“My husband and I always wanted to try hotpot. First time here and the food was simply amazing. We had the porkp Bone broth. So rich in flavor. The restaurant has a complimentary snack bar and sauce section. The meat selection was so vast. The meat too was very fresh. All the staff were very friendly, especially our server Cindy. “Food wasn’t not bad, very much like home cooking (something your mom cooks for you). Dishes were not too greasy and light in taste. However, the noise level inside was so high that I almost left (if not to meet friends there, I would have left). You could hardly hear yourself, not to mentioned hearing others. Price was on the high side, considered the home style cooking and its ingredients. Don’t try their BBQ pork, but do try their chicken and duck. Their desserts, I would recommend skipping.“

“Don’t Yell at Me is such a cute little spot with a fun vibe. I tried the Tiramisu Tea Latte, and it honestly felt like dessert in a cup creamy, rich, and so comforting. The Osmanthus Tea Latte was lighter and floral, really refreshing. Both drinks were beautifully presented and felt unique compared to other tea places. It’s definitely a nice place to relax and sip something different.“

“Ordered the strawberry bingsu and one of the lattes. Both were very good and the large bingsu was enough for two people. It has cheesecake bites in it which was very tasty. I would recommend getting the strawberry cake bingsu to get more cake pieces because they are really good“

The friendly staff always put a smile on my face, from ordering to finishing my meal. The restaurant continues to evolve, introducing new menu ideas and popular Filipino desserts-to-go like Taho, Buko Pandan, and Fruit Salad. Kabalen is a true gem in North York, perfect for bringing visitors to satisfy their cravings - a home away from home. One drawback though, is the accessibility. The dining area is located upstairs and the washroom is downstairs in the basement. As a result, it is not advisable for wheelchair users to dine in. Nonetheless, the establishment maintains a clean environment and is conducive for group gatherings, or for individuals like myself, who just wants to unwind after a days work.“

The ambiance and the drinks were great, the food was excellent. Our server Nick was super attentive and helpful with recommendations. “Back for a 2nd time, food just as delicious and fresh as the first time. It was nice to enjoy their reasonably priced lunch menu, we enjoyed the Sicilian (one with turkey and no eggplant) and the Turkey with provolone and jelly. My daughter ordered bow tie pesto pasta di burrata - out of this world fresh and delish! We ordered bruschetta and heated olives/crostini and the maple pecan salad, the dressing was a bit on the sweet side if you don't mind, we found it scrumptious. Desserts were great, cannoli with pistachio filling, chocolate eclair (we think coffee would be better), tiramisu was ok, and best of all of them however was the nutella filled croissant with fresh strawberries, heaven! Happy to go again, and again, and again :-)“

You can usually never go wrong with pizzas and especially over here. Also, hands down the best calamari I have had in this city has been from here. Trust me when I say that, it was so good that I forgot to take a picture lol. We are definitely coming back again!“

“Super cute little cafe! We really enjoyed our drinks. We got the latte donut and the butterfly latte (non-caffeinated). For the donut latte they pour it in front of you, allow you to try it and they add some more. Which I found pretty cool. The staff working was very kind, helped us decide what to get by recommending and patiently explaining. The cafe is a bit small with probably around 10 seats. We came on a Friday at around 2:30 and lucky was able to get a seat. Their drinks are a bit pricey though, the donut latte was around $10 and the butterfly latte was around $7. I believe they are also pet friendly. Would definitely come again, loved the vibes!
