Brisket’s legit. Sausage has snap. Sides hold their own. It’s not backyard pitmaster level, but for being north of the border? They do it justice.

Yeah, it’s pricey. But that’s not a knock on them — BBQ done right takes time, meat costs are insane, and labor ain’t cheap in the city.

Charged me $2 for the smallest amount of pink sauce.. I waited about 15 minutes to eat the chicken and it was quite soggy, so eat it right away. “Dropped by to welcome a friend back to Canada, and this place delivered more than we expected. We went in on the Party Pack 4, which came with a full rack, 1 lb wings with their signature BBQ sauce, 1 lb pulled pork, coleslaw, beans, fries, cornbread, and a tub of sauce. On top of that, we added Pig Skins and a pound of pulled brisket just because we couldn’t help ourselves.
To my taste, things leaned a bit saucy overall, but wow, the balance was something else. Ribs just fell apart with a bite, no knife needed. Pulled pork and brisket weren’t overly tender like some others, but still super satisfying and kind of addictive once you get into it. Wings and fries hit the mark, no need to overthink. Pig Skins were a great suggestion from the server too, no regrets there.
Even though it seemed like only one person was running the floor, service was attentive and easygoing. No lineup, quick turnaround, and just good vibes. Only wish the AC was working a bit stronger, but honestly, when the food hits this well, you kinda forget the rest.
Already planning to come back so I can go deeper into the sauces and maybe build my own plate next time. Real solid spot.“

I go here every other week or so when I'm too lazy to make lunch. You can get a hefty portion of rice and meat of your choice for around $12-$14 (cash only). You can also order meat by the pound and cook your own rice at home.

They've truly perfected the technique. A lot of locals come here for lunch which will result in a wait, but it goes to show how popular it is amongst those in the area. If you're ever around, I'd highly recommend giving this place a try!“

I have worked in the restaurant business for many a year and for Greek restaurants as well the chicken at this place is absolutely amazing. The Chicken Souvlaki meal was so tender and soft not overcooked and spiced nicely the Greek salad was humongous everything was big in sizes the half chicken dinner my mom and he split came with two sides with enough fries enough salad for four people. Everything was spot on for such a nice small place and they do care about what they're giving their customers. It's not a large selection it's mostly chicken there's some Gyros and a couple of other things on there but you won't be disappointed if you go here if I can give it more than a five I would give it a 10.“

“yesterday i visited this new arabic restaurant on the danforth with my family to celebrate my younger sister’s birthday, and i can confidently say it was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. there were six of us, and we were all in the mood for some delicious arab food. we decided to give this new spot a try for lunch in the afternoon, and it completely exceeded our expectations.

from the moment we walked in, we were greeted so warmly by the owner and her daughter. their kindness and genuine hospitality immediately made us feel at home. the atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and you could tell right away that they truly care about their guests. throughout our meal, the service was excellent!! they checked in on us often, made sure everything was perfect, and even as the restaurant got busy, they gave everyone equal attention.

now, the food.. WOW.. absolutely incredible. everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with love and attention to detail. the menu has something for everyone, which i really appreciate. if you’re very hungry, they have hearty plates like the mixed grill. but if you want something lighter, there are plenty of options like the mana’ish. it’s nice that you can find both full meals and light bites, depending on what you’re in the mood for.

our table ordered a variety of dishes so we could try a bit of everything. one of us got the mixed grill plate, which came with skewers of different meats and the option to have half rice and half fries which was such a thoughtful touch for people indecisive such as myself. my husband ordered the mana’ish, half za’atar and half five cheese, and it was honestly incredible! and, of course, because i was out with my family, i took a bite of everyone’s food (lol). every single dish was a hit ❤️ hot, fresh, perfectly seasoned, and full of flavor. even the sides.. the fries were literally cooked to perfection and im still thinking about them haha

the drink selection was great too, offering a range from pop and juices to tea and coffee. there’s something for every taste.

since it was my sister’s birthday, we brought a cake and asked if they could bring it out for us at the end of the meal. they went above and beyond. they played the happy birthday song through the speakers, helped us light the candles, and brought it out so nicely. it turned into such a joyful and memorable moment 🥹 everyone in the restaurant smiled, and even a few people joined in singing. the whole atmosphere was full of warmth and happiness.

it ended up being such a wonderful afternoon. the food, the service, the friendliness, and the overall feeling of the place made it so special.

“I used to go to Yummy BBQ often when I was still living in Toronto, and it quickly became one of my go-to Korean food places. Everything on the menu that I’ve tried tastes really good, but my usual orders were the pork bone soup (Gamja-tang) and the barbecue (both pork and beef). The pork bone soup is flavourful, and very comforting, while the barbecue meats are always tasty and satisfying. Portions are generous and you definitely get good value for your money.

I know some people mention in their reviews that the owners can come across as grumpy, and I’ve noticed that too. But I also believe we don’t really know what someone has gone through or is going through. Plus, the owners are already older and handle everything themselves -- cooking, serving, working the counter -- so I understand why they may seem stern. In my experience, after a few visits they warmed up a bit, and I came to appreciate their hardworking spirit behind the business.

For me, Yummy BBQ has always been about enjoying hearty, authentic Korean dishes, and that’s what keeps me coming back whenever I was in the area.
