Is it solid as hell for Toronto? Absolutely.

Brisket’s legit. Sausage has snap. Sides hold their own. It’s not backyard pitmaster level, but for being north of the border? They do it justice.

Yeah, it’s pricey. But that’s not a knock on them — BBQ done right takes time, meat costs are insane, and labor ain’t cheap in the city.

The restaurant has a modern feel to it and the staff is incredibly attentive to our food needs. Such good service! “Dropped by to welcome a friend back to Canada, and this place delivered more than we expected. We went in on the Party Pack 4, which came with a full rack, 1 lb wings with their signature BBQ sauce, 1 lb pulled pork, coleslaw, beans, fries, cornbread, and a tub of sauce. On top of that, we added Pig Skins and a pound of pulled brisket just because we couldn’t help ourselves.
To my taste, things leaned a bit saucy overall, but wow, the balance was something else. Ribs just fell apart with a bite, no knife needed. Pulled pork and brisket weren’t overly tender like some others, but still super satisfying and kind of addictive once you get into it. Wings and fries hit the mark, no need to overthink. Pig Skins were a great suggestion from the server too, no regrets there.
Even though it seemed like only one person was running the floor, service was attentive and easygoing. No lineup, quick turnaround, and just good vibes. Only wish the AC was working a bit stronger, but honestly, when the food hits this well, you kinda forget the rest.

“This specific location is one of me and my partner’s go to spots. Not just because the meat is prepared better here, but because of Deborah’s service. She always greets us at the door and remembers every tiny details. Moving the chairs so we can sit same side, provides us extra chili powder (highly recommend to sprinkle this on every piece of meat), “everything the same?” after we place our order and our excitement for the complimentary marshmallows at the end. Deborah goes above and beyond for this location. Shoutout to her for always carrying the whole restaurant on her back.“

“I used to go to Yummy BBQ often when I was still living in Toronto, and it quickly became one of my go-to Korean food places. Everything on the menu that I’ve tried tastes really good, but my usual orders were the pork bone soup (Gamja-tang) and the barbecue (both pork and beef). The pork bone soup is flavourful, and very comforting, while the barbecue meats are always tasty and satisfying. Portions are generous and you definitely get good value for your money.

I know some people mention in their reviews that the owners can come across as grumpy, and I’ve noticed that too. But I also believe we don’t really know what someone has gone through or is going through. Plus, the owners are already older and handle everything themselves -- cooking, serving, working the counter -- so I understand why they may seem stern. In my experience, after a few visits they warmed up a bit, and I came to appreciate their hardworking spirit behind the business.

“Not all portugese grills are the same _ Firstly when you walk into this establishment you notice how clean it is _ no matter what time you walk in _ its spotless unlike some other restaurants where the first thing that hits you is the uncleanness _ Lavrador's Bbq open kitchen is huge and the place has been there for a long time _ but the massive overhead exhaust systems grills and ovens are extremely clean and new looking _ always shiny _ hot table as well (which contains and displays some of the tastiest food ive had if not the tastiest) always fresh and kept at proper temperatures _ next thing you see is Linda the owner coming out from the back walking towards you with a smile if she is not already serving another customer _ always friendly _ never a long face _ even though she might be exhausted near the end of a long day from all the cooking cleaning and serving (not to mention the heat) she is very professional and does most of it herself _ not to take anything away from her helper _ also the variety of food should be noted _ she has the main dishes every day Like the chicken _ potatoes _ rice _ fish which is all extremely tasty but she also throws in some other dishes that you will find on certain days like chineese style stir fry rice and lasagna _ stew with potatoes peas and pork_ fava beans,roast beef roast pork cod fish stew,cod fish and potato pie if that's your thing _ and where else can you get a huge turkey drum stick and feel like a king _ also her home made corn bread is amazing_ and for what you get in regards to quality of service_ quality of atmosphere and quality of most importantly the food the prices are unbeleivable _ I havent tried all of the dishes yet but I plan to _ im on my way there now

Probably one of the best meals you can get on the Danforth strip. The food is exceptionally tasty, fresh, and served with so much love. The shish tawook, and lentil soup are so satisfying in every way.

“We were genuinely surprised by how good this place was. The ribs and wings were incredible, and the mac and cheese and banana pudding were honestly some of the best we’ve had. Brittany took care of us and she was fantastic—warm, attentive, and very easy to deal with.
The only downside was the long wait for our food. We arrived at 7 pm during peak hours, and the kitchen seemed overwhelmed by how busy it was. That said, once the food arrived, it was absolutely worth it. We’re already looking forward to going back.“

The Chicken Souvlaki meal was so tender and soft not overcooked and spiced nicely the Greek salad was humongous everything was big in sizes the half chicken dinner my mom and he split came with two sides with enough fries enough salad for four people. Everything was spot on for such a nice small place and they do care about what they're giving their customers. It's not a large selection it's mostly chicken there's some Gyros and a couple of other things on there but you won't be disappointed if you go here if I can give it more than a five I would give it a 10.“
