It's a well run restaurant now that it has a newer owner from years ago.Parking: Watch the meters because havertown loves to give a ticket. But in general, it's cheap. It's only a Dollar or so to eat dinner, relax for parking. If you go after the meter time which is dinner late, there was an problem but check.“

“This is one of our favorite bars in Delco. We used to live in the area but moved to Colorado almost 30 years ago. Whenever we came back to visit family, we would go to the McGilicuddy's on West Chester Pike. When it closed and changed hands about four years ago, we were really disappointed. We visited this McGilicuddy's today and found Larry the bartender that used to work on West Chester Pike which was a great surprise. The beer is really cold and the food is good and affordable and Larry is a great bartender. We found our new spot!“

“Came here for a business dinner. It was really an amazing experience. This place is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. It's a tapas style tasting menu so they just bring you out like a dozen different dishes. The portions were perfect and everything was cooked to perfection. The ambiance is really nice and although the space is small it's not loud at all. I thought the waiter was also very nice professional and knowledgeable. Which went very well with our glasses of very reasonably priced and good dry white. Two of us had the crabcake sandwich with fries which was delicious. my other two dining companions had salads – one a beautiful quinoa, and the other a large salad with chicken, both of which they enjoyed. Now, the service! We were fortunate to get Tristan again as our server. He was a delight as usual with attentive and upbeat service. As I said, a wonderful dining experience – good food, good service, and the beautiful ambience of the Wissahickon . What could be better. “

“Vernick Food & Drink- Philadelphia, Pa. 5 Stars NUMBER 1 ALL USA ALL-TIME!! As we drive north on Christmas Eve I felt a stop in the City of Brotherly Love was appropriate. It was not easy to reserve a fine dining adventure. Vernick could get us in at 11:00pm. I took it because I know how highly regarded this locale is. As we were driving I called and asked if there had been any cancellations. Lucky for me there was. 6:30pm. With a nine year old in tow it was much better. So we get to the restaurant and it's very small but packed to the rafters with people. This to me is always a good sign. All of the tables were very close together. However, being in an establishment like this you never have to worry. Everyone was dressed up and professional. They only downside to this review is it was too dark inside for me to snap pics of the food. I took them but they did not come out well. On to the substance of the experience. The drink menu is easily the coolest array of cocktails I have ever experienced. I started with the House Old Fashioned. A perfect balance of flavors between the bourbon, the butters and the Demerara sugar. My second drink was the Deshler a fine combination of top shelf rye whiskey, dubonnet and dry curaçao. If we were staying in town a few days I would have had more. As I perused the menu I began to wonder why restaurants with a diverse menu like Vernicks do not exist in my neck of the woods. Anyway, I started with fluke served sashimi style in a light piquant broth. The fluke was so fresh it was still moving on my plate. This was my first foray with fluke and it was way worth it. The adventure continued with veal sweetbreads. This organ was so juicy and tender. The sauce was decadent and smooth. I wrapped up with the venison. I have consumed venison over 20 times in my life. Every single time I always got a gamey note at the end. The Vernick venison was sans that note. How they did it I do not know. My daughter who is finicky tried it and thought it was filet mignon. After finishing the meal, we went to exit and the hostess was handing out packs of fresh baked chocolate fudge cookies. Thoroughly amazing. Big Boy rates this number 1 in the country.“

I had the one of the special entrees of the day- duck breast and since I’m not drinking, their lavender lemonade was both cute and tasty. A little tart, but very lemonadey. My husband got a ton a stuff that I don’t remember, but he enjoyed every drink, appetizer ( it was a tuna bonbon special) and entree. “McMenimin's is a terrific, very popular neighborhood bar/restaurant. It can be noisy, but if you sit in the back room, the noise is not too bad. We were there on a weeknight (Tuesday), and yet every table was filled by 7 o'clock. The food is better than one would expect for this kind of place. The fish and chips, chef's salad with portobello mushrooms and plant-based "cheeseburger" were all excellent. And portions were huge. The server was very pleasant. The reasons why this is 4 stars and not 5: No cocktail list at all and just a few not-so-great wines by the glass. And the entrees were served way before we were finished with the appetizers. They must have thought we had to catch a train. If you don't mind being rushed like crazy, then you might give McMenamin's 5 stars.“

