We are from the States and were met with warmth and hospitality, and given so many ideas on where to go next. Ozzi, Kevin, and Pedro, along with others, offered us a wonderful time and conversation. “We had to wait a while for our server to come take our drink order however it was not her fault. The hostess did not tell her we were seated and waiting. Tiffany our server was VERY friendly and had a great sense of humour. For the time of night we were there it was busy and she had quite a few tables to cover on her own. Kitchen took a while for our food but it did come out hot and tasty. Nice atmosphere and liked that there was a DJ that seemed to enjoy his job. Food tasted amazing just had to wait a while“

“My family went to Jack Astor's today July 18 to celebrate my husbands birthday. There was a line up waiting for tables,, but we did not wait long to get one. We were seated in a comfortable booth for the 4 of us. We enjoyed the services from the person at the reception, up to the host escorting us to our table and most especially our server Tilda who was very courteous and very professional. She came by our table as frequent as possible to check if we were ok and if we need anything else. The food we ordered were excellent. We loved he Asian wanton Nachos and the calamari and all our mains plus dessert. Thank you Tilda for your spectacular service and for bringing other workmates to gather together to sing happy birthday to my husband. Very nice harmonious voices and this made my family and most especially my husband birthday meaningful. thank you,“

“Jenn at Chuck’s Roadhouse Bar & Grill is absolutely amazing! From the moment we sat down, she was friendly, welcoming, and super attentive. She made sure our drinks were always full, our food came out perfectly, and checked in just the right amount without being overbearing.

“All arpund, a great dining experience. We visited during the FIFA World Cup when a game was being televised. Yes, it was loud in there, but what a great experience to be part of such a fun event. The food came quickly and our server, Julian, was very attentive. When the entire bar sang along to our national anthem, it was such a fun experience. The service was excellent and fast, despite the restaurant being filled with soccer fans.“

“This is our favourite neighborhood pub. Cozy fireplaces in the winter, back patio oasis in the summer. Front patio on nice days for brunch. We eat here whenever we are too lazy to cook or do dishes because the menu has a nice range, the food is good + reasonably priced and the vibes are low-key. They have the BEST wings (with the side of carrots & celery and the chunky proper blue cheese dressing) This place is honestly such a comfort and good for most occasions.“

“My husband and I were in town for the Blue Jays game to see our friends. We couldn't get tickets for the Jays game, so they recommended that we visit the Bull on Bloor in Etobicoke. This was Game 7! Do or die! We were all adorned in Jays' paraphernalia and arrived early to get seated before it got crowded. There were already many Jays fans sitting along the tables. We sat down at the bar and were greeted by a beautiful and friendly bartender, Deja. She asked us how we are. We told her we were from out of town. She knew our friends very well, and she raced around the bar to give them a huge hug. She hugged us, too! We ordered a couple of Blue Jay beer specials, and we got very comfortable. Deja was interested in where we were from and if we had family. We have two grown kids who are away at school. She showed us a picture of her adorable 3-year-old daughter. She loves her so much, and you could see she was a great mom! It started getting busier as it was closer to game time, and at this point, there was only standing room. She had two barbacks help her get the orders in. The game was on, and it was getting louder and louder as people were cheering for our JAYS! It was complete madness with so many people that you couldn't breathe. But the environment was so energetic and fun, we didn't care. We could see how busy Deja was, yet she attended to everyone's orders and never missed a beat in a professional and friendly manner. She was truly amazing! I could never handle so many people at once. The night went by, and we all know the undesirable result of the game. The entire room was in shock, and their faces were just drained in disappointment. I felt like the overwhelming sadness was shared in the room, and we all began to console each other. At that point, some discouraged people stayed and drank some more, but we needed to go. Deja thanked us, and she ran around the bar, and we all had a vigorous group hug, knowing it would be okay. We will heal. We gave her a great tip, and she thanked us and asked us to come back again. We definitely will. I highly recommend stopping by the Bull on Bloor! We made great memories and new friends.“

Quality slipped a little -- compared to when they were in the basement -- but they are solid skewers.

The skewer sizes are pretty small, but they give a lot. Total volume is about the same as other locations, but you get a much better surface area to mass ratio on the meats. This makes the skewers more heavily spiced“

Rude staff and an even more rude owner... don't bother complaining about anything because you're just going to get cussed at... absolutely appalling behavior... the usual crowd are loud obnoxious and seriously over their limits. I've witnessed tables and chairs falling all over the place on many occasions because people are way too intoxicated to think. The owner acts like he's untouchable and says things like " you're in a bar what do you expect " . I expect to be treated as a paying customer. Never going there again. also... one of the servers is literally always drunk out of her mind... my very first visit she was crying about her ex... and almost every time I ordered wings SHE GOT MY ORDER WRONG....over and over again!! let's just say ive had many free wings and stuff from her as an apology... I gave them a chance. several actually. but after that conversation with the owner.... im done. DO NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!“

“So I went to this restaurant on August 8th this week for a social event, and the onion rings and chicken fingers were good and the service was good. However, if you require news captioning, there is something wrong with the TVs or with the service that the restaurant uses which prevents them from being able to turn on closed captioning for the CP24 news channel. I was very confused as to why the staff I asked said no to me - I genuinely believed discrimination at first. However, someone from the social attempted to navigate the menus and the option for closed captioning was grayed out and not selectable. I hope that issue can be corrected in due time around the TV and/or the service as captioning has many beneficiaries and I would hate for the restaurant to miss out on repeat business because of that. My recommendation is thus based on the service around food. Numerically, everything overall is a 4 out of 5.“

“Service was fantastic! Food also great! I had pork belly and the husband had the octopus and it was sooo good. Our drink of choice is Hendrix and tonic with lime and the bar tender added a thin slice of cucumber and that was mind blowing to us. Really good and the way we'll have it from now on.
