The lady who owns the place and always seems to take care of us and is always very friendly. As for the beers and ciders they are the best we’ve had. Loved the ciders before they filtered them but still taste just as good but without the “look”.😉 A true gem that you must try next time you are in the quaint little town of West Linn. “We love this place! We eat here regularly, and truly enjoy the food, cocktails, service, and ambiance. The black cod miso yaki is our favorite dish - it's delicious and I highly recommend it. The veggie and shrimp tempura is the best I've ever had, with an interesting mix of eggplant, mushrooms, squash, lotus root, and onions - all lightly battered and served with a delightful dipping sauce (pour the dipping sauce on the black cod, it's so good). The cocktails, especially the Japanese 75 and the shiso gin drink (I can't think of the name), are well-balanced and mixed properly, and are very yummy. I tell everyone I know to try this place! Some of the food can seem adventurous if you're not familiar with Japanese fare, but it's all delicious and beautifully presented. Finally, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the owner is a very sweet and funny lady. All around, Sushi Kuni is a great dining experience and I highly recommend checking it out.“

“Have been wanting to try this place for a few years and finally got the chance last weekend. I was feeling a little hesitant about the long line but it moved very quickly and we didn't have to wait long. I ordered the salted malted chocolate chip cookie dough and got a scoop of vegan cookies and cream for my wife. It was DELICIOUS. My wife went in a second time to get a pint for me so we could take it home. Unfortunately it melted because our hotel rooms freezer malfunctioned 😬 will definitely be back for more ice cream when I'm over in this area again.

The only thing was that it was not packed in a to-go bag but save the environment I guess was the idea. Would have loved some utensils as well. The chicken was some of the best fried chicken that I have found around the metro area. Waffle was pretty good too and the syrup was fantastic. Free street parking right out front and around the area.“

They have an amazing outdoor seating area that we took advantage of after golfing.

The drinks were wet and plentiful. The fish and chips were huge, but I ate till I was stuffed because it was so good!

“I've always had decent food here at Bannings. This morning I ordered Pumpkin pancakes.....what a disappointment. The pumpkin batter needed salt added to it and it also could have used a bit more sugar in the batter. The syrup was not real maple syrup but table top ad says, "warm maple syrup," so I expected real maple syrup. It also says, "whipped butter." I asked the waiter about the maple syrup and he told me it was "artificial" maple and argued the fact that the restaurant never said "real" maple syrup. Maybe the butter is whipped margarine...who knows what liberties are taken in menu descriptions. I'm a "real" maple syrup customer.“
