“I was introduced to these cookies years ago, and they have become my go-to choice for special occasions for many reasons. First, they are absolutely delicious! Second, I appreciate their business practices. Just yesterday, I ordered some cookies, and although they usually ship the next day, they weren't able to get into the shop due to the ice. I received a thoughtful phone call from a man named Mike. He informed me that they typically do not ship on Fridays, but given the inclement weather, they would be making an exception. He even apologized for the delay. You rarely get this kind of courtesy call from businesses anymore.“

“I work up the road and we ordered for pick up for lunch and it was delicious! BLT’s can be tricky for takeout. The bread was toasted, fresh yet crunchy and delicious. The bacon was thick and cooked perfectly with a good portion on the sandwich. The lettuce and tomato were also fresh and distributed evenly with the mayo. Served with fresh coleslaw and a pickle! My new favorite lunch spot!! Can’t wait to try the other menu items.“

“We worked with Joe to put together a tea reception after our wedding ceremony, and we couldn't have been happier! The pastries themselves were so delicious and very pretty (my personal favourites were the mini-cupcakes). And, Joe was a pleasure to work with, very communicative and upfront. We had to switch things up last minute from having the food out on display to having it packaged and handed out, and Joe and his team did a fantastic job pivoting, even coming up with a cute little QR code sticker with the menu for each box. We'll definitely be going back again.“

Gina and her staff are so sweet and friendly, that the “Sweets” of their Sweets on Darby name refers as much to the people as it does to the delightful pastries she bakes. “My sweetheart and I went here on our second date. The original plan was to meet at Dead King Bread in Manyunk, and then hike in the Wissahickon. Dead King was closed, however, and my sweetheart quickly suggested Roma Cafe as an alternative. I'm ashamed to say that I never knew about this bakery. When I think of Italian bakeries, I typically think of South Philly. This is the real deal. An interior that harkens back to earlier times, and probably owners that harken back to an earlier time!

It was here that I discovered that my sweetheart is extravagant with treats, especially sweets. As a bit of a minimalst, I chose a rather bland biscuit. He chose an array of half a dozen treats, including canolies.

When we eventually made our way to the Wissahickon, we discovered that we had each packed more treats for the hike - cheese, grapes. He brought the most wonderful brie from Trader Joes that was as soft and gooey as if you had baked it in the oven. I noted with approval that he was equipped with a good picnic bag, as was I.

As we walked through the Wissahickon, I was captivated by his friendliness to everyone we passed on the trails, including the dogs.

“I go there to buy the tomato pie. I never buy less than two boxes which is a quarter pie each with nine slices sprinkled with cheese. I never thought to take a picture. Maybe I will next time and I’ll update this. They make the most amazing tomato pie! I did purchase a piece of baklava from them yesterday. I can can’t speak to how it tasted, but it was beautiful as I gave it away.“

This took away her ability to enjoy some of her favorite foods. We tried to find substitutes at the local grocery stores but nothing really took the place of her favorite baked goods. Finding you was a miracle! She loved your cookies, bread and Pumpkin Pie!! She looked forward to me bringing home her favorites and surprises like your pretzels and cinnamon buns each week. “Visited this establishment for the first time and I LOVE IT. My granddaughter daughter talked about Mochi donuts ? and booba teas.. we got so much, from donuts, smooties to hot cheeto corn dogs.. everything was delicious. Not to mention, my daughter left her purse there early in the day (yes we we twice in 1 day ??‍♀️) and we didn't know it. Customer service was excellent. Atmosphere is very welcoming. “got a 6-pack, first time trying (had a gift card). i'd say it's worth the money if you're getting one cookie as a snack, or you're getting a pack for a sizeable group of people to share. both my wife and i tapped out after eating 1 cookie (chocolate chip - delicious), when at insomnia we'd usually eat 2-3 each for a dessert. if you don't like thicker cookies, these are not for you - though it has a cookie texture, they're almost like mini cakes. but again, if you're looking for a more filling cookie, i'd pay the extra $1 to get it over insomnia's.“

“Absolutely love this bakery! They offer handmade treats that you won’t just find at any grocery store bakery, but instead a real nice and upscale mini bakery. Their menu items often change, incorporating new and exciting ideas often. Some yummy ones that I tried are tiramisu, pavlova, caramel cheesecake, pumpkin cheesecake, fruit tarts, and more! They also offer unique beverages such as a hibiscus flavored lemonade and a minty sprite. Not to mention they also offer crepes which I have yet to try but I bet they’re delicious.“

Stopped by today and got the cheesesteak with sauce and onions, and the buffalo chicken cheesesteak just to try it out. It was absolutely delicious! “whenever I am in Chestnut Hill I always say that I am going to try this restaurant. Well today I did and It did not disappoint OMG…. The restaurant is quaint and cute. The service was excellent and the food was very good. I ordered the broccoli quiche with turkey bacon on the side. That quiche is like none I have ever tasted, flaky crust and the filling reminded me of soufflé but much taster. I also brought 2 cups cakes carrot and coconut to go. I’m sure they are just as good. I can’t wait to go back because I hear there is a different quiche each week. This is my new breakfast place for sure.“

I got a few things, including a box of mid-autumn festival mooncakes, which are absolutely amazing: delicate, filled with rich custard and a nicely blended egg-yolk paste. They didn’t have extra menus for me to take so I took photos of their current selection. There are a few tables there for you to enjoy your desserts on-site. “Old time family owned bakery. They sell Italian bread, rolls, pizza, stromboli and cannolli. We now live in South Carolina and every time we go to Philadelphia we bring rolls back to SC. Especially, love the seeded rolls. You won't be disappointed!
