“Made a last minute decision to get fish'n chips on Christmas Eve and a few of the Milton options were closed, so ventured over to Thisle for the first time.

First interesting thing was placing my order for pickup. I honestly though I was speaking to an AI bot. The experience was positive, but I assume English was not their first language and they had a slight robotic tone, so it threw me off when I met the guy in person, who was quite busy but still very courteous.

The food portions were adequate for the price, but more important was the taste was above average - and this is coming from my family that are Brits who love their fish n chips. So it looks like Thisle will be one of our new first choices.“

“Classic Halibut and Chips, fries are homecut style fleshy, tasty, perfect fish is good quanity a bit overdone as is usual with fish and chip places, but not so bad to degrade the experience. They dont do their own tartar but thats ok because I like the packet style. Non branded ketchup is a downside, but I see thats become the norm at takeout nowadays. Overall good experience would return.“

We started with a crisp Caesar salad (the only one I've ever had that I can say compete with my father's - even Dad agreed) and a beautifully balanced Caprese salad with the freshest basil, both savoury and well-executed. Even the bread and butter were exceptionally phenomenal—a simple yet telling detail of the kitchen’s commitment to quality. For mains, the halibut was perfectly tender, the rack of lamb with scallops rich and flavourful, and the filet mignon flawlessly cooked with a peppercorn sauce that was absolute perfection. Each dish showcased precision and top-quality ingredients, all complemented by a bold, complex 2013 Brunello Monticiano. “My friend and I drove to B-Side Social from Niagara after winning a dozen free oysters and it did not disappoint! The oysters were so good we ordered an additional dozen along with the caprese salad and it was phenomenal! All of the staff was amazing. The owner (I think) or at least the GM came and chatted with us a few times, she had great energy! Our server Autumn was super cute and did a bang up job! Will def recommend and return!“

“Absolutely adore Secco, my husband and I have celebrated our anniversary here, my birthday, and many other events including high tea and brunch. Not only is the food divine and the drinks delicious, but the staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and kind. The chef holds themself to such a high standard that they came out and apologized to me as he felt the last lobster tail they had was not good enough for us and did not meet secco standards and he did not want to serve it as he wanted the best for us, we were given a free appetizer and glasses of prosecco for this, and were highly impressed by not only the honesty, but the standard Secco holds itself to. 10/10 my favourite place to go in Hamilton ♥️“

“Definitely going back old school here. Felt a little like pulp fiction with Zedd as my server. Anyway, good food and priced ok would have expected it to be cheaper. Type of place and crowd who mind their own business and know one another. Not the cheapest place but I like my hot hamburger and the all day breakfast/lunch menus are a nice option“

Elyse, brado, and there server who served us (updated once we get his name) (Feb23 @12am) are especially hardworking and who put effort in treating their guests. As someone who is a server in this industry, we can see who puts effort into their work and who enjoy it. This is a well community based restaurant with multiple connections with one another so I deeply respect, recommend, and appreciate the people who work here. We'll always be back for the people who work they're hardest here.“
