good to eat.“

“This was my second visit to Gil’s Fish & Chipperie at the Eaton Centre. I came on Thursday afternoon at 3.30pm. I ordered the half portion of fish and chips, and once again it didn’t disappoint.

The fish was crispy outside and flaky inside, with hot, well-seasoned fries — a satisfying portion that felt just right. I also want to give a shout-out to the cashier girl, who was friendly and welcoming, making the quick stop even more pleasant.

“2026 April - The food here is very hot and good. The waitresses are very casual and friendly. The restaurant is run down so don't eat-in if that bothers you.

Check your take-out bags before you leave. I ordered fish and fries and gravy to go. I was very disappointed when many hours later I cracked the bag only to find zero gravy. DISAPPOINTED ‼️

“I've been going to another popular leaside fish and chips place, but they could never accommodate my family's diets (pescatarian) as they fried using tallow and with meat. I couldn't believe I found a place that was pescatarian friendly, had a larger menu, and tasted better. Service was great! Just ask for no salt on the chips“

“Was there on Saturday for lunch. I got the cod and it didn’t disappoint. The fish and the batter were flavorful and the fish was moist. The batter felt very light and not greasy. I usually take the halibut (which is always great) but this time I decided to go with the cod. It was a very nice compromise for quality/price. The fries were excellent. Although there is no table service, the staff was extremely friendly in our interactions.
I’ve been going for years and I will continue going there. I highly recommend it.
Just be aware that there is only outside seating and the space is limited.“
