“A craft cocktail bar in a suburban Hilton. Does the ambiance leave something to be desired? Yes, but… the cocktail menu and drink quality here make it a quirky and well worth it visit. The head bartender here is clearly well trained and talented. He introduced himself and explained that he creates the seasonal menu himself. The ingredients are high quality, including homemade syrups and shrubs. He made an on the spot mocktails for our group as well as the amazing cocktails.“

“El Jefe is my favorite Spot to get food. However, the food cart does not have drinks such as Horchata and Jamaica. At the restaurant you can get as many limes, radishes, cilantro, etc. for free as you want. They have a bar for it. I recommend going to the restaurant instead of the food cart. The Food cart charged me for limes“

“Ok this place has terrible parking (I.E. none) and was fairly crowded. I almost ended up in the food carts across the street. MAN I'm glad I decided to try it out anyway!! The chef and mixologist (not just a bartender) were both top notch humans that provided a delicious experience with amazing service. We sat at the bar and honestly would do the same again. Enjoying a draft beer or cortado or kombucha while listening to the dulcet tones of Sandy Blvd while you eat your tacos is certainly a bonus, but this review is about the main course.

I ordered a pastor taco and an asada taco. Total came out to $2.50 which is solid these days.

The pastor meat was a tad on the chewy side but not bad at all. Great flavor. Carne asada had a nice chew and char. The tortillas were cooked perfectly and gave a nice texture to the whole thing. Salsa roja was my favorite kind, maybe some type of chile de arbol or something else roasted to give it a nice opaque dark red.

Their classic Mexican fare is both familiar and surprising, full of special touches and a signature attention to detail that makes each and every dish shine. For just one example, the chicken enchiladas plate is prepared bone-in – two massive drumsticks star on a plate where nothing plays backup. The meat is succulent, full of flavor, and fall-off-the-bone tender. Served with potatoes, avocado, fresh and pickled veg... It’s fantastic, balanced, and craveable. The birria in any incarnation is also super solid. We come back so often, we will eventually make it through the whole menu. But we’re stuck on our favorites, so it will take us a very long time before we reach the end. DO NOT SLEEP ON THEIR INSANELY GOOD SEASONAL CHAMPURRADO.“

“This was my second visit. This time I chose three street tacos: beef, chicken and fish. The beef was fantastic! Definitely a 10/10. The chicken was good, 8/10. The fish was disappointing because I was hoping for grilled fish but they have breaded fish. It’s a bit heavy and awkward to eat. Not my favorite. It was tasty, just not for me. My partner had a shrimp taco and said it was fantastic, 10/10. Beer is tasty. I love this place! Service and atmosphere are great. Highly recommend.“

“First time visit last night with six of us and they are very nicely opened up the toast restaurant and let us sit in there and we had such a nice evening and the waiter was so friendly and wonderful and really helped us out to get acquainted with the offerings we tried the vegetarian potstickers and also the various vegetarian tacos which were really good. Later we each had a vegetarian Ramen and every single one was delicious and I especially liked the one with the tofu and the hard-boiled egg and the spinach. They brought a small container of warm sake for me which I really liked with a tiny cup I got to choose. OverallI gave it a big 10+ and I would definitely eat there again and probably will go back pretty soon. The main thing is to try to find a time when the parking is not completely full in the area be prepared to park a ways away and walk which is good for us so it really wasn’t a problem.“

They load their tacos full of meat, (they are expensive, but I feel like it’s worth the price.)—Because they give you a lot of meat and cheese and all the good stuff with your order. “Asked for a chorizo burrito to replenish energy.
Got a hash brown burrito with chorizo instead.
Burrito is decent, big, very big, but simple, lots of hash brown inside, cheese and chorizo.
I was planning to give a mid review but the salsas made up for the mid burrito, salsa is where it's at.
Make sure to take some on your way out.
Got to try more things from them I guess before I make my mind but it's not a bad place to refuel“
