“I can count on one hand the number of times I have taken my 6yo son, who has ten food allergies and carries epipens, to a restaurant. Given our many hospital trips for anaphylaxis, it is a tremendously stressful thing for us to consider and the risks typically outweigh the benefits. After the isolation of the pandemic and considering my son is older now, we decided to try again. With no insistence on my part, our server Keegan took my son's ten food allergies very seriously: when he couldn't remember the ingredients for a menu item (most he knew in detail), he acknowledges that and checked labels without my asking, even brough some over for us to check ourselves. He also reassured us that he and the other staff members would thoroughly sanitize food prep areas and do everything in their power to ensure my kid had a safe and positive experience. He even got a bandaid for him at one point and helped put it on (adorable). I don't have words to describe how much I appreciate his service and what it means to me, personally, in a world where we've had to be so constantly hypervigilant around food. Thank you Keegan!!!
