“The food is good, and the prices are low compared to a LOT of other places in the area. The service is stellar from friendly staff. I recommend this place to my coworkers all the time, and they love it, too. If you are not used to the "Papi" store experience, don't let the appearance fool you. They are a neighborhood convenience store, so think Walmart, Wawa and Home Depot combined into one store the size of a hotel room. The food is consistently good!“

“Met a friend for breakfast as Apple Walnut Cafe was halfway between where I live and Swarthmore. It's a super cute diner-like atmosphere with very friendly wait staff and an extensive menu with all kinds of eggs, french toast, pancakes, and lots more. I enjoyed my blueberry pancakes and my friend enjoyed his eggs. It's a solid choice for breakfast and I look forward to trying other items on their menu in the future!“

We ordered the Vietnamese Iced Coffee, which was a little different than what I am used to (but delicious!), the hot coco, Grilled Cheezy Sticks and Banh Mi Op La. They have a bar type seating situatoin on one side of the restaurant, a booth/chair situation on the opposite wall and then 2 seat smaller tables. It will be all kinds of food that are fresh, fruity, and full of toppings to choose from. The Nutella stuffed French toast with strawberries and bananas on the top will make you want to order very quickly, especially with the cheap price of only $9.50. There are many food items to choose from like pancakes, omelets, eggs, french toast, Belgian waffles, chipped beef, and so much more. The employees at Havertown Grille are very friendly and kind. The bathrooms are so clean and smell as fresh as a cologne bottle. And of course, Havertown Grille provides a take-out section for people who don't have time to sit in the clean, comfy seats. Although they don't have high-top seats, there is a plentiful amount of regular seats that are spread out and easy to get up to go somewhere if you have to. The drinks come in a big glass that is nice and cold at the perfect temperature. While you are waiting to get your food, or eating, you can watch the TV that always has sports on from any angle you are sitting and looking straight at so you don't have to turn your neck. Don't worry though. When you are done eating your pancakes or anything that is very sticky, the bathroom is so close that you stand up and are right at the door. When you are done eating, the nice waitresses will be so fast to bring you the check and make you want to come back the next day.“

“The Corner has been on my list of places to try for over a year, mainly so I could try the Huevos Rancheros, and I finally had the opportunity to try it recently with one of my daughters. It was a bustling yet comfortable little restaurant, split into two separate rooms. My daughter and I sat on the side with the grill, which had extra windows since it's on "The Corner" and some nice green plants that brightened things up a little more. The Huevos Rancheros didn't disappoint - I ordered mine with the coffee rubbed short rib. It really was good and it was cooked perfectly. The crispy potatoes were so good and actually crispy, unlike most other places that just have a little crisp to them. I adore home fries, and they can be hard to cook just right, so I really enjoyed these. The service was great and the waitress was so friendly. Oh, and there was an earthquake while we were there - and my daughter was the only one who even felt it LOL Overall, it was a yummy and fun visit. I'm glad I finally got to try it out, and I will definitely go again sometime.“

“I just moved to the area and was looking for some breakfast. This was the only spot open close to me on a Sunday. Wow. But I admit, the food was spot on. I can tell this place most likely boomed before the pandemic but the orders and pickups were still coming in. The sweetheart at the counter when I came in had a very thick accent so I couldn't understand him at first. Other than that my experience and food was great. I'll definitely be back. My daughter also loved the silver dollar pancakes with powdered sugar.“

“We stayed in Brewerytown but found this hidden gem of a family run traditional diner. This is a non tourist spot where locals grab and go in a non stop in and out. Wide menu selection we ate 3 different mornings here because it was cheap, filling, and friendly, one of the few places open early morning is a plus. Family owned and mixed race staff was SO amazing to see! We always left full and happy. First time trying scrapple was just ok, like a fried patty of a dull flavored sausage. Had the 3 meat and egg combo best value. Grits were buttery and great with splashes of hot sauce. Pancakes just like something your mom would make for breakfast. BLT again nothing mind blowingly amazing, but comforting and familiar that takes you back to traditionally good homemade quality with regular ingredients. This would be same price as a Denny's but higher quality in service and quality taste. Come visit this diner is just a great Philly experience.“

As we are super particular about food, Basil helped us with suggestions on the menu, was absolutely hilarious, so helpful and made our entire day! “Where to start!!! I happened to be at Upper Darby HS this morning doing a favor and decided to see what Yelp recommended near me. There were the usual (Tank and Libby's....Sabrina's....Kettle....etc), but I'm a common guy by nature and wanted to get back to my corner, neighborhood diner roots. All these fancy places starting me to talking with a Main Line accent when I grew up in New Castle.... lol.... This place showed up, and although there weren't many reviews, they were all excellent. Plus, looking at the pics, this was the vibe I was looking for. Walked in and was greeted by Patty and Marla. Within 5 minutes, they made me feel like a regular, when I had never even been there before. I ordered a cup of coffee while I checked out the menu. I NEVER would've expected such a great cup of coffee from a corner spot. It was worthy of La Colombe. For breakfast I decided to have the 2XL egg mixed grill. This included...... get this..... two scrambled eggs (i added cheese), home fries (I added peppers and onions), two slices of thick slab bacon, two pieces of sausage, two slices of ham, and one piece of scrapple and toast on the side....... All this...... for only $11.95. While I was eating this hearty, delicious meal, in walks the owner, Jason. Young man is doing the damn thing. Owns this diner and the mechanics shop across the street. Very personable. So many of our young black men are out there doing positive things like this and you don't hear about it. I'll tell you this. I live 40 minutes from here but I will support and promise to have my a** in one of those chairs at least once a month.“

Floor directly under my seat was wet from spilled coffee so I asked a server to wipe it which she did half heartedly and not thoroughly. Took longer for her to attend to us despite the not so busy time. Luckily another very pleasant server was kind enough to step in and promptly served us with a beautiful smile and attitude.Food was great! Original server didn’t bother to check back in with us if we needed anything else like, um, water?Came time to pay bill in front and the amount was just about right. Paid the 20 percent tip somewhat reluctantly (I think that was the minimum if I recall) and was told by the somewhat frosty and disengaged front person that the card came through only for the tip(??). Had to swipe card for second time making sure to ask lady I don’t have to tip again.
