“This place was great for Happy Hour! We sat in the bar which was OK. Upon leaving I saw the restaurant and will sit there next time for the view!! The service was spectacular!! Waitress/Bartender came to our table probably every 15 minutes to check on us,,, and it was about half full. Food was GREAT! Had the Happy Hour Burger (1/4#) because the regular burger (1/2#) felt like too much. Had several appetizers which were yummy. 100% will be going back soon.“

We enjoyed the ambiance greatly, were delighted by all 8 dishes we got, and loved the service.
My husband ordered the Old Fashioned Cocktail and the Bar Manager came out to introduce himself and tell us more about what makes it so special. He actually works with a local distillery to create the drink and bottle it. It was so good we ordered 2 and then went to the store down the street to buy our own bottle!

The small plates are incredible, and from 5-6 each night you can get a little 2-person sampler of all of them for only $38! Best deal in town! And then if you’re hungry, the steak was cooked PERFECTLY.

We couldn’t decide on a dessert so we ordered both!! Glad we did.“

“I love this place. It is in my neighborhood, so it's becoming one of my go-to local watering holes. The food has been excellent and they offer a lot of variety. Great list of beers, too. It is a pub food joint so it is loud and there are lots of TVs with sports on...which is awesome.

Parking: I never had a problem finding parking unless there was a football game at the high school.“

“So many good things at this restaurant. So far, all the things I have tasted are so amazing. The BBQ Chicken Pizza, The Elden Burger, Cajun Tots, House Side Salad, Bourbon Glazed Wings and the Guiness on tap. All of these items I can say are superb. I have now been here three days in a row. I can't say I have done the same for any restaurant ever. Except for when I worked in one, but I didn't enjoy it as much as this place. They seem to be doing a lot of things very right so far. “I ate at Verde Cocina en la Perla while at a work conferencein Portland, Oregon. The food was so delicious that I build my entire birthday around eating there! I live in Olympia, Washington. It is over an hour drive but I will keep doing it every few months. I had Arro as my bartender and server both times. He treats you like FAMILY, and this place IS family owned. I even was introduced to the creator of the Horchata French Toast dish. It is so good I cry happy tears thinking about it. Please visit for brunch and order it, you will NOT be sad about it. I don't even use syrup on the French toast, because the Horchata sauce is so so good on its own. The chillequilles are so so good with eggs OR tofu. Arro was awesome in helping us select desserts...the flan is so dang good, and it is #vegan! My wife and I are #vegetarian, but when I went with a coworker, he said that the meat dishes are "fire." I had a drink both times, first was the mango margarita. Tastes fresh and delicious! Had the perfect amount of tequila but tasted like juice...😈 I have also ordered the Paloma. I can't tell which one is my favorite!!! Anyways, do yourself a favor and order. Trust me.“

“We absolutely loved having our 55-person wedding at Bar Carlo. The owner Mel is at the same time very supportive and very low-key, which made for a smooth planning process and day-of event. The space is gorgeous, and has multiple connected wings, which allowed for the the party to morph seamlessly over the night from barside cocktail hour to outdoor patio ceremony to dinner buffet to dance floor. The space is already a beautifully decorated artwork, and Mel lets you decide how to arrange the space for your event, but you can also bring your own decorations/sound system/llama and she can handle those additions easily. The food and drinks were delicious too, and Mel was able to accommodate our entirely vegan and gluten-free menu without hesitation. Overall we loved the unique-ness, flexibility and good vibes of the space and the people of Bar Carlo, and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a cute and fun space for their wedding or other event. -Nicola & Lou“

Never really feeling comfortable because most of the employees are busy visiting with regulars and people they know They might offer you something to drink once in a while. Until ERICKA !!! She gives excellent customer service (this 5 star rating is for her) I was in there the other day and she was calling every single person by name. She us wonderful. You are very lucky to have her as an employee. I hope your paying her a decent wage because if not I would snatch her up in a heartbeat . She gives excellent customer service. I guarantee you that she is what brings alot of your business in. Thank you Erika for making me feel welcome!“

“The BBQ Mac is good and so is the squid pasta! Meatballs have lots of flavor. My biggest concern is the inconsistencies in the moisture of the pasta. For example each time I've gotten the BBQ mac, the flavor is good but sometimes it's super dry. Overall, I will keep coming back because the flavors are great!“

“It's too bad The Lamp essentially went out of business during the COVID shutdown, and is unlikely to return to the cool neighborhood bar that it used to be. Luckily, the Aladdin Theater took over the space so at least you can still hang out and have a drink while waiting for the show next door to open. Beats waiting outside in the rain.“

“Assembly is a great spot for beer and really good pizza! The staff are a delight. My only complaint is their patio/outdoor space could use some updating/ improvement on ambiance. But the inside is really really nice. Their patio is dog friendly which is awesome!!“

“I LOVE coming here, amazing food, service, and the atmosphere makes you feel right at home. Staff were as kind as the food satiated my hunger for Japanese cuisine.
I usually get the Tonkatsu Ramen, the pork cutlets have the perfect balance of fat and meat and flavor. (I am getting cravings just writing this review!) all in all, wonderful place for any sort of dine in experience.

Vegetarian options: Ramen is one of the best foods in general because of its versatility, you can put anything you want into ramen and it will still be amazing, high recommend for vegetarians.

Parking: Small parking lot adjacent to the building, free street parking up and down Gladstone St.

Kid-friendliness: If your kids can handle the rich flavors and warm atmosphere of the establishment, I would highly recommend for all ages.“
