“Last Saturday, while on the Oregon coast, Kim and I stopped in at Pacific Kitchen at Nye Beach for a spot of lunch. Pacific Kitchen is well located on the beach and quite attractive. The interior is nice and welcoming. We opted to sit on the patio, as the day was quite nice also. We weren’t extremely hungry, so we opted for light meals, referred to as ‘bites’ on their menu. Kim ordered the calamari. It was well cooked, tender, tasty, and an adequate portion. Their red Aioli sauce is quite nice, and quite flavorful without being overpowering. We both enjoyed the calamari. I made the mistake of ordering the Dungeness crab cake with greens and red aioli sauce. It is described as being served with “greens and red aioli”. I suppose, technically, that is true. Let me tell you about my sixteen-dollar crab cake. When my plate was brought to me, I kinda felt sorry for the poor little critter laying there all by itself with three tiny, tiny leaves of something green under a Panko breaded patty slightly smaller than a York Peppermint Patty and about the same thickness. I THINK it tasted good. The serving was so small that it’s hard to tell for sure. I cut it into thirds and had three tiny mouthfuls. There were no lumps of crab in it, only shreds, and the total serving, by my wife’s estimation, was about 2 tablespoons of crab mix. It worked out to five dollars a bite (not counting the 3 tiny greens and the 1 ounce serving of aïoli). Returning to Bend, a quick trip to Costco revealed that they were selling 1 pound packages of Dungeness crab meat for twenty-nine dollars. That works out to about a dollar and ½ an ounce. I’d be very surprised if there was an ounce of crab meat in my Patty that I paid sixteen dollars for. I was more than a little offended and felt very ripped off. I mean, couldn’t they have thrown a tomato or a little dab of cottage cheese or an onion ring or a French fry onto the plate for their sixteen-dollar price? When they called it a bite, they were definitely not kidding. I would’ve walked away quite hungry (as well as quite irritated!) had not Kim offered to share her calamari with me. IF we ever return there, I will definitely not order crab cakes. I’m just grateful that I didn’t order the thirty-two-dollar meal that had two of these crabcakes on it. I would’ve been twice as pissed.“

“We had dinner there tonight and the food was fantastic. Charlie was our server, he provided a excellent experience. It was very busy, he took care of everyones needs efficiently. There was a family with 2 disabled people, his attentiveness and patience was fantastic. Will go back.“

“Of note, this Mo's does not do fried food and doesn't have the standard Mo's dishes. That said if you want more seafood options and a more seasonal menu, this is the place to go. Watching people unloading and cleaning fish and oysters just outside the window is definitely a plus
Vegetarian options: It's all seafood, so plenty of pescatarian food, but no vegetarian food“

“We loved, loved, loved our waiter. And the hostess was awesome. However, given that we had a reservation and had to wait 30-40 minutes past that reservation time, standing around, UGH. That was difficult with a group of 8 and only a few chairs for waiting and them being filled. The food was awesome of course! And, we had our BEST EVER waiter at LO this visit. A super nice guy, who was friendly and funny -- that has not always been the case with prior wait service making you feel unwelcomed -- this was quite different this time and it was really nice! We brought 6 people with us from out of town, and other than the long wait (even though we had reservation) - the night was great and everyone enjoyed the food tremendously and of course, we will continue to bring our out of town guests, but I hope the reservation can actually work out where we can be seated within 10-15 minutes of reservation, not 30-40. THE HOSTESS IS AWESOME. What a great attitude and patience working the front desk! Wow...“

“Newport on a Tuesday night. We drove to five restaurants before finding Zach’s Bistro. Although He was sold out of almost everything, we were able to get the most amazing dinner ever! Even my five-year-old grandson loved the food. I had the fish cakes, with artichoke and dill. Oh my goodness! It was amazing. My daughter had perfectly cooked salmon dinner. Desert was an awesome chocolate, berry and browned marshmallow. I am so happy we stumbled on this fine dining restaurant on the edge of Nye Beach area in Newport Oregon!“

“Beer is good, but they only filled my growler half way. When i told them it’s not full they just gave me a refund of half. I’m so confused.
They responded and said they would fix it. If we ever are back in the area we will stop by to see. Thanks.“
