Very dog friendly (the dogs are allowed inside) and kid friendly. Big projector screen when big sporting events are on TV. Weekends there is INCREDIBLE pizza available that is to die for. “Can’t believe I hadn’t written a review for this place yet. After moving to Gresham a few months ago, I’ve been here weekly, sometimes multiple times a week. Their selection of approximately 18 beers has its classics that are always there, and then a rotating selection of tasty/seasonal selections beers that keeps things fresh. I particularly love their Cherry and Watermelon Sours. They offer growler fills and have a fun members club called “The Herd.” On Thursday evenings there is a friendly run club. Their taco Tuesday deal and Ranchhand pizza with the smoked pork are can’t miss.

Everyone who works there is super friendly and they’re such a treasure to have in the neighborhood.“

My wife and I personally tried , "flew the coop" and "La Arepa" and both had great service and the food was delicious. The attached brewery had an amazing selection of beers. The only detractor was that there was A Lot of very hoppy beers. That is a personal preference though. The Beer I did have was delicious. It's very family friendly and I enjoyed it.“

“I stopped with my wife and a friend after the “No Kings” demonstration. The place was packed. Our order was delayed and we had to send back an order that wasn’t ours. We finally got our order after a long wait. When I complained, the manager comped one of our sandwiches and gave me a gift card for my next visit. I feel that this situation was handled very well and I look forward to returning.“

“We had our wedding here and it was great! Kelli is absolutely fantastic to work with and her enthusiasm and passion and thoughtfulness was amazing. The food was delicious, and I would highly recommend a ceremony on Government Cove - the view and space is fantastic! Setup and the Event went smoothly. There were a couple little hiccups (water service with dinner, tip jar despite already tipping in advance), but they were minimal and overall I would highly recommend using them for your event. We had a small wedding with just a hair over 40 people and their pricing was very competitive.“

“This is another gem in the McMenamins line of fun, historical establishments - and by far my favorite! Been here many times over the years - actually even had my very first lobster roll EVER here (as a special item years ago) and it was amazing. The vibe is so quirky - you definitely feel like you’re walking the halls of your old elementary school - except there are bars and a lively restaurant and even a brewery haha!! The staff has always been super welcoming and friendly. The food at their main Courtyard Restaurant has always been great. On my last visit (July 2023), I had their chicken salad sandwich on croissant and it was SO GOOD!! Even their tater tots were perfectly cooked. And they even have some of the best iced tea I’ve had outside of the south! Their menu changes seasonally so it’s always a treat to try something new. After eating, leave time to explore - the grounds are just gorgeous and you’ll get lost in the nostalgia as you wander around the old school’s hallways. They have several bars - one is huge and has total steampunk vibes. They have a small hotel and a salt water pool - even the bathrooms are beautiful. I’d definitely like to stay here next time - but I imagine it can be a tad spooky at night haha! The school opened back in 1915 so it’s a historic building. The wall art is gorgeous and there are lots of info signs and historical pics scattered around. It’s in a good location in north Portland with plenty of parking and easy to find. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the area!“

We very much like the selection of beers and ciders, and we always appreciate the staff who are diligent, professional, and friendly. That being said, if you're in the mood for a burger, I have yet to find burgers in Portland that are significantly better than the these ones. Notably, at this particular location, every time I've been, the service has been excellent. The waiters who are cordial, kind and attentive without being too pushy about anything or to get you out the door. That in addition to that cozy atmosphere with good heating, music and decorations makes it a great place to chill if you need a bite to eat and an hour or two to relax without being bothered.“

“This is our local pub and the default place to grab drinks and dinner after a long week. There's always a great selection of local beers on draft, and the seasonal cocktails are a favorite. I often order the Blue Bayou salad, the Portland dip sandwich, or the Captain Neon burger, always with tots. Sadly the Scooby Snacks are no longer available here, so we'll occasionally travel to McMenamins locations further afield for those.
The staff are always friendly and helpful. If I have one criticism, it's that they often seem understaffed here, with one server to wait all the tables and tend bar. But ultimately it doesn't matter, I'll be going here until I die.“
