“My friend and I visit here every Friday evening. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. Especially Jason. He remembers regulars, and is very genuinely caring about the people he serves. The servers, including Lupita, are very prompt and nice. Your drinks never go empty! We prefer this location because it’s not only open until 10pm, but because we have had such pleasant experiences with the staff. Food is pretty darn good too! Fresh breakfast meats and French toast! The food is exceptional, which is no surprise considering it's a Your Neighborhood Restaurant Group location, which has over half a dozen chef/butcher/owner operated locations around Portland.

Quality meats and well sourced ingredients. Great selection of beer and cider, and a surprisingly diverse menu with great options for all appetites.

We've tried the smashburgers, hot sandwiches (hot honey chicken and turkey), steak salad, and the sides. All meals were well received by ages 5-45, from foodie to redneck. They look as good as they taste, which is such a nice change of pace, considering the price point, which is very fair.

We will keep supporting this location as long as it's here in our neighborhood! Great work guys!“

“Love Javi's. It's in our neighborhood and we can walk. It's such a welcoming and warm atmosphere the minute you walk in. They were busy on Sunday morning and we opted to sit at the bar, which is a cute 3 spaces. Bar stools aren't the most comfortable but we didn't want to wait for a table. I ordered the salmon eggs benedict and it was phenomenal. It was the special so if it's available when you visit, get it. So delicious. We also ordered bloody mary's and watched the bartender make them in front of us. Spicy with a long celery stick and green pimento olives. You can get bacon added if you want (we didn't). We love this place. The family that owns it is gracious and trains their team well as their service is excellent, friendly and an extension of the family. Javi's menu items for both breakfast and lunch items will keep everyone happy with enough options for the next time you visit. It's just a great, local restaurant that focuses on the quality of its food and service. Definitely go check it out.“

“This is a great first date place. The food presentation was outstanding. However, we felt it was a little blan. They use RC soda products here, which are flat at the bar but have carbonation if gotten from the back. Amazing happy hour!

“This review is based on our last few minutes paying the bill, everything else was top notch. Our group of 4 was chatting when our bills arrived and continued to visit, and our waiter came by to gather abit later and told him it was ready. At this time we Bagan to review our bills to pay one with a card and we were paying cash. As soon as I placed the cash in their bifold and placed on the table another waiter came to the table and stated being just like our waiter and dressed similarly. Worth noting she was about 110 5 foot or so with our waiter at 220 plus and 6ft or so wit a great beard. I stated that our waiter had much bigger feet and a great beard with my wife commenting about our matching hairlines... lol right. No next thing we get is she identifies as law enforcement and proceeds to walk away with an elevated voice "I'll kick beat you down" I turned left to my friend and sain now she wants to wrestle. At this point mist people are watching and then just short of screaming she yells "I'll Kick your A$$". And indeed the entire restaurant is watching on what was going on, I simply went back to visiting with our group not knowing what was next. Not long afterwards our waiter walked by and as he did thank me for the tip. No follow up from management nothing. So probably about 15 minutes after this a few other groups had left and we started our departure and still nothing. Over the years we have been here many times as a couple and a few large groups, after this event not to sure we could return for an enjoyable dining experience with their staff threatening some ones life unprovoked. “This was the first visit, but there will be many, many more! We showed up and were told there’d be about a 10 min wait - which was fine! About 30 seconds later though, we had a seat and were looking at the menus! Service was excellent and kind. The food was so, so good! The portions were more than generous and the coffee was good! “Its the best breakfast this side of 205, probably the whole state. Good diner food and people who care. One of these times I'll order lunch but I haven't gotten bored of breakfast yet. There's one plate size (large, oval) and they fill it unless you get pancakes which comes on a large, not big enough plate.

“I ordered a combination dinner on my first visit, as I’ve been trying to find a great Chinese restaurant in the area. The chow mein was a bit different than what I expected, but the shrimp and fried rice were both very good.

I asked the waitress if I could swap the chow mein for additional fried rice since it wasn’t quite to my taste, and the staff was incredibly polite, understanding, and generous in accommodating my request. Their customer service really stood out, and I truly appreciated how they handled everything.

“My friend and I decided to come and have happy hour and we ordered california roll the wagu beef sliders the cod tacos and the fishermens stew. I enjoyed the sliders very much. The california roll had more rice than filling but, the crab meat, avocado and cucumber had good flavor but the quantity was very small. the cod tacos didn't say it was blackened with spices that were a little more than my taste buds could handle. the fishermens stew was very flavorfull and had well cooked fish and seafood. I would not recommend the california roll because of the amount of rice.“

For how fresh and delicious most of their menu items are, I was surprised at the burger quality - I’m almost certain it was a frozen patty, which seems so unlike this spot. I could be wrong, it just didn’t taste like what the price point makes it seem you’re getting. That said, everything else I’ve eaten here is fantastic.“

“Nice enough place... Almost like a bar you can bring your kids to? Not a lot of places to get a hot dog and they have a full menu of big Costco sized dogs for a not unreasonable amount of money. I had the burger on Texas toast and it came with fries for $13, however some of the hot dogs were $12-13 which is good if they came with fries but they don't, they come with chips, fries are 4 more dollars and are grocery store variety crinkle cuts... Not sure why the burger is cheaper than a hot dog... The burger was pretty good. My family seemed to enjoy their hot dogs. We had a couple beers that were good but not cheap by any means. It's not overpriced but the place has kind of a bargain feel, I think I would have liked it more it was like a "wow that was cheap experience". If you're gonna charge $12-13 for a hot dog include fries or maybe a 2 dollar upcharge 4 bucks is too much for a hand full of crinkle cuts. Lottery cheapens the place a bit and makes it feel more like a bar than it should. It's not a bad place.

“Amazing. If you are considering going- just go. Adorable date night spot. Each dish is packed with flavor. I like that they are only open for dinner so they focus on those few dishes they offer. Ambiance was great low lighting- the best wallpaper in the bathrooms. They have a lot of wine offerings but I skipped on that. They have a bar and several tables. Their cocktails and mocktails were excellent. The cheesecake was divine. Too stuffed so I got it to go and it was just incredible. I will be back!“

“Wow! We have been fans of Dean's Homestyle Cafe for many years. When the new owner's took it over this year, we were concerned about whether the comfortable, flavorful, "homestyle" experience we were used to would remain. The new team has done great! The staff is super friendly and working hard to make people feel welcome, learning names of regulars, and carrying on a place with a great reputation. The food is still excellent with super generous, well prepared portions and very reasonable prices. Well done!“

“They changed their menu and switched over to an egg batter versus the former buttermilk batter. The buttermilk batter chicken tenders were amazing! They brought a sense of nostalgia when biting into the generously-cut, CRISPY, juicy chicken tenders. The buttermilk batter was what made the tenders soo delicious.
Now…they taste like any other place where I’ve had chicken tenders. They’re not bad, just not anywhere nearly as great as their former self. It was disappointing because the crispiness was no longer there, they reduced the portion size, removed most of the delicious dipping sauces but their worst move was switching to an egg batter. Go back to the old buttermilk batter recipe. This is what made Kickin chicken stand out as having the best tenders in Oregon.“

Update, My wife n I have been going to Tik Tok for awhile now late nights like between midnight and three am. We both enjoy the drinks and the food plus they have the video lottery machines there that she likes to play. Not one time has there been a bad experience over anything. We really enjoy going to Tik Tok Restaurant together.“