“Absolutely thrilled with my recent visit to South Philadelphia Tap Room! The highlight of my meal was, without a doubt, their Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Paired with a golden, crispy Grilled Cheese that was oozing with melty cheese goodness, it was comfort food at its finest. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff only added to the exceptional dining experience. A must-visit spot for anyone craving a classic with a gourmet twist!“

“Food is great most of the time. When it's not great, it's really good! Breakfast foods are my favorite, but they have a pretty good cheesesteak. The fried chicken is good, too. The servers are great! I've ever had a bad experience there. Good food. Good prices.Parking: Spaces are tight!“

“I've read plenty of great reviews and I have friends who tell me about the wings.. I have to say that the wings are the best that are out there ! They are twice the size of any other wings that I've eaten.. even if you bought them at the market and made them yourself. Even the blue cheese was thick and tasty. The chicken cheesesteak was good..a little salty but good . In all fairness I'm a beef guy .“

“Service was great, breakfast was great. They made a small error on my extra eggs and gave them to me on the house. Food came timely and hot. Menu has both breakfast and lunch, and it has a lot to offe, large menu choices. Inside is a bit small but it didn't effect the great meal. I look forward to returning and eating outside. Picture is the chicken sandwich my girlfriend ordered. Delightful“

“As a cheesesteak enthusiast, I was anxious to try the "Jawn" advertised as a pound of prime ribeye on a freshly kneaded roll with caramelized onions and Cooper Sharp. The roll was fresh and warm, and yeasty, but more like pizza crust than the high end Italian rolls one finds at the best cheesesteak joints. Onions were perfect. Cheese was kind of skimpy. The beef was high quality and free of gristle..but a POUND? Maybe 8oz. MAX before cooking. I've eaten several pound steaks, and this ain't one. Fries were very high quality frozen, served piping hot in a cute mini fry-basket. Wife's wings were crispy and didn't get soggy in the plentiful hot sauce. Drinks are very reasonable and staff attentive and friendly. I guess the "Jawn" is a kind of novelty, and the price may reflect the beef grade as opposed to weight. Adorable atmosphere. I'll return, but try the Italian dishes where I suspect they excel.“

“Had dinner at Bar Sera for the first time in 2023-06-16 for a 7pm reservation. We got seated right away, not waiting at all. All our drinks and food came out on time and was absolutely delicious. We had the best server named Rachel. She had many tables but still was amazing, very attentive and would engage in conversation with us as. She made the dining experience so much better than any restaurant I’ve been to in a while. The food overall was amazing. I highly recommend this place. If you can, ask for Rachel, she won’t disappoint.“

“We were very excited to try this spot and finally made it on a Saturday to celebrate our anniversary, which I noted when I made the reservation. Overall our experience was good, but not as good as we had hoped. The vibe and decor is absolutely gorgeous (although we do recommend that they dim the picture lights over the art, as it was very bright and reflective). We had the 4 course chef’s menu and every single dish was really beautiful - this was one of the standout elements, as all the plates looked like art themselves. The flavors were not bad but some of the dishes were on the bland side, while others were quite delicious. We started with the hamachi crudo and endive salad - both were okay. Then the crab bisque and charred octopus - the bisque was the winner. For mains we ordered the lamb loin and sea bass. The lamb dish came out first but we waited about 5 minutes for the bass to come, and it seemed as though the lamb was waiting in the kitchen for a while because it was mostly room temperature by the time I started to eat it. The flavors were good but mild. The seabass was delicious. Also really enjoyed the love cake for dessert. So, overall, a 4-course menu for $70 is a great price compared to the individually-priced dishes. While not every dish was amazing, the meal had some high notes and I really appreciated how beautiful they were. I was a little let down by parts of the meal and disappointed they didn’t acknowledge our anniversary, but overall I think this place was worth the visit and I will likely go back to try it again and explore some of the other dishes.“
