We are from the States and were met with warmth and hospitality, and given so many ideas on where to go next. Ozzi, Kevin, and Pedro, along with others, offered us a wonderful time and conversation. “Never been to this location before, but I pass by frequently, I can definitely see the hype of this location now. Normally the servers from these corporate restaurants are nice but give very “basic standard service,” but this afternoon I had a very experience with Caitlyn! She was very knowledgeable on the menu and added to the vibe on my whole experience, super authentic. This place hit all the marks, ps I recommend the Bowtie pasta! Great experience (:“

“Awesome staff but don't buy the pitcher of beer it's a rip off they advertise 54oz but it's really 40oz. Just ask for a pint glass and you'll find out it only fills 2 18oz pint glasses. Your better off ordering the 8 dollar beer ...7 dollars on Tuesdays. 😉“

“A very cosy uptown restaurant ! I have been several times over the years and it never disappoints. Was there again last night and have to say the veal scallopini was excellent. It was a tough choice as there are so many delicious things on the menu. The friendly and excellent service, food and ambiance was perfect. A big thank you to the staff for such an enjoyable evening. “So I went to this restaurant on August 8th this week for a social event, and the onion rings and chicken fingers were good and the service was good. However, if you require news captioning, there is something wrong with the TVs or with the service that the restaurant uses which prevents them from being able to turn on closed captioning for the CP24 news channel. I was very confused as to why the staff I asked said no to me - I genuinely believed discrimination at first. However, someone from the social attempted to navigate the menus and the option for closed captioning was grayed out and not selectable. I hope that issue can be corrected in due time around the TV and/or the service as captioning has many beneficiaries and I would hate for the restaurant to miss out on repeat business because of that. My recommendation is thus based on the service around food. Numerically, everything overall is a 4 out of 5.“

“We happened upon this restaurant by a recommendation .....omg....what a diamond of a place... enter through the front door on College Street and wander through to the amazing back patio.....the ambience is unbelievable, you are made to feel so comfortable and at home....our server was Peter who was beyond amazing....if you are looking for a place to go I definitely recommend this place......we are from Ottawa way but will be coming back...totally a 10 out of 10“

“This is our favourite neighborhood pub. Cozy fireplaces in the winter, back patio oasis in the summer. Front patio on nice days for brunch. We eat here whenever we are too lazy to cook or do dishes because the menu has a nice range, the food is good + reasonably priced and the vibes are low-key. They have the BEST wings (with the side of carrots & celery and the chunky proper blue cheese dressing) This place is honestly such a comfort and good for most occasions.“

Quality slipped a little -- compared to when they were in the basement -- but they are solid skewers.

The skewer sizes are pretty small, but they give a lot. Total volume is about the same as other locations, but you get a much better surface area to mass ratio on the meats. This makes the skewers more heavily spiced“

Rude staff and an even more rude owner... don't bother complaining about anything because you're just going to get cussed at... absolutely appalling behavior... the usual crowd are loud obnoxious and seriously over their limits. I've witnessed tables and chairs falling all over the place on many occasions because people are way too intoxicated to think. The owner acts like he's untouchable and says things like " you're in a bar what do you expect " . I expect to be treated as a paying customer. Never going there again. also... one of the servers is literally always drunk out of her mind... my very first visit she was crying about her ex... and almost every time I ordered wings SHE GOT MY ORDER WRONG....over and over again!! let's just say ive had many free wings and stuff from her as an apology... I gave them a chance. several actually. but after that conversation with the owner.... im done. DO NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!“

The atmosphere on any given day is second to none, oh my, when the Toronto teams are on the tv's the patrons are so energetic, cheering clapping and having fun. Food is delicious and priced very reasonable. The staff from Johnny to Ellena, Rheal and Jasmin are the best and they look after each customer as if they are serving themselves, if you haven't been to SSJ you are missing out“

I've been a regular for a while and she has always been an excellent bartender/server and the rest of the staff that I've interacted with (Cassandra, Moyuru and aggy) have been awesome. Great place to grab a pint and a bite to eat. Patio's also stellar. I don't expect a place to cater to me because I don't want to have a minor inconvenience. “My husband and I were in town for the Blue Jays game to see our friends. We couldn't get tickets for the Jays game, so they recommended that we visit the Bull on Bloor in Etobicoke. This was Game 7! Do or die! We were all adorned in Jays' paraphernalia and arrived early to get seated before it got crowded. There were already many Jays fans sitting along the tables. We sat down at the bar and were greeted by a beautiful and friendly bartender, Deja. She asked us how we are. We told her we were from out of town. She knew our friends very well, and she raced around the bar to give them a huge hug. She hugged us, too! We ordered a couple of Blue Jay beer specials, and we got very comfortable. Deja was interested in where we were from and if we had family. We have two grown kids who are away at school. She showed us a picture of her adorable 3-year-old daughter. She loves her so much, and you could see she was a great mom! It started getting busier as it was closer to game time, and at this point, there was only standing room. She had two barbacks help her get the orders in. The game was on, and it was getting louder and louder as people were cheering for our JAYS! It was complete madness with so many people that you couldn't breathe. But the environment was so energetic and fun, we didn't care. We could see how busy Deja was, yet she attended to everyone's orders and never missed a beat in a professional and friendly manner. She was truly amazing! I could never handle so many people at once. The night went by, and we all know the undesirable result of the game. The entire room was in shock, and their faces were just drained in disappointment. I felt like the overwhelming sadness was shared in the room, and we all began to console each other. At that point, some discouraged people stayed and drank some more, but we needed to go. Deja thanked us, and she ran around the bar, and we all had a vigorous group hug, knowing it would be okay. We will heal. We gave her a great tip, and she thanked us and asked us to come back again. We definitely will. I highly recommend stopping by the Bull on Bloor! We made great memories and new friends.“

“Haven't had such nice weather in Toronto for a while .. as soon as I saw the temperature go above 15C with the sun out, I was hunting for a patio. I'm so happy we found Squirly's!! What a fun spot on Queen West with such a nice patio in the back.

We were seated instantly and had a house lager - that was very tasty and the food... ok, I was so impressed with what came out. We started with beef dumplings, really enjoyed the sauce and they have their homemade chilli oil?! Yum! And the mains - wow. We ordered the Reuben and Cuban wrap. Never heard of a Cuban wrap but that pulled port was tender and the Reuben was so juicy. The highlight of the show for me though, hands down, was the house salad. Yup, I said it lol. I've never been wow'd by a house salad but this WOW'd me. Such a huge portion given it was supposed to e jus a side ..that dressing was delicious and with the pumpkin seeds? I inhaled it. We finished off with a tiramisu cookie that I didn't think really tasted like tiramisu but it was still soft and yummy.

Our server was awesome - constantly checking in on us, making sure we had everything we needed. Loved our experience here! I would definitely come back for a drink, dinner, maybe a tub of the house salad.“
